As a man society looks down on you when you are victimized. I went through a few resources until I found you, thank you for connecting me to the correct place and for shedding a light into the darkness.
I highly recommend Helping Hands Resource Center and Nurturing Lives. I took the series called Pathways to healing. As a victim of Domestic Violence, Karen provided an excellent presentation and offered several documents for my use. She has a wealth of information and allows a lot of time for questions & answers. If you are looking for a great webinar on Trauma & Recovery please attend this series, you will be glad you did.
Helping Hands is a great non-profit organization. I love the educational worshops/webinars. I love that Karen has a heart for the survivors of DV and SA. I love that she offers many free resources to low income families and that she is able to empathize. I love that she is honest and transparent, and that she not afraid to speak about her own experience to help build others. Definitely one of the best non-profits!
I’ve been volunteering since 2016. From the first event, I was heavily impacted by their mission and their advocacy with domestic violence. Helping Hands is an organization that does whatever it can to help someone in need. The answer is never no.
Through helping hands my children’s were able to receive their school supplies, as a single mother I’m beyond grateful that they were able to help assist my children.
Thank you for your support and kindness and all those who contribute to help children and single mothers/ fathers. Thank you so much for all that you do !

I have been apart of Helping Hands Resource Center for 10 years. I started at 15 years old as a volunteer. Volunteering not only helped me with school credit and hours, but a great passion for wanting to help others. When i graduated from university and received my Bachelor’s in Sociology, I knew I wanted a more serious role in the organization. So I’ve been working alongside with the founder Karen Gonzalez who shares the same drive as I do. One of the things I am proud of at helping hands are the drives we participate in. Such as, giving back to school supplies, food for thanksgiving and adopting a family during Christmas. At helping hands, we want to help those in need and support them on their healing journeys.
As the founder of Helping Hands Resource Center Inc., I am incredibly proud of the journey we have undertaken since our inception. When I first envisioned this organization, my goal was to create a safe haven for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, offering them the resources and support they need to rebuild their lives.
Over the years, we have grown tremendously, expanding our programs to include trauma-informed community groups, prevention education, and a donation closet that provides essentials to those in need. Witnessing the resilience and transformation of the individuals and families we serve has been profoundly rewarding.
Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers work tirelessly to fulfill our mission, and their unwavering commitment inspires me every day. The support from our community has been invaluable, and together, we have been able to make a significant impact.
I am grateful for the opportunity to lead such a passionate organization and look forward to continuing our work, ensuring that every person who walks through our doors feels empowered, supported, and hopeful for the future. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Your contributions make a world of difference.
