Heaven on Earth helped during a time someone almost killed my beautiful Macy and it was the greatest gift anyone can give. My rescue and service companion and i we got another year of LIFE that is PRICELESS. I hope that Heaven on Earth can receive state funds or funds from some donors to keep them thriving! Macy and i are ETERNALLY GRATEFUL that Macy is not living in the sky thanks to Demitri and their love of pets... We had heart issues, food insecurity, and then leptospirosis broke out and Macy's liver went kablubluey...so we had to get tests ...and more things that would have cost more than a new car...Heaven on Earth is a diamond of PEOPLE WHO HAVE LOVE IN THEIR HEARTS ..XO Macy

Heaven on Earth is a model organization for the Los Angeles community! Not only do they help neighborhoods protect and maintain the stray cat population, but they also connect people to new, furry friends. I love volunteering with Heaven on Earth because they are so committed to their mission, and the people that work there are truly amazing.

My experience with Heaven on Earth has been exclusively with help trapping and fixing street cats. They were enormously helpful on 4 occasions and have helped me give several cats better lives. I still have 3 of the feral cats living on my property and they're all happy and healthy. Others have drifted away over the years. The youngest is my beloved baby Hartley who I trapped using a loan trap from HoE at Halloween in 2019 and he's now 3yrs old and indoor only.

The cat with yellow eyes is Hartley, the one with fangs is Honey aka Buns (honey buns lol) a friendly feral.

We adopted littermates (highly recommended, btw) from Heaven on Earth in July 2020 and had such a great experience I signed up for monthly donations right away. They have such a wonderful mission and engaging communications that when I saw they needed volunteers at my local Petsmart recently I jumped at the opportunity. Though I've only been volunteering a short time, the staff and volunteers I've met have all been wonderful, warm, and caring, and their partnership with Petsmart is really effective. It's so rewarding seeing the cats and kittens go home with their excited adopters! I feel so lucky to have found such a great organization that's providing such a wonderful service to so many in the community.

A longtime cat lover and advocate, I was heartened to discover Heaven On Earth when I was ready to adopt. They rescue cats from all over to give them a fighting chance. My sweet Siamese was bit by a dog from his previous owner and was surrendered. I adopted him immediately after meeting him! Then, when my mom moved to hospice care, I took in her cat that she adopted from Heaven On Earth. At his previous shelter, he stopped eating altogether and overgroomed his tail til there was no hair left. He was going to be put down, but Heaven On Earth intervened; they never gave up on him. They got him to start eating again and trusting humans little by little. The greatest honor of my life is spending time with my furry boys that the world gave up on. Heaven On Earth gave them a fighting chance for a better life, and it’s my greatest honor to be their dad. Thank you, Heaven On Earth!

It's clear everyone - staff and volunteers - really care about the kitties. I plan to continue fostering with them because it's so heartwarming to help the cats and kittens find homes.

I have been volunteering at Perry’s Place Heaven on Earth for 3 1/2 years and it’s been a real joy to work with not only the cats and kittens but also the staff and other volunteers. I participated in the Race for the rescues and also in the cat pawsitive program to train some of the shyer cats to be more adoptable. The people there really care about the cats and are always looking for ways to improve their lives. It is a wonderful place to visit and help out.

I had been looking for something to do as I close in on retirement after working since I was 15 years old. I just starting working 3 nights a week in mid- April and a week before I went back to work I saw a postcard that on one side said “you're Kitten me and on the other side the name and address of Perry’s Place. My sister who was visiting me from Hawaii saw the postcard and said isn’t this place like 5 minutes from your house!’? Let’s go check it out!! She knew I wanted to volunteer to do something with cats in my spare time so I wouldn’t go crazy when I retired so we went over and were very impressed with the care, cleanliness and friendliness of everyone we met. I asked about volunteering and was told to fill out an application online and would be contacted about orientation. I received an email the next day telling me to come to orientation the following day. I actually went 2 weeks later and the next week I started volunteering for cat socialization to help the cats already living there to be more adoptable. I sat with them, played with them and tried to learn all their names, their personalities and their past history if known. I also learned about various medical conditions they had , none of which were scary to me as I have worked in the medical field my whole career. This started in the beginning of May this year and as kitten season had started people were needed to clean little stinky babies with no Moms to groom them , weigh and feed them. I was oriented at how to do these things and since then I have been spending around 4-5 hrs a week on my days off from work helping with these littlest babies. I truly enjoy helping with all the wonderful cats and kittens who have a new chance at life because of this wonderful no kill sanctuary and forever home for those cats who are hard to adopt for various reasons. It is also an adoption center, spay and neuter program and a wonderful place to volunteer. In just a few month my life has become so much fuller after working with all these wonderful people who love and cherish cats as much as I do and with these beautiful creatures who respond so well to kindness. I have found my forever home away from home at Perry’s Place and would encourage anyone with a love for cats to come and volunteer, visit and adopt one of our beautiful residents.

I have been working with the organization for 8 years. They are just an amazing group. They helped me understand all bout cat rescue. They helped me spay/neuter over 10 cats in my neighborhood. They also have an open donation policy. You can visit their lovely sanctuary almost anytime and see exactly the impact your donation has on the community. It is a great feeling to know that you are really helping and see you contribution dollars at work.

This organization is the real deal, they have an impressive adoption center, a clinic, a large space dedicated to hand feeding kittens . They have helped me spay/neuter every stray that shows up in our backyard for a meal. :) . All the while keeping it real with the community. You can see how donations and volunteers can really make a difference. My husband and I are proud to call this our favorite rescue.

As one who donates monthly, they keep me informed on the beautiful work that they do and I get to see the cats and hear their stories. They always answer personally and quickly if I write to them. I highly recommend them as an organization with integrity and compassion.

I loved adopting one sweet cat from this place, that I went back and adopted another cat a year later! Heaven on Earth impressed me with the level of utmost care and concern for the well being of their cats. My oldest, Simba, had a myriad of health issues. At his old shelter, he was going to be euthanized. Heaven on Earth came in and saved the day— not only giving him a second chance, but literally nursing him back to health. You must understand- Simba was not eating and needed a feeding tube, refused to be touched by humans, and had removed all the hair from his own tail. His previous life had been so traumatic and everyone had given up on him. But Heaven on Earth nursed him to health and gave him the chance to have a healthy and happy life. Today, Simba loves playing with his dozens of toys, getting all the pets from his humans, but best of all, loves napping next to his brother, Casper. He’s particularly fond of listening to Barbra Streisand on vinyl during these quiet moments.

