They were extremely rude, very unproffesional. Yelled at me for trying to find a home for a dog that was abandoned, then set me down on the table and walked away. Then hung up on me. Looking for a loving facility? This place is DEFINITELY NOT what your looking for. Donate somewhere else!! They don't deserve your kindness if they can't be kind.

Awful rescue organization! We had to give one star to have the rating post. My family totally agrees with the first review that the owner is rude and unprofessional. To add to that testimony, my family rescued a "Pippet" late last year (Pitbull/Whippet mix) from HOH, upon losing our beloved in August 2014. The dog's name is "Lyric." After numerous (deep) scratches and bruises, a busted lip in October, then a broken tooth and black eye the day before Thanksgiving (the black eye didn't heal until into the new year) we gave back "Lyric" to the organization. Upon seeing the posting that she has recently been adopted, our hearts sank as she AGAIN was misrepresented. Her web page lists her as a "whippet/whippet mix." For the family that adopted her, we wish you all the best. She is mostly pitbull. She has very aggressive tendencies once she's comfortable. We wrote a review back to HOH upon surrendering her, and NONE of it was reflected in her profile. However, pictures taken in our living room were! She does have a lot of energy, but she is far too aggressive. PetsMart training was unsuccessful. Hired in-home training worked while the trainer was with us, but when gone, "Lyric" went back to her old habits: jumping over fully reclined sofas (OVER!!!), track racing around the house, disobeying basic commands, not obeying house limitations (beds, sofas, etc.), and intentionally lunging at her humans - causing bruising and (deep) scratching in the calves and lower thighs. We took her into our vet and tried to socialize her with our vet's (large, older, and patient) dog. It not only took the vet, but our technician (who has owned, raised and successfully trained many pitbulls) OVER AN HOUR to calm her down. "Lyric" was so viciously aggressive toward the vet's dog, other dogs in the office, and people that were walking by. She had to be removed, and the technician had to hold her head to the ground to regain control. This organization completely misrepresented not only the breed, but her characteristics as well. "Good with dogs" - nope. "Good with kids" - I sure hope so. Otherwise, they'll just be a target for her lunging. "Obedient" - nope. Lyric is registered with the city (as a pitbull mix), and we also microchipped her thinking she found her "fur-ever family." Nope. To the family that adopted her, we wish you much luck and hope all the best for you both. This organization has completely set her up to fail once again.... it took them almost 5 months to adopt her out again. What does that say?

I volunteered to foster a female dog via HOH who turned out to be pregnant. I never experienced whelping but I committed to see the mom and puppies through the process, even though I just wanted to help one dog. 11 puppies later, HOH was not supportive unless provoked. I provided food, wormer, supplies for mom and 11 pups for 9 months and got a whopping $60 from HOH plus a lot of backlash and slander when I objected to their policies. Now they will not let me know the outcome for 11 puppies and as for my expenses, they say, "deduct it on your tax report."

They have a terrible facility and they raise money for dogs that they never intend to help. They are liears and fraudulent.
