was established in 2012, is in memory of our daughter Heather N. Fitzgerald who passed away at the age of 30. Heather was a special education teacher at the Hampton Bays Middle School. My wife and I and Heather’s friends set up a scholarship in her memory. A scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating senior student from the Hampton Bays UFSD who is pursuing a college degree in education or special education. As a general guideline, recipients must embrace the spirit of caring, while understanding excellence and hard work. The recipient must also have a zest for life which exemplifies how our daughter Heather truly lived her life.
