I have mixed feelings about this organization. I volunteered through them in Nepal in April 2009 as a dentist. The trip was well-organized in terms of logistics, but it was quite expensive, and I did very little dental work. Helping Hands does have hospitals and clinics throughout Nepal, but I still question exactly where my money went beyond the travel and room and board. I would recommend that volunteers with this organization only go to placements outside of Kathmandu where the need is greater.