I started volunteering here in 2018 and have really enjoyed it. I’ve done a lot of mobile events, socialization, enrichment and special projects like filming and marketing. One of my fosters (Bear—see photo) found his forever home in Malibu, where he lives like a king; the other (Keller) was deaf and blind and is now a sanctuary cat. I look forward to participating in Race for the Rescues each year, and I always find my time here rewarding and fulfilling.

I have been involved with Heaven on Earth for over fifteen years and have seen firsthand its incredible upward trajectory. From its beginnings as a sanctuary for those cats often overlooked for adoption, this highly reputable organization has expanded its lifesaving programs to include a foster program, a hospice foster program and expanded its adoption program to include adoption events at local area PetSmarts as well at its adoption center, Perry’s Place. It’s SpayShip Transport Program has facilitated the spay & neuter of over 9,000 cats since its inception. The Heaven on Earth clinic located at the West Valley Shelter has helped spay & neuter over 1,850 dogs and cats. The staff is courteous and professional and the volunteers are highly dedicated. I highly recommend this professionally run rescue!

I began volunteering for Heaven on Earth in 2006 and joined the Board in 2007. The experience has been life-changing and I am so proud to be part of such an amazing organization. The staff and volunteers are dedicated to our cats. Everyone is so supportive and respectful. The hard working Board is exceptional and really gets things done! I am amazed at how far the organization has come since that first time I found out about them at a World Fest Celebration. As Director of our SpayShip Transport Program, I am partial to this program; helping the public help to the community cats in their care. We’ve facilitated spay/neuter of over 2,000 cats since the program’s inception in 2009. I am also proud to note that we return phone calls and emails to every single inquiry. We consistently hear this from the people we help.

I have attended some of their fundraising events which were fantastic. I loved visiting and playing with the cats, being with people who just love the cats, and so appreciating how lovingly each cat is treated, from kittens to seniors. I really know my donations are being put to good use. I have recommended them to people who are interested in adopting a cat. I already have my legal limit I have rescued from the outside. However that did not stop me from falling in love with their cats. Giving donations allows me to give love to all the cats.

Heaven on Earth/Perry's Place is WONDERFUL! Over the last few years, I have adopted two 10-year-old cats and a have one hospice foster cat from them. The people who work there are amazing, and bend over backwards to help. When I have to leave town, they graciously take my hospice foster cat, who takes pills, ear drops and IV's, because it's too much for a roommate or house-sitter to handle. The med tech crew and vet are amazing, and have tried many different solutions to stop the smell and irritation of my hospice foster cats' stinky ears (these drops are the best so far; thank you!).
The staff at Heaven on Earth/Perry's Place cares so much for their rescued cats: seniors, disabled and skittish cats few people would take in, along with easily adoptable cats and kittens. I look forward to them reopening so I can visit the different rooms and play and pet the cats.
Thanks you for providing me with my lovely fur babies Dusty (R.I.P.), Pepe and Cassidy. Dusty passed away of cancer a few months ago, but he gave me almost 3 wonderful years of unconditional love; he was a true velcro/lap cat. Pepe is now 12 and Cassidy is 14, and both are doing pretty good! I hope I have a long relationship with Heaven on Earth/Perry's Place!

I never had a cat because I am allergic to them. So I knew nothing about them. When a feral mamma cat gave birth to her 3rd litter in my back yard, I knew I had to do something to stop all these little babies from being born into a world with no one to take care of them. I asked friends, I went online, I scrambled to try to find advice and help. I had no idea what to do. Then, by the grace of God, I came across Heaven on Earth Society for Animals. I called the phone number and within a day I got a call back from an angel. Her name is Jennifer Parsignault. She is the head of the SpayShip program. She explained that I could trap the cats and have them neutered at no cost as long as I would agree to take them back to my backyard and care for them. I was hesitant about the commitment, discussed it with my husband and we were on board. Feeling uneasy about trying to trap the cats myself with a trap that Heaven on Earth would provide, Jennifer said she could send a trapper to my home to do the job. Allen was an expert and he got not only mamma and baby but also dad and another cat in the group. Off they went and the next day were returned to me. I've had them for over 4 years. I have learned to love and respect them, to enjoy their entertaining antics and to realize how blessed I am to have them and Heaven on Earth in my life. I gladly donate to the nonprofit and hope, through the donations of many others, their tireless work can continue for many years to come. So far they have helped an amazing 8,000 cats!!!

We were looking for a cat to add to our family and when I saw Dolly online, we just knew it had to be her! We went to Heaven on Earth to meet with Dolly. When we first saw her, she was extremely standoffish and even hissed at us. We were then told Dolly's story: she was three years old and has never had a home. She was in the cat sanctuary for the entirety of her life. She was pregnant when she was brought there and all of her kittens were adopted, but little Dolly never was. She was in the "shy" cat group and was very apprehensive, but we decided to take on the task to show her what love means and to give her her forever home, finally.

It took her 6 months to trust us enough to pet her. It took her over a year to feel comfortable enough to cuddle near us. We have had Dolly for over FOUR years now and she is the biggest cuddle bug and all she wants is to be pet and receive love and attention. She melts our hearts to this day and we are so thankful to Heaven on Earth for taking such incredible care of Dolly until we found her.

