Mission: Helping In His Name Food Pantry provides emergency food and related items and hope to the hungry and needy in and around Henry County, Georgia. We provide safe and quality food, beverages and health products for distribution to an average of over 1,000 families per month in and around Henry County, Georgia. In 2010 alone, we have served over 7,000 people. Businesses; churches; civic, social, and common interest groups and organizations; and individuals make this possible by donating money, non perishable food items, toiletry items, and beverages to The Food Pantry. With your contribution, we are able to assist in feeding a family of 4 an average of 2 meals a day for a month for $30. With your virtual can drive donations, we are able to purchase 1 lb. of food for about $.16 - that’s 3 cans of food for every can of food you can donate! We are able to provide food for an individual for one meal for about $. 25 per person. Literally, every penny counts at the Pantry! Volunteers make this possible by sorting, inspecting and packing food boxes for our clients. This a fun, hands-on project for businesses, churches, civic groups, schools, families, any group and individuals! You will sort thousands of pounds of food for the hungry during your project. Group sizes of 1- 20 people per shift during the week. Days & Times: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9am - 1 pm Tuesday & Thursay 6pm - 8 pm Ages: 8 yrs and older.
