Helping Hands for the Deaf deeply cares about Deaf families and individuals who are struggling financially even to the point of homelessness. Weekly their staff delivers food and resources to Deaf people living in homeless camps and finds affordable housing for those in need. Additionally HHD offers training in money management, job skills, independent living skills, literacy, and ASL. I have seen first-hand the impact of their work over the past 10 years, servicing over 450 Deaf clients, whose lives have been changed for the better. Since the pandemic the number of clients has doubled over those requesting services prior to 2020.
HHD depends upon donations and business contributions for daily operations, without which they could not provide support to the numbers of clients requesting help.