I have adopted three cats from three different rescues within Los Angeles County. Heaven on Earth is by far the best rescue I have ever adopted from. Before I adopted my third cat, I could tell that the kitties at this rescue were treated a lot better than other rescues and that the volunteers actually care about the kitties and where they end up. After we adopted our cat, they actually followed up to see how she was doing in her new home. My other two cats didn't get any sort of follow up. After our wonderful experience with adoption, I decided I wanted to volunteer with them. I took a tour of the facilities and learned about the process by which Heaven on Earth acquires kitties, the stages kitties go through before being considered adoptable (surgeries, healthcare, socialization, etc). I signed up to be a substitute caretaker and event volunteer. Unfortunately, a lot of this was put on hold due to Covid and the shutdowns but I have been kept up-to-date on all of the adoptions that have been done virtually and which kitties are being fostered. Heaven on Earth is comprised of a few actual employees but mostly it's a large group of passionate volunteers and a community that donates to them as much as possible. The kitties they adopt out are well cared for and obviously loved. They integrate into their new families so well because such great care is taken when finding the new pet parents. I tell everyone about Heaven on Earth and try to donate items/money as often as I can because I truly believe in what they are doing and believe them to be the most honest and passionate rescue in LA.

Heaven on Earth, and its leadership, came through in a crisis - when time had run out and no one else could help - and dynamically moved heaven and earth (no pun intended) using creativity and teamwork in order to put themselves into a position to be able to help. They did this because of their devotion and dedication to our magnificent little fur friends the cats. This is an outstanding rescue organization and well worth any donation, large and small, that can be given to it. Thank you Heaven on Earth.

I found the sweetest kitten to join my feline family...they helped me integrate my darling London...she is the most loving but also the most aerodynamic kitten I know...she gets into my shoulders and nuzzles her head into mine...she just melts me...at night she goes under the covers by my upper torso and rolls onto her back so I can rub her belly soothing us both until one of us falls asleep... that is the calm side of London...at play she fetches... yelling loudly...but also jumps so high to catch toys that I throw for her...seeming to hang Matrix like in the air before doing a 360 degree turn whilst kicking her back legs out... suffice it to say I adore her...I have her heart and she mine...thank you so much to Perry's Place for the kitten version of my soul sister...

We adopted 2 kitties from Heaven on Earth and could not be happier. My husband saw a young cat who was flirting with him at the shelter. When he asked me if I would consider adopting, I said yes. When we called Heaven on Earth, they informed us that the cat we were interested in had a litter mate and that they would not separate them. It was a 2 for 1 deal. We took both cats home and what a joy they have brought us. The "bonus" cat (Bunny) turned out to be the sweetest, most loving cat ever. Twilight (the flirty one) is sharp as a whip and so funny to watch as she tries to figure out how things work. They entertain us every day and we can't imagine our lives without them. The adoption process was a lengthy (we came on a busy day) and there are a LOT of rules, but now that we have our kitties, I understand why they insist that adoptors know exactly what they are getting in to. They want you to be successful so you can be a forever home. We continue to support HOE by making them our birthday charity on FaceBook and attending their annual gala.

It’s been 7 years since I adopted my sweet baby girl Gracie (or Dusty as they named her) from Heaven on Earth society from PetSmart in Santa Clarita. This is sort of a mixed review about both the cat and the foundation. In my opinion, both are perfect. When I went in to adopt Gracie, Heaven on Earth contacted me back very quickly and made it extremely easy for me to adopt her. They also made sure she was healthy and up to date on her shots and whatnot. I also appreciated the fact that they took the time to check my home out and make sure that I was capable of adopting an animal and that they weren’t just giving animals away to people who weren’t fit to have them. Excellent organization and totally recommend them to anyone who wants to adopt/rescue a cat.

I got involved with cat rescue, when I learned of the horrible statistics regarding cats and kittens, in the Southern California area. Because of our climate, kitten season just never ends. I do whatever I can to help the LA County shelter felines, especially at the Downey shelter, where the kill rate is totally unacceptable.

Heaven on Earth has saved thousands of lives over the years, and I am so grateful, that many of their saves are Downey kitties.

Perry's Place, the home of Heaven on Earth, is a wondrous thing. I have been there on several occasions, and It is spotlessly clean, has terrific "apartments" for the resident cats, both permanent and those up for adoption. The staff is amazing, kind, and motivated. I can't say enough good things about this terrific non-profit.

I hope that some day, there will be no need for this back-and heartbreaking work, but until then, Heaven on Earth is leading the way to a no-kill city.

They have the most amazing sanctuary. It is clean, and well run, and the kitties there are so well taken care of. I have been there several times, and each time, I am impressed with the people and the pride they take in representing such a marvelous place. The money they raise is always very well spent, providing the best of care to their charges. There is no doubt that the kitties, friendly or shy, perfectly healthy or with special needs, young or old, all benefit from Heaven on Earth. They have very successful adoptions events, and many of their kitties do find forever homes. I hope some day, there will be no need for such a place (as Los Angeles will have solved their over-population of cats), but until that glorious day, Heaven on Earth is there for the unwanted and unloved cats.

Great people. Wonderful cats. Helped me find four lovely cat companions - three of whom were brothers I adopted all at once to fill my house with happy purrs and chirrups. A couple of years later I added a lovely little tortie kitty who decided I was her person and jumped into my arms at an event at the Sanctuary. How could I not take her home? If you want to add a cat or a few to your home, this is the place to go. From little tiny babies to older more settled and staid adults, they have them all. And they will help you make the absolutely purrfect match.

Couldn't recommend this place more. We were looking for a kitty to complement our hyper 6 month old kitten, and after browsing online we went to Heaven on Earth with the intention of meeting Pink. It was instant love!

Pink is SUPER sweet and well socialized; all cats are also vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and you are provided with their medical history. The staff are awesome and knowledgeable about the cats' particular needs and quirks. They really want the best for the cats, and truly care about matching you with the right pet. They were firm on Pink needing to be adopted to a home with another cat due to his energy level, which I totally agree with and is exactly what we wanted! My two kitties are now inseparable and love chasing each other around all day (and night...) They're perfect together. Thank you to everyone for your hard work taking care of these kitties - we love Pink so much!

It is an honor and a privilege to express my deepest gratitude to Heaven on Earth by writing a review.

I was so impressed with the thoroughness of Heaven on Earth’s adoption process—and the care and compassion that the staff demonstrated toward their kittens and cats—that I became a volunteer, devoting nearly three days a week to assist in adopting, cleaning, and socializing cats and kittens.

My volunteer experience has allowed me to see firsthand all the organization’s daily responsibilities. As a sanctuary, Heaven on Earth provides care for the youngest kittens, many of whom are rescued from shelters, arriving motherless and in need of medical care. After training, I assisted in the care for these kittens, from washing to feeding to socializing them. I have seen the most vulnerable shelter kittens regain their health and then thrive in the sanctuary—assisting in their adoption to their new “forever homes” is amazing.

