I worked for this organization for 3 years and am still owed $3,200! There are 2 other wage claims against them. Don’t give your hard earned money to people who refuse to pay their employees what they owe them
As my internship draws to a close and I reflect back on all I have learned, I realize what an excellent experience this has been. I gathered much knowledge in the classroom, but a hands-on approach with this organization has been invaluable. It has served as a beneficial ending to my formal education. I am truly grateful for this opportunity. A weeks before the semester started my program director came to me and said that all of my intern requests were full and provided me with the contact information for Helen’s Project as a backup option. When I called Helen’s Project to inquire about this internship, their response time was less than 24hrs which I found exquisite. When I went in for my interview Kayla and her staff were warm welcoming and exceeded all of my professional expectations. I believe this approach made the experience mirror that of an actual job search. Thanks again Helen’s Project!
I start as intern with Helen's Project. At first it was a little scary because I never in my life done case management or go out to field to provide food and clothes to the homeless people. Little by little I star to learn new things also meet new people in all this new events that I have attend. Working for this agency's it has help me to develop my social skills and to see what really happens in the background of a non- profit organization.
It took sometime, but they did help me find a place for me and my children. I was happy about that. I just was not happy how long it took. I could not be too mad though because they were honest with me about how long it would take for this to happen. If you want someone who is honest with you I would say go to them.
I started at Helen's Project as an intern and am still a a part of the team. Everything I learned about being a social worker and how to best serve my clients was learned at Helen's Project. I enjoy working here because I believe in the mission and the work being done. They give back and support the homeless population better than Helen's Project.
I started at Helen’s Project as an intern. While interning, I saw the true passion for change that this agency has. They don’t just stop at passion. This agency has the motivation and perseverance to see every goal through. They care so much about their clients and their community. It’s inspiring to say the least. So inspiring that I decided to continue volunteering here after graduation!
I choose to volunteer with this agency to help on an outreach day. While out there I was able to learn so much about the homeless community in Dallas and see them from a different light. I am grateful for the experience with this agency and the opportunities they bring.
Helen's Project is a name everyone should have in their back pockets and the fore front of their minds. Whether it be you, a family member or friend or someone in your community that is in need of support during a trying time, Helen's Project is there to work with people to help them rise like a Phoenix from the ashes. They do what they say they can do and if the client is doing as they promised to then nothing but pure magic happens!
This grassroots organization is taking names and making the community take notice with the incredible work they do!
Helen's Project is a wonderful organization that is not only for the clients but the staff and interns also. Everyone is patient and willing to help the clients that they encounter. It is a small but wonderful organization that does not get the recognition needed.
