Monica Kahn has dedicated over 20 years helping underserved women. She provides the women services free of charge wigs, prosthesis. scarves and beauty enhancement while the women undergo cancer treatment.
Her sensitivity and compassion are unrivaled. Helen's Room is a vital service for underserved women in the Los Angeles community and is well deserving of the award.

From having my first call returned to meeting one on one volunteer Katie, I was overwhelmed with kindness and support. Katie, a cancer survivor herself helped calm my nerves and help me pick out some items that would help me transition to the bald head club. What a relief to know that she had walked in my steps and could anticipate my potential needs before I did.
I'll admit that there was some tears but also some laughter during the wig try on process!

Helen's Room located at 860 Parkview Drive North, El Segundo, California 90245, (310)-524-9429, is a resource center for low income women with cancer. The Charity provides free of charge to cancer patients and their families a nurturing environment where they receive products and services for thier psychosocial, emotional and physical needs during and following cancer treatments. Helen's Room also provides support groups for cancer patients and their families. These services are designed to assist patients in the Los Angeles area who lack the financial resources to obtain these services and products.