The most radical love that I have experienced at Heaven on Earth is how their caregivers, medical team, and volunteers give to the elder, feral, and special needs cats who call Heaven on Earth home—some have lived at the sanctuary since its first days at Perry’s Place. When the elder and special needs cats are adopted, you can feel the love that everyone has for those longtime residence who are moving into a new home.

In addition, I am impressed with the compassion that the organization demonstrates not only to kitten and cats, but also to its adopters. Once a kitten/cat has been adopted, staff make themselves available to lend assistance in helping adopters and the kittens/cats adjust to each other. Follow up emails and phone calls, of course; and most importantly, home visits are scheduled, if a cat or adopter needs help. Invaluable service. That’s commitment! That’s why I volunteer!

As a volunteer, I am an advocate for Heaven on Earth because of its total and lifelong care that it provides for cats, kittens, and adopters.

I have witnessed this group rescue so many kittens and cats, caring for them through so many traumas, illnesses, and so on. They make sure they all go to good homes, and care for them until they do, with such deep love, and respect, for their lives and comfort.
They helped me rescue a cat some time ago; then, sadly, when I couldn't keep him, they took him back. I hope he found a great home. (Since that time, I've discovered my allergies won't allow a cat back into my life at the moment, but I love them from afar.)
They are so giving and kind. I feel honored to be friends with one of their staff members, and so I get to hear wonderful stories. Heaven on Earth is well worth supporting. Love them.

I have three wonderful cats that I adopted at different times from this rescue. They are extremely caring and want to ensure that the transition for both the cat and the family go as smoothly as possible. They work hard to find great homes for the cats and to find a great fit for what the adopters are looking for. There is no judgment based on what they think you "should" get, only careful and wise recommendations as to what might work best in your home. They do their best to ensure that the cat will be in a safe and loving environment and that the adopter(s) have a good understanding of the individual cat's needs.

Hi, after almost 20 years as a volunteer at the city shelters the politics and death rate finally got to me and i left. However, leaving also left an empty place in my heart and though i looked at other rescues it seemed the politics overwhelmed the placing of the animals until a friend called and directed me to Perry's place. Here i found a place where the cats health and welfare were the main concern followed as a close second to finding them good forever homes. Here the volunteers way outnumber the paid staff and there isn't a one that doesn't do it for the love of the animals. I started out at the sanctuary and worked my way up to doing mobiles. We don't care if you have a special room for kitty, just as long as you have a loving heart and will keep them safe. I love it here and will help as long as i am able. Debbie

Half way through my fifth year as a volunteer with Heaven on Earth, I continue to enjoy the benefits of this experience. Every other Saturday, I get to show off adorable kitties at Pet Smart in Santa Clarita. I find that it is so satisfying to play just a small part in the adoption process.

This is Jane, one of my five rescues. They are such an important part of my life.

Thanks to Heaven on Earth for making this all possible.

Heaven on Earth is truly the perfect name for this most amazing organization! I am so lucky to get to volunteer at Heaven on Earth and learn first hand what love on a large scale looks like. The incredibly knowledgeable staff treats all kitties (and people too!) with such kindness, care, and compassion. The organization's devotion to saving the lives of cats in such a joyful and respectful manner is more than inspiring and is just a real gift to the world. They've literally thought of everything to ensure their precious Perry's Place sanctuary residents are healthy and content. Even more, their expertly thought out plans to find good homes for the cats (at the sanctuary or via mobile events) and their outstanding adoption materials make it easy to have a happy adoption experience. I can't say enough about this dedicated and wonderful group of people! If you want to see Heaven on Earth please stop by and see these kitty and human angels in action :)

I have been involved with Heaven on Earth for a number of years. I may be biased but I would not be a part of this organization if I did not believe in the great life-saving work they do! The staff is hard working and committed to the cats and kittens in their care and the dedicated volunteers keep the place humming! One of their life-saving programs is the SpayShip transport Program which offers trapping and transport to and from spay/neuter clinics. This program is free to the community and is vital in keeping under aged kittens from entering the shelter system. Since the program’s inception SpayShip has services over 6,000 cats!

Heaven on Earth is a superb charity whose care for cats is evident in everything they do. Working as a volunteer, I have had the ability to work with most of the staff and the director and everyone is incredibly enthusiastic about their mission to provide homes for cats and to reduce the burden of county shelters in an effort to make LA a no-kill city. Additionally, Heaven on Earth provides a sanctuary that can provide a safe and permanent housing situation for those cats not able to adopted to homes for health reasons. The staff and volunteers at the sanctuary place the utmost care and concern for every cat and are great at matching potential adopters to their ideal cat. Over the past few years, I have seen Heaven on Earth grow by leaps and bounds in the number of cats adopted and saved from county shelters, signifying that the charity is under great leadership and can continue to make greater strides for our feline friends and our community.

I got acquainted with them several years ago when my husband discovered their work. We were looking for some place to take our cats should anything happen to us both. My first visit to Perry's Place was impressive. It was clean and they took great care to treat each cat according to his/her health needs. We decided we want our cats to go here. What better praise? These folks are focused on feline issues and they truly care about them. I then supported their activities and eventually came on the board. They are creative, ethical and committed to making this organization thrive. You won't be disappointed with Heaven on Earth as an adopter, a volunteer or a board member!

When I first adopted two cats from Heaven On Earth, i became aware of the passion this group has for animals. They CARE From my first introduction to a volunteer adoption counselor in Petsmart, to the process of ensuring the cats would have a good life in my home--this group displayed great organization and communication. I was impressed! Their website became one of my regular spots to visit, and it inspired me to later become a volunteer. I saw what lengths this group goes to to make a better life for animals, and to coordinate efforts with other rescue groups and shelters. Heaven on Earth deserves high praise not only for saving lives, spay/neuter, and giving hope to innocent creatures but also for enriching the lives of all the humans who adopt or become active in a non-profit. "Lead by example" i am forever grateful for my friends at Heaven On Earth and for helping me channel energy to make the world a better place.

