HeartBeat NY

Mission: Heartbeat NY is one of the non profits organization serving for child education, poverty and child health. specially, Heartbeat NY deals with the children in rural Nepal by establishing schools and orphanage for orphans childrens. Recently, Heartbeat NY start to work in rebuilding homes and school that has been destroyed by earthquake in 2015. Heartbeat New york has recently collaborated with the clinton Global Initiative -2016 to start the initiative "Leaves Plates-New Green world-Future for the ecosystem" in New York City. Leaves Plates: New Green world- future for the ecosystemis the initiative to address the problem of Climate/ environmental degradation. Our approach might not be the perfect solution towards the global pollution problem but it's obviously is a small step towards the better and healthier world of tomorrow.The pollution is increasing in such a large scale , it might be too late before we realize. So, our project focuses on utilizing the leaves of the tree to make a plate out of it and replace the widely used plastic and styrofoam plates . The leaves plates are biodegradable and pure natural product which leaves zero carbon footprint which makes it a beneficial eco-friendly initiative. The manufacturing plant will be based in the terai region which is the southern part of Nepal with fertile land and we will be focusing on making the leaves plates using leaves of Saal trees (Shorea Robusta) because of their tenderness and broad leaves characteristics. Furthermore, we will be providing necessary skills and training to the villagers of rural Nepal (especially,women) to make leaves plates by utilizing local resources. After training, the villagers will be provided with employment opportunities.This would help the Rural communities of Nepal to earn money and able to sustain their living and Education for children.
