Mission: The purpose of the hennessy travelers association educational foundation is to provide educational opportunities for air force food service professionals. Directly supported by contributions from industry we provide scholarships and ecuational seminars uniquely tailored to military professionals. These programs enhance interest & skills in the profession thus providing enhanced employment opportunities as well as benefits withi the food industry upon their completion of military services.
Programs: During 2011, the hennessy travelers association continued to provide excellent community services through its educational opportunities. The association provided 25 of the armed forces finest food service professionals from active duty, guard and reserve operations worldwide with an eduational event sponsored in conjuction with the 54th anniversary of the john l. Hennessy awards in chicago in may 2011. This annual awards program held during the national restaurant association hotel and motel show presented many of the possibilities available in the industry to the 25 armed forces food service professionals in attendance as well as reveal ing to them numerous career options after completing their military servic e. The attendees received a full program of educational seminars, culinary events and competitions from skilled industry leaders from around the world. We feel this is an event that continues to grow with interest for both attendees and sponsors that will resound with the attendees for years during this event we also announced that these 25 military will all be attendees for our 2012 week long armed forces forum for culinary (cia) greystone campus in napa valley, ca. We received numerous inquiries from interested industry leaders on how they could assist in supporting such a unique event.
