I have had them turn on me and become aggressive when I asked for help with pet food. This is the main agency that helps people with pet food in perry fl. If you call the animal shelter they will turn you away and refer you to them. Pat told me to contact Heather for pet food and when I did Heather bit my head off and accused me of "double dipping" even though I had already shown her screenshots that Pat had not helped me with any pet food, and had told me to contact her. To have my integrity insulted was really something else, when I have shared their posts on Facebook for years and stood up for them at the commissioners meetings. The real kick in the guy is being accused of feeding too many cats when I have begged them for YEARS to help me with a feral colony I inherited when I bought my home. Not only did they refuse to come out and help me trap but they helped others to trap at their properties. I have worked my tail off to try and adopt out ferals through Keri and Pat only to have the charming people of perry dump more cats at my property. I'm probably one of the poorest people in town and I didn't create the problem. My cats are indoor only and fixed. I have lost respect for this rescue and the way they cherry pick who they are willing to help.

We were devastated when we found out that two of our Catahoula puppies were deaf. This is the first time this has ever happened to us, most breeders would have culled them at birth, but we just did not have the heart to do that. For weeks we watched the boys grow up into the happiest, healthiest, most loving, playful puppies out of the litter. We were so torn on what to do, we loved them, but knew they would need more than we could give them. Sadly I feel that alot of breeders resort to culling them because of the negativity, judgement, criticism and astigmatism that's associated with having a deaf puppy. Breeders, Please know that there are resources out there that can help you. When I got the call from Hearts for Hometown Dogs that Doghouse Rescue Academy in South Florida would take the boys I was ecstatic. I immediately notified Christina with Deaf Dogs Rock who had been helping me network the boys & she said as soon as Doghouse Rescue Academy did their intake and contacted her DDR would be sponsoring the boys to help with their vet visits. We packed up their food, proof of vaccinations, deworming history and prepared them for the biggest adventure of their life. They were transported through our local nonprofit, Hearts for HomeTown Dogs down to Doghouse Academy in South Florida where they will be vetted & placed in foster homes for training and socialization. Words will never be able to express how incredibly thankful and blessed we are that DDR, HHTD & Doughouse Rescue Academy was there for us in our time of need. We know beyond the shadow of a doubt that placing the boys with the assistance of DDR, HHTD & DRA is their best chance at living long, happy, healthy lives. So if you find yourself in this situation, please know that you are not alone, and please reach out for help. Words will never be able to express our deepest gratitude for what these organizations have done for the boys.
