The difference we make in the local Austin community is why I think this organization is so truly special. We help individuals with a hand up instead of a hand up and with the model of recycling money, we have the ability to continue to help future Austinites!

I've seen this nonprofit make an incredible impact on lives in the Austin community. From helping parents adopt a baby to paying for rising medical bills, Hebrew Free Loan Association of Austin is dedicated to helping Austinites get back on their feet.

Where else can you make a donation that keeps giving and giving over time? The money donated is never "spent", but is loaned out and repaid so that others in need may use that money again and again. As a board member of this organization, it is gratifying to see lives changed drastically by a simple interest-free loan: being able to make a mortgage payment when funds unexpectedly get tight, being able to pay medical bills when an accident leads to loss of employment, the ability to adopt a child when additional funds are needed, or the birth of a miracle baby after paying for needed fertility treatments. This organization truly changes lives, and does so in an intelligent and dignified manner!

I have been able to witness the impact of The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Austin. As a board member, I have been able to watch many families and individuals receive support from the HFLA. The HFLA is a special organization helping local, Jewish Austinites overcome small and large obstacles. These obstacles are not unique- we all face them at one point in our lives. I love being a part of the solution to help bridge the gap when we are called to help.