Nice place and the cats seemed well taken care of, but the women there are very rude, particularly one older woman who seemed like she was in charge and actively discouraged me from thinking about adopting a second cat because my cat was older and "set in his ways" (never heard that one before), told me they had "enough" volunteers when I inquired about helping out, angrily yelled at my friend for not knowing she needed to apply sanitizer before touching the cats, and was just generally unpleasant and downright hostile from the moment we walked in there. I also filled out the form with my contact info but was never added to the mailing list. These are the kinds of people you have running your institution?

It's unfortunate I didn't get the woman's name, otherwise I'd be complaining about her directly. Just a nasty, rude, unpleasant woman whose bad attitude has definitely spread among the others there. Fire her.

Heaven on Earth came to my rescue while taking care of my father in the San Fernando, CA, area I befriended a feral kitten, I called Toey ( she had extra toes ) when she was about 6-7 months old the Tom cats started coming around. I contacted Heaven on Earth for their SpayShip program and they brought a cage to trap her, picked her up, spayed her, & gave her shots, then brought her back to be released...all free of charge as she was feral then. No unwanted kittens, and Toey is a very lovable cat now.

Heaven on Earth is an awesome cat rescue that is doing a lot to save animal lives in Los Angeles.

From trapping and neutering feral cats to prevent more wild births to pulling vulnerable cats and kittens from high-kill city shelters to providing a cage-free place to stay for older, not-likely-to-be-adopted cats, they are in my opinion the premier rescue in the LA area. It is great helping them make all this happen as a volunteer!

I am so proud to be a part of the Heaven on Earth team. I've met the most amazing friends who's love for cats is infectious. I enjoy working adoption events and helping cats find their forever homes. I never thought one of those forever homes would be mine. I'd been volunteering for a year when Bugsy came to stay at the Petsmart in Santa Clarita. His eyes were so scared and confused it just broke my heart. I spent a lot of time with him and during the next few months he blossomed. I thought about adopting him so many times but was worried how my single 8 yr old girl cat would react. When I heard the news that he was being adopted I cried. I was so happy for him but sad that I had missed my chance. But as fate would have it a few months later he was returned because his new family had fallen on hard times. As soon as I heard he was back I knew he was meant to be part of my family! When I picked Bugsy up the wonderful staff sent me home with a crate and helped guide me in introducing him to my girl Kali slowly. It took some time and patience but they are getting along great and I can't imagine life without him! I'm so honored to be a part of such an amazing organization that helps make a difference in the lives of so many cats, like Bugs did in mine

I first visited Perry's Place in November 2016 and was amazed at the large and varied spaces for different kinds of cats. The staff was so helpful in explaining their mission, the setup, and the cats and their personalities without any pressure. I was back the next month, having filled out an adoption application. The staff took the time to find out what type of cat and personality would be a good match for me, and I left with Dusty, a 10-year-old beautiful grey male. He is currently snoozing on my stomach, which is his normal perch, so I have gotten used to typing with one hand as he doesn't love it when the petting stops! Dusty is certainly part of the family and has a big personality; although he is a snuggle-bunny, he is also independent and no pushover with my other 2 cats. He is great with visitors and at Christmas with my folks visiting, sat on one of the dining room chairs at most meals (after first trying to climb onto the table, which is taboo of course!). I thank Heaven on Earth/Perry's Place for providing me with a wonderful pet in Dusty. I know we will have many happy years together.

I have nothing but praise for Heaven on Earth's cat sanctuary. My wife and I adopted our little Fanny aka Luna, spring of 2016 and she has grown into such a loving, fun cat with quite a unique personality. She loves to play fetch, jump on a lap for cuddles, paw at you when she wants attention, play with our other kitty and even sometimes tries to tuck in the shower curtain. We're quite convinced she's part dog somewhere behind those blue eyes. All in all, we're very satisfied with Heaven on Earth and their huge role in helping all cats they receive, young or old. They play a vital part in our society's awareness of animals that need a home and we couldn't be happier.

I started working for HESA in 2011. I am the caretaker at Heaven on Earth and I love working there. Every staff, volunteer, board member and everyone else that is involved in this sanctuary are loving and caring people. Every board member works very hard to give the best to these cats and I have seen it threw the years. The other caretakers also care for the cats very much. I am so fortunate to be working with these people and these loving cats. I have never had a job where I don't complain about work in any way. This sanctuary is filled with love and these cats are getting the best care they can get. Everyone cares so much for this sanctuary that they themselves go out for the fundraisers to help every cat. Heaven on Earth gives the best to the cats and I love the fact that I work for a no kill, no cage sanctuary. They get the best care and the best love! Everyday these people improve the lives of these cats. Also the fact that they take in cats that are the least adoptable makes them that much better! I would also like to mention that they have taken in fractious cats that end up being the sweetest cats and that is the first time I had ever witness that! Cats from the shelter that were labeled feral have been saved by HESA. Also cats that were on the red list from shelters have been saved by them as well.

I've been volunteering with Heaven on Earth cat sanctuary for 1.5 years. This is a wonderful nonprofit organization! Very professional, efficient & friendly staff/volunteers. The cats are well cared for, and what I love most about this no-kill group is they not only "pull" highly adoptable cats from local shelters, but also intake senior cats, mothers with kittens, and special needs kitties (such as diabetic & FIV+) AND they have a really neat "Spayship Program" --- making big efforts to reduce cat overpopulation at the source (check it out! http://www.heavenlypets.org/spayship/). Further, they partner with about 6 different Petco/Petsmart locations in the SF Valley which greatly increases their adoption rates due to exposure & in-store adoption events. Heaven on Earth works with many of our local pet stores as a way of showing off kitties in need of homes- when you go to a PetSmart in our neighborhood- those kitties in the adoption center are from the sanctuary and ready for a loving, forever home. All the cats are spayed, neutered, and chipped- ready to go!! Heaven on Earth even delivers and helps the new kitty family get ready for their new member.

