It is so important for the focus of autism organizations to be on employment of young adults as they transition out of secondary school. HAPPE is driven by the passion of Larry Rothman who is unwavering in his mission. I worked at a local university and Larry was always seeking ways to collaborate to expand and strengthen his mission. I participated in a parent education evening that he organized and saw how hungry the parents of young adults are for information and support.
I have been working with Dean Wood and his team for 14 years, and have always found them to be not only professional, but exceptionally gracious and caring people who treat their clientele like family. They have been central to our family's growth and we can't thank them enough.

HAAPE is a fantastic organization dedicated to serving Adults with Autism. They consistently are doing good in the community and always looking for opportunities to make the world a better place. I have seen first hand their dedication and the support they have provided and cannot wait to see what's next!!
What an amazing platform to help these young adults find not only employment, but a career. . Most are extremely intelligent and laser focused; two qualities that will be highly appreciated by any prospective employer. What HAAPE is accomplishing is a testament to how far we've come as a community. Well done HAAPE!

Helping Adults with Autism Perform and Excel (HAAPE) and United Community Options of Broward partnered in 2018 to create the first of its kind (in South Florida), Social Enterprise SPECTRUMTECH. Located in Fort Lauderdale, SPECTRUMTECH trains and employs Adults on the Autism Spectrum in the last phase of software testing known as User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Through this partnership I have witnessed the positive impact made to the lives of the individuals participating in this program. HAAPE is truly an organization that is living out its mission.
Our firm, and its partners, over the past year have been blessed by interacting with the HAAPE Team and its work in the community. The organization has a tremendous impact and offering to adults with Autism in a society where they are typically offered little through youth and then outcast as adults. The organization has made leaps and strides in research and programs both engaging the mainstream youth to engage in clubs at the high school level, and to help adults with autism thrive and contribute to the community in adulthood. Thank you Larry and team for having such a place in your hearts and passion for your organization!
HAAPE is a wonderful organization that does great work to help some very deserving, kind hearted people. It hits really close to home for me personally.
I've been involved with HAAPE for nearly two years, and continue to be impressed with the level of community engagement the organization has managed to collect; from adult volunteers, to high school activists, to employer partners. The organization is exceptionally mission-focused and continually looking for new opportunities to serve their clients.
A colleague of mine is heavily involved with HAAPE and he helps High School graduates get through the Broward College Avionics Repair training. He runs the Avionic Program and with this training, the graduates will have a better opportunity at obtaining jobs within the industry and at Aviation (avionics) Repair shops.
This is a very worthwhile Nonprofit Organization that helps to prepare young adults with Autism to find employment! It really addresses an unmet need for young adults! It is an amazing organization that has made a huge impact in South Florida and now in the U.S. as well!
This organization does work that is so badly needed. There are countless young people that are either on, or close to being on the Spectrum for autism that society largely ignores. These young people need help and caring and training to land themselves as productive members of society and that is exactly what Haape is so great at. I know first hand of the tremendous work and effort that is put in by its founders with the only benefit to them being the satisfaction of helping those in need and watching them succeed so beautifully. Bless them for all they are doing every single day to help these youngsters.
participated on a virtual call - I was very impressed with their plan and look forward to helping the organization. they provide an important service to our community, and will likely improve the lives of these children with special needs.
HAAPE.org deserves to be recognized as one of the best non-profit.
The work it does and help it provides to both adults with autism and the companies that employees them is tremendous. They are too often forgotten and the work that can be performed thanks to such organization is commendable.
Thank you and keep up the good work HAAPE (and what better name for it )!!!
HAAPE has an amazing charter here in South Florida to help graduates with autism get trained and into the workforce. The Avionics repair and training program with Broward College as well as the Software / IT Testing solutions offered through SpectrumTech are proving to be viable and effective ways for the organization to connect the dots between recruitment, training, and employment for this underserved, valuable, and much needed segment of our community.
I am pleased to be involved with HAAPE and thrilled to be volunteering my time to help with all of their initiatives.
I am proud to be on the Board of HAAPE and have been a part of it since its start-up almost 5 years ago. The dedication of the people involved has helped HAAPE to get connected to very influential people in the autism arena. It has no overhead or administrative costs so 98% of funds raised go towards programs and scholarships funded by HAAPE. The Foundation is dedicated to addressing the issues of employment, as this is the key factor in profoundly changing the lives of people with Autism. HAAPE is an IRS approved 501 c-3 non-profit organization. For more information about HAAPE and its programs, please go to www.HAAPE.org. You will truly be amazed.
