I found helpguide when looking to calm down from a panic attack, their resources helped calm me down so I figured I'd drop a review.
HelpGuide.org was there when I needed to learn more about my depression. I was diagnosed at 16 and didn't understand how to manage my depression. No one talked about it, and I felt like I was the only one suffering because I had no knowledge about my illness. When I discovered HelpGuide I realized that there were so many resources out there to help me and my specific issues. I can't thank HelpGuide enough for the support, their content is truly unmatched.
What an amazing and free resource for anybody!! It is particularly helpful as an adjuvant to medical psychiatry or psychology, or even as an alternative!!! I frequently use their stress relief tools and meditations to keep me calm, focused, and happy!

My experience with HelpGuide has been as freelance writer. I have contributed several blogs on mental health issues, including body shaming, CBT, anxiety, and BDD. I'm extremely supportive of the mission of the organization with its focus on reducing the stigma of mental health, and educating the public on important topics pertaining to psychological well-being. Providing helpful ways to manage mental health conditions is a key component of their engaging communications. As a Wellness Practitioner/Coach, I am interested in heightening awareness and insight with my clients in their ongoing holistic health journey. Every article I've read has been well written and helpful. I confidently share articles with others because I know they're credible and also a good source of support. Thanks for what you do.
HelpGuide gave me the just the joy-generating elixir I needed! Between COVID low energy and brain-fog, I just couldn’t get going this morning. One lethargic thing led to another until I happened on the HelpGuide article on gratitude. The practical tips on cultivating gratitude were really helpful. I ended with the first TED talks video (Hailey Bartholomew) under the " Get More Help” section. Wow! You guys offer so much good content! It goes on and on.
I’m in a happy brain-fog now, grateful for the low-energy that forces me to sit and take time to look at the beauty and goodness all around me—and tell others.
Being a co-founder of Ingenium ABP, an NGO in Mexico that provides support and education to people that face a mental Health condition, and that promotes awareness amongst the community about the importance of caring for our mental wellbeing, I have found the resources shared by HelpGuide most valuable.
The depth, knowledge and warmth in which the information is shared has no comparison. We are very greatful for all the resources that Helpguide shares. They have been, no doubt, of great guidance to our educational products.
This web site was recommended to me a few years ago. It has very helpful content and I have returned to it several times when I have needed help. The information is definitely authoritative and credible and has encouraged me to make necessary and positive changes to my life. As a senior who is struggling with aging issues and the loneliness of being a widow I have found the content on those topics to be very helpful.
Helpguide.org is an incredible resource and I've read through many of the articles, along with sending some along to friends. For me, it's been great advice on blended families since I'm now in one, and also I've really benefitted from all the info on anxiety. If you are feeling lost, this is the place to look for answers!
HelpGuide should be called HopeGuide because they provide so much hope and inspiration to living in a healthy way. Their articles are timely and comprehensive and helped me and so many.
HelpGuide is an extraordinarily important organization. They provide resources and information that help people live their best lives and navigate challenging times. I have found the articles -- which are well-written and relevant to my life -- to be helpful and comforting, and I think there is something here for everyone.
I get inspired by HelpGuide's Insta posts every day. There is always something that is thought-provoking, uplifting, or self-affirming. I often share their hopeful messages with my grown daughters and my friends. I also enjoy reading the many articles about self-empowerment and mental health. The depth of the information is incredible and so helpful.
HelpGuide is simply one of the very best online resources for boosting mental health wellness that I've ever come across. There are too many wonderful things to say about this organization for me to even try to begin to describe. Just, thank you!
I came aware of "Help Guide" since many years ago! One detail attracting my attention is the "simple-language" they write their articles and the "down-to-earth" ideas to use and practice with those who need help and understanding. Ideas are practical, there is a sense of caring and compassion to others. I have even used their ideas to myself. I trust them and I recommend them as a professional (when I used to be employed) and as a simple-everyday person!
Helpguide has been my guide to life for many years but in the past 2 years it has been my cherished companion through the last 2 Covid years. I always learn so much from it about mental and physical health and how to adopt healthy and and smart strategies for my own life, I have a very large extended family and at my recommendation they have turned to it as well and felt empowered to change and improve their lives as I have. Their research on the hot topics of the day and their positive outlook for all our futures is transformative. I know they speak the truth which they constantly update. And all without ads so they never "sell" anything except their wisdom. What a gift to our world!