I have a 9.5 year old Golden Retriever who had lost her brother just 6 months prior. She and I would go to pet smart where she always wanted to go see the kitty's. This continued for several weeks, as I pondered the idea of reintroducing a kitty into our lives, to help fill that which was missing. As we made another trip to pet smart on this occasion we met Pam. I explained to her the particulars of my life at present, Pam suggested that Pistachio would be a good fit. Pistachio is a little kitty who has been through a rough patch her entire life, and was a little bit reserved but sweet and loving. On our follow up meet and greet Patty and Pam were helpful in coordinating everyone into the room to see how the interactions would unfold. As we proceeded Pam and Becky were very flexible and willing to meet the demands of my ever changing schedule. Pam delivered Pistachio to her new home at which point my dog walked up and kissed me on the cheek. (TRUE STORY). Since then Pistachio is very happy, she loves the dog and enjoys getting on the top of her and doing the kitty mothering routine, for as long as the dog can take it.
I am grateful and appreciative that Pistachio is now a part of my family, she was truly Heaven sent!!
Thank you to all my friends at Heaven on Earth!!

Heaven and Earth clearly has a loving staff. They show genuine care for thier animals. In addition, they know each animals story and times, heartbreak. They were thorough in the interviews. Though, some might find this a bit much, we found it to be in the best interest of future pets. We love our cat Baffi, he is sheer joy and he is the best alarm clock each morning.

Everyone wants to see a cat find his or her forever home, but knowing that the cats that don't get adopted and call the sanctuary their home are safe, well looked after and loved - makes all the difference to me. It's also the kitties that have medical issues or are seniors and have a lesser chance of being adopted that find their forever home with Heaven on Earth.

I've been a long time volunteer at the sanctuary and whether it's cleaning carriers, doing paperwork or spending time with the kitties, I know it all makes a difference.

An amazing amount of love and care goes into every cat that comes into Perry's Place, and it is very satisfying to see the cats that come under their care flourish and blossom into healthy, adoptable beings ready for the right person to come along.

Four years ago, a little ferro cat was hanging around the house, she was merely a kitten, but was 6 months old and in heat, and sure enough the Tom cat's came around, not knowing what to do as I could not have her having the kittens multiply here at my 90 year old dads house, I went online and found ,
Heaven on Earth, I e-mailed them and it was less than 1/2 a day I got a response from them, they brought a trap for her to take her to another wonderful organization called FixNation you nueterd her for free, Heaven on Earth , picked her up and brought her back the same night, all for no charge..She also got her shots...She is still an outdoor cat, but now sits in my lap but she will not come inside.. Hey name is "Toey," as she has 4 extra toes on her front paws...
I try to make donations when I can, I am a senior and on a fixed income, but this is the place to donate to ,the workers and staff are so friendly and so so helpful and most important, Love Cats...

This is a group of dedicated staff and volunteers working week in and week out to find permanent, loving homes for abandoned cats. The majority of our cats come from county shelters where they have been red-listed and have little or no chance for survival. At Heaven on Earth, it's all about the cats, and I am very proud to be associated with so many unselfish, caring people.

Heaven on Earth has a beautiful facility for caring for their cats and is welcoming to adoptive families. I adopted three cats from Heaven on Earth, and they assisted me with rescuing a cat from another shelter. Two of the cats I adopted were difficult to place as they didn't "show well". Heaven on Earth was very patient while I made up my mind to adopt. I have been extremely happy with all three of my little boys, and always recommend Heaven on Earth to my friends.

Some will live out their days there due to health issues, but they feel loved and well cared for and it's a great solution for them. Nine years ago, after my husband and I had lost a beloved cat, we started to look for a new member of the family. We encountered Heaven on Earth at a mall and with tears in my eyes, I found two Tabby kittens in a carrier. We had been looking for only one new cat, but were asked if we would take two since they were, and are, so bonded to each other. With due diligence, before we could "adopt" the two kittens we were thoroughly vetted including a visit to our home. Indiana and Sabrina are now a delightful part of our 5 cat family (all foundlings).

That was our introduction to Heaven On Earth and to Pam and Ritchie Geisel. We were delighted when they were able to purchase their new location and were privileged to be taken on tours as the building progressed from commercial to a very carefully planned shelter.

What they do for unwanted cats is truly special. It breaks my heart to hear about the number of cats and dogs that are destroyed in LA. Heaven On Earth has undertaken a monumental task to save as many cats as possible and find homes for them.

My husband and I continue to support Heaven On Earth in any way we can. I would happily volunteer at the shelter, but my husband strongly objects because I would come home with another cat and with our current 5, there is no more room on our bed.

This place is amazing. We discovered it when my 5 year old son wanted to donate his first allowance ($1.25) to "save all the cats in the world." I knew we'd found the right place when Eri, the founder, was in tears as she accepted his donation. Though the shelter has now relocated for the third time and it has grown to serve dozens more cats and has an extensive network of volunteers, that same sense of caring can be found. Really. The directors- who devote their heart and souls to this place-- know the name of every single cat, where they are located, what temperament they have, and any health issues. Music can be heard playing, the rooms are bright and clean, and every cat is looked after as if is the most important... even the feral, unsociable cats. The volunteers are equally dedicated and loving. I just wish every homeless cat had the chance to live here! We know that every penny we donate will be carefully spent, and every feline nurtured.

About two years ago I rescued a starving and injured feral cat off the street. According to neighbors the cat had been around for at least 14-15 years, living on the street. I have three dogs and could not bring the cat home, so I had to board him while he recuperated at my vets. The vet's diagnosis was advanced renal failure, and he said if I couldn't take the cat home, he would die within a 2-3 months in a crate at the vets. As great as my vet and his staff are, they could not give him the around-the-clock love and affection that he so dearly deserved, merely basic medical care to alleviate any discomfort or pain. I considered euthanization until I heard of Heaven On Earth from a fellow animal rescuer who said they had a wonderful hospice program for very senior cats in need of a dignified final resting place. I contacted them and they responded immediately for me to bring the cat to them. They took in this fragile, elderly and sick cat, and gave him love, affection, and medication, until he died in his sleep in his bed, surrounded by his new buddies. They never asked me for a dime. My wife and I were able to make a donation and they seemed truly appreciative of the small amount we could afford to give them. They are angels on earth, and they deserve all the support that they can get, financially and volunteer-wise. They are a shining example of the very best of what unconditional love can do.

