This organization provides support services to intellectually and developmentally disabled children and adults. They offer several support programs, including after school programs for kids, teens and adults; respite services; advocacy services; a summer camp for disabled youth and they are starting a full time school in Fall 2014. I have volunteered with the summer camp for the past two years with my children and it has been a truly rewarding experience. The staff works very hard to make it an enjoyable experience for the campers, offering arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor recreation, music and on site field trips. The programs are well staffed and volunteers are always welcome. You really feel as if you are making a difference when you elicit a response from some of the more disabled participants.