They are making difference.
Today, our Mental Health is very important, they are making this possible and free to all person.
I love them
My aunt introduced me to this website after I told her about my depression and I have been using it ever since. Everything is extremely helpful and it’s very resourceful. I would recommend this site to anyone even if you do not have a mental illness. Because it also provides helpful information about supporting someone with a mental illness. A+ in my book!
I follow @helpguideorg on Twitter and it's been a godsend to read their inspiring tweets, stories, link referrals. With so much sad/bad news these days, esp on social media, it's helpful to keep my head above water with their messages of hope. Attached is just one small example of one that's helped me as I recently got spooked by someone walking past me in a hardware store NOT WEARING A MASK in spite of mandates currently in place where I live. They take the time out to post these and for that I am so grateful ❤
Each fall, I succumb to a bout of depression that I know is Seasonal Affective Disorder. Knowing that, I manage it every year. This year....adding the Pandemic restrictions and the nation’s political turmoil....has been particularly rough. A friend of mine suggested I take a look at your website. I focused on the articles on depression, and particularly on the Covid articles on how to cope. Extremely well written and helpful. I greatly appreciate your efforts.

I have been using Helpguide’s meditations during this pandemic. They have made such a difference for me, especially with managing stress. I’m so grateful that they’re offered for free. Thank you so much for all that you do!
Extraordinarily helpful newsletter full of excellent articles and advice about so many different kinds of mental conditions. I have a close friend who suffers from serious anxiety and depression and through HelpGuide I've been able to educate myself about these conditions and find ways to be a better friend. Compassionate listening and daily checking in has served to let her know that she isn't alone in these difficult times. Though her depression has been exacerbated by the physical distancing required to stay Covid=safe during the Coronavirus pandemic, maintaining social closeness has been all the more important. My keeping in touch and knowing what's helpful to say and what's not helpful, are things I've learned from HelpGuide. I particularly appreciated the September 2020 issue. Thank you.
Helpguide.org is accessible to anyone, anywhere. So many of my associates have lost employment due to COVID and as a result, the financial losses have created stresses beyond what many can handle. Here you can find the information to help with remedies and methods for wellness. It is one of the most varied and objectivre factual sites for mental health information. This website requires support mainly to post articles and maintain the site. There is very little other overhead. This non profit provides an unequalled level of effectiveness. Many I know have accessed this site for both information and guidance.
I became aware of HelpGuide recently and am impressed with the amount of information available on many topics. I particularly enjoy the guided muscle relaxation after a stressful day. Preventing Alzheimer’s, Improving Memory, and Healthy Aging are particularly helpful and hopeful. Thank you!
I have used and recommended HelpGuide for many years! It is by far the best Go-To resource for mental wellness support. The articles give so much more than information. They help the reader feel supported and hopeful. These well-researched offerings are easy to read and understand. And, I appreciate that they are completely ad-free! What a gift to anyone who is curious, perhaps concerned about a friend or family member and/or someone who may have lost their way and needs a lift to get across the bridge to where they need to go. THANK YOU HelpGuide!!
Thank you so much for HelpGuide. The articles always resonate with me. They are so clearly written and I love that the articles always have several immediate steps we can take to start making a change today. Since the pandemic, I have forwarded the HelpGuide article on Coronavirus Anxiety to many friends and family members, who were finally able to find acceptance, during this time of such great uncertainty. Please keep up the good work.
Great resource! Has helped me cope with depression and anxiety. After years of suffering, I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.
As an adult, I was trying to juggle my teaching job, family, volunteer work, and was beginning to follow my dream of writing a novel––and my organization went out the window. The ADD I managed to cope with as a child unraveled into too many strands to manage. I tried Adderall, but it kept me up at night and robbed me of my creativity for writing. Then I discovered HelpGuide. The practical, easy to understand articles on managing ADD/ADHD were life changers.
Thank you for the good work you do! I recommend HelpGuide to everyone I meet who is struggling with psychological issues for themselves or family.
In 2014 I was struggling with panic disorder after years of living with moderate anxiety. While I was receiving therapy, and learning how to practice mindfulness and how to calm my body and experience the panic attacks differently, I still struggled at times. I found HelpGuide and it became my late night savior. I appreciated all the information about mental health that was informative but not too bogged down with in depth psychological details, and not too fluffy with feel-good platitudes.
I’m grateful that I found them in my time of need.
HelpGuide's message is hopeful, motivating, and empowering. The medical model of mental health often focuses on things outside of a person’s control. HelpGuide empowers people to take greater control of their mental health—a message that gives people hope and direction, while making them feel far less helpless.
We cover research discoveries and groundbreaking treatments. We stay on top of the latest breakthroughs in the psychological, social, and medical sciences, both through our own research and via our collaboration with Harvard Health Publications.