Heaven on Earth is a fantastic cat rescue group and sanctuary. I have been a volunteer since 2010, when I learned of HESA because they took in an elderly stray cat named Scrappy that a friend of mine was trying to find a home for. When my friend took Scrappy to HESA's sanctuary, I tagged along. I was so impressed with the organization and the commitment of the volunteers that I decided to become a volunteer myself. I have volunteered at many adoption events and have learned so much -- from how to write good bios about the cats to tips on helping adopters introduce a new cat to their home. HESA always puts cats first and I love the feeling of being involved in finding happy forever homes. I also regularly donate to HESA because I know that donations are well-used and really do make a difference in the lives of cats.

When I became a volunteer here at Heaven on Earth I was so happy to see the cats playing around in their different rooms. Some cats needed to be on a diet, some had FIV, and some were kittens, all in separate rooms to be taken care of accordingly. They had plenty of toys, plenty of cat scratchers, plenty of healthy food and many were very friendly towards the volunteers and I.

I actually started to cry seeing these beautiful cats. I wanted to adopt them all. I hope that more people come and visit to adopt these angels. These cats really do deserve a nice home.

Heaven on Earth is a nice place for these animals, definitely 10x's better than a shelter where most cats are frightened by the loud noise, whereas Heaven on Earth provides soothing music, shelves, and beds for these cats.

I love this place and I hope more get adopted out. I unfortunately could not stay as a volunteer because the commute was too far for me. If it was closer though I would go every weekend.

Heaven on Earth gas taken some of our cats, including some of the sickest and saddest cases and have done amazingly well with them, from getting them healthy and finding loving homes. And they give the BEST updates. They are a wonderful group of caring individuals. No drama, no politics, like so many groups I've dealt with. They simply care. I got involved with HOESA as a volunteer, cleaning and doing whatever was needed in the Sony cabin.
We had several feral cats at Sony Pictures that needed a place to go and HOESA stepped up to help.
All the feral cats are now re-homed in neighborhoods and on farms. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
I never realized how much work in involved in running a shelter like this but Pam and Ritchie manage to do this.
I also enjoyed playing with the cats, so many personalties. I adopted a cat from there named Chance a couple of years ago. I believe she was a foster from Best Friends. I still have her.
The only reason I am not there anymore is because of physical limitations (arthritis) which made it difficult to do a lot of cleaning. I still try to go to fund raisers and open houses.

Heaven on Earth rescued Edward (now Toby) from a city shelter, where he was red-listed for euthanasia because he had not been adopted after a month. My husband and I found Toby at an adoption event near our home when we were looking for another cat to be a companion to our older female cat. Everyone at Heaven on Earth was friendly and very professional. They inspected our home to make sure it was appropriately furnished and safe for a cat, and then they brought Toby to us.

We believe strongly in rescue and adoption, and we are tremendously pleased with the service we received from Heaven on Earth. Most of all, we are thrilled to have Toby as a member of our family. He is a sweet, gentle, funny boy who has become our other cat's good friend. We are grateful to Heaven on Earth for saving his life and giving us a chance to know and love him. I have known the founder of Heaven on Earth - Eri Kronkite for several years. We met while I worked as the school secretary at Camp Gonzalez, a Juvinelle Detention Center in the Santa Monica Mountains. She was a substitute teacher.

I lost my eight year old cat Chloe to kidney failure and was looking for a new kitty to love and be a companion for Zoe, my russian blue kitty. Eri told me about Heaven on Earth and mentioned that she had an adoption event coming up.

I was looking for a russian blue and she had one, when I went to the adoption event, the cat I was interested in was bonding with a little girl. This cat had no interest in me and literally "rejected me," this is a true story.

Eri had another cat she called "sweetie," a six month old black cat with three white patches. I put "sweetie" on my lap and the rest it history. Sweetie, now Sam is 10 years old. He still has his feral tendencies, but he's a sweet loving gentle cat who's 20 pounds!

I have faithfully donated to this group and I feel that they really do look out for the kitties that come to their sanctuary.

I have gone to their Petco Van Nuys adoption events, the cats are healthy and playful and quite attentive. The volunteers are very knowledgeable about cat care and really go the distance for the adoptive parents.

Heaven on Earth is one of two cat rescue groups that I highly recommend to everyone.

The thing that makes Heaven on Earth different is the type of cats that they primarily work with. Those are the one that don't stand much of a chance of getting adopted, either from age, medical condition, disposition, or are physically challenged and their time has run out in the other shelter.

They provide a loving, caring enviorment for the cats to florish and enjoy the rest of their lives. The people involved from the board members to the volunteers demostrate that it is all about the needs of the cat first. I look forward to working with them in the future.

As Board President of Heaven on Earth for the past 9 years, I may be considered biased, but I also know this organization as well as just about anyone. I am both humbled to work with so many dedicated colleagues on the Board, as well as caring staff and volunteers, and proud of what we have accomplished on behalf of homeless animals. Most recently, on April 19, we dedicated our new Perry MacFarlane Sanctuary, in a special ceremony. This event followed exactly one month after a group of 40 volunteers re-located 125 cats from our previous rented house in Van Nuys to the specially designed facility we purchased in North Hollywood. Perry's Place provides a home to cats awaiting adoption, to cats whose age, health issues or other special needs make it likely that this will be their forever home, and to cats pulled from city and county shelters by our rescue partners who don't have a facility of their own. These cats stay with us during their quarantine period in our isolation space, before being fostered or adopted by our partners. This is our Heaven Can Wait Program. We have also recently resumed our SpayShip spay/neuter transport service. Heaven on Earth is a responsive (we return calls!), compassionate, professionally managed organization, that is modeling a spirit of collaboration (with other rescues, with Los Angeles City and County Animal Services, and with the general public. As a result, we are making an increasing difference in the lives of homeless animals.

Heaven on Earth Society for Animals provides several unique services to the Los Angeles community and its homeless animals. First, we operate a cage free, no-kill sanctuary for homeless cats, and especially those often overlooked for adoption on account of their special needs. For example, Leo came to us from a family in northern California after he had become blind from glaucoma. He is a handsome long-haired white lap cat, and would be a wonderful pet in the right home with the right family.
Second, we partner with a low cost clinic in providing a free transport service to facilitate the sterilization of both feral and owned cats. And third, we provide other rescue organizations that don't have their own facility with a free iso service. We will temporaily care for the cats they have pulled from city shelters who otherwise would have been euthanized, until foster or adoptive homes can be found.
Most recently, we partnered with another organization in saving the lives of nearly 90 cats rescued from a horrible hoarding situation. In all these ways, Heaven on Earth is making a difference every day in fulfilling our mission of "improving the lives of homeless cats", and it continues to be a privilege to serve as a volunteer board member.

This is a special group of people who stepped up and helped a group of caretakers who, in an impossible situation, had no where else to turn. The Heaven On Earth team helped facilitate a solution that saved the lives of many community cats under threat of being trapped and euthanized. Heaven On Earth is passionate and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of community cats and approach to animal overpopulation.

Heaven on Earth is such an amazing charity that is near and dear to my heart. There are so many amazing people that work so hard to save the life of kittens and cats alike. They specialize in saving kitties of all types including those that are older and have disabilities. Everyone deserves a chance! They save kitties from kill shelters, as well as do their best efforts to get kitties adopted. Those who don't get adopted need not worry-- they are well taken care of in a beautiful kitty sanctuary. Heaven on Earth also has spay/neuter services that help reduce the number of stray cats on the street.

These people are tireless and so dedicated! With their help of trap loans and transport help (on the days we couldn't do it) we were able to get a five-cat colony fixed on our street and they remain very healthy today. I shudder to think what would have happened to those poor kitties without Heaven on Earth, probably they would have bred until there were dozens and dozens of cats leading to misery all around.

I BECAME AWARE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH THROUGH A RELATIVE THAT HAS BEEN INVOLVED WITH THIS GREAT ORGANIZATION FOR YEARS. WE ARE NOW SUPPORTERS AND DONATE MONTHLY TO HELP AS MUCH AS WE CAN. THIS IS A "NO KILL" SHELTER GOING OUT AND RESCUING FERAL CATS TO HAVE THEM SPAYED AND HOPEFULLY ADOPTED OR PUT BACK ON THE STREETS BUT WITH NO CHANCE OF ADDING TO THE FERAL POPULATION. WE LIVE ON THE EAST COAST AND HOPE TO SOMEDAY VISIT THE SHELTER AND MEET OUR ADOPTED CAT "MERCEDES". SHE ALSO KEEPS ME INFORMED THROUGH HER MONTHLY EMAIL UPDATE!! THESE PEOPLE GO BEYOND THE NORM TO SEE THAT THESE CATS ARE APOPTED OUT AND IF NOT THEY SPEND THE REST OF THEIR LIVES IN COMFORT AT THE SHELTER. SO FOR THEM IT BECOMES THEIR "REAL" HEAVEN ON EARTH. PLEASE HELP THIS WONDERFUL ORGANIZATION BY YOU SUPPORT .....JUST DOLLARS A MONTH MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE.

i became aware of Heaven on Earth while shopping at the Van Nuys Petco. the cats were all well behaved and lovable. This organization does not do same day adoptions because they research the pending families. I started volunteering at the shelter a few months ago. The minute i walk thru the door, im recognized and greeted by its residents. HOE is no kill and cage free-the animals interact with one another as well as the small staff and volunteers. I have recently referred people to this agency which resulted in an adoption. YAY!!

I started volunteering with Heaven on Earth in 2009. I liked that the sanctuary provides a home for animals deemed "unadoptable" by most people, some of them are older, have long term diseases that need treatment, or behavioral issues. Heaven on Earth is a great cage free, no kill sanctuary that I am happy to be invovled with. Not only do they provide a home for these animals, they provide an isolation program to allow other organizations to temporarily house their cats to ensure they are healthy before introducing them into foster homes. This allows animals to be pulled from the county shelters who otherwise would not have been. We also have a great trap, spay/ neuter and release program that helps tackle the feral cat population. Another way we are helping to alleviate the growing pet population is by providing transportation to spay/neuter pets when the owner is unable to do so.

Heaven on Earth is a professionally run organization that is not only committed to the animals it serves, but respects and appreciates it's staff and volunteers. Heaven on Earth is not your run-of-the-mill animal rescue. They operate unique and innovative programs that have significant impact in their community, in addition to the more common rescue programs such as foster and adoption. Finally, an animal welfare group that operates like a business for the sake of long term sustainability!

Adopting a disabled cat 10 years ago plunged me into the world of rescue and there was no turning back. Heaven on Earth was a perfect fit for what I hoped to contribute -- it is mission-driven, volunteer-fueled and thoughtfully managed, and its focus on cats with lower potential for adoption resonated with me deeply. It still does. Heaven on Earth is meeting needs not otherwise met...lovingly caring for cats who had no place else to go.

Heaven on Earth is a fantastic organization that provides a loving, stable home for animals that might be overlooked for care by any other shelter or even many rescue organizations. Everyone involved -- from the caretakers, to the board, to all the many wonderful volunteers -- give it their all to better the lives of these sometimes sick, elderly, scared, or plump, but always perfectly wonderful animals.

I came across the organization Heaven On Earth from a friend that already volunteered there and still does. I just expected it to be another volunteer place, but as soon as I got their I knew the enviroment was a great place to actually have fun while volunteering. I have been volunteering since early february and with the help from this organization I was able to get my first job. They produce results like this often, even help you with the application and job process. Meet great people that are doing what they love.

I adopted two beautiful cats from Heaven on Earth. Thom, a sleek, dove grey polydactyl and Blizzard, an older, FIV+ behemoth who looks like a baby seal and acts like a giant marshmallow. Both came to me healthy, happy, socialized and ready to settle in to their forever homes.

HESA treats each cat in their care as an individual – with discrete personalities, needs and preferences. All are showered with love and attention, however they choose to accept it. The sanctuary is clean, well-tended and home-like. After all, it will be the long term home to many of the cats who are considered unadoptable. These are the ones HESA takes in that no one else will.

I know in my heart (actually, I know in my head) that my two beautiful boys would be long dead if it weren’t for the caring people at Heaven on Earth. I’m grateful they were there to save two such precious lives, and so many, many more.
