My husband and I, along with our 2 children had the privilege to visit and volunteer with Heart of Romania’s children foundation. It is incredible to experience firsthand how is to live in rural Romania and the impact that this organization makes in the children’s life. From assisting families in need with financial support , to providing the necessary tools for an adequate education, offering assistance to orphanages in the area and being involved in the transition process of the youth ( in Romania as soon as the children turn 18 they are out of the door )
I can't say enough about Zamfira Pauna and her wonderful Heart of Romania's Children Foundation. I have known Zamfira for greater than 20 years and have seen her work tirelessly the entire time to improve the lives of the children of Romania. Zamfira has dedicated not only her time and energy but also her heart. She is an amazing woman who has never once forgotten her heritage and the many needs of the children of her home country. Zamfira saw a need and took it upon herself to fill that need. Zamfira's life has been one of service to others and that still continues today. Great non-profit organization and proud to say that someone is taking care of the Romanian underprivileged children. I wish many more would help in any ways. For example, I helped them with backpacks to take them to Romania around Christmas time. Ms. Zamfira is an amazing person and works so hard to see the kids with a smile on their face.

This is a wonderful organization that helps the vulnerable children without families . I have known Zamfira for many years. She’s been working non stop providing necessities and a warm safe environment for the children to grow up in . She is doing the tedious hard work that very few people are willing or able to do. It’s really nice to see the children grow up, thrive and become young adults. A major part of Zamfira’s work is also taking care of handicapped young people. With the limited funds that she has, she’s been providing supplies and care for them .

Trustful and passionate charity, whose founder, Zamfira, i personally got to know and to greatly appreciate. My whole family too. I was able to see first hand her true heart for helping anyone possible but specially her amazing efforts to help orphans and special needs Romanian children, covering their most basic needs as clothes, books, wheelchairs etc., giving them hope and remembering them they are not forgotten by God and by those whose hearts He touches in order to provide for these precious kids needs.
Have supported this foundation for many years. They are tireless in their efforts to help these kids with little or no hope. I have enjoyed seeing many of them grow up and become prosperous adults. The president of this foundation, Zamfira Pauna, is extremely dedicated and devoted to the cause of this organization and has made many sacrifices over the years in order to raise money and collect various goods to help children and others in dire need of basic necessities that many of us often take for granted. I have known Zamfira for eight years. She has a very selfless heart and sacrifices so much for children in Romania. Recently, she helped my wife and I connect with an orphanage in Romania where we donated money, played music and did some art with the children. The orphanage, Casa Lidia is a very special place with kids that are incredibly respectful and disciplined.
Overall the charitable organization Heart of Romania's Children Foundation exceptional in the work they do to help the orphans. We were able to visit Romania in the fall of 2004 and we were able to see first hand the orphanage where we met the workers and the children. We were very impressed with the dedication and commitment the workers had for the orphans in their care. At the same time the children seemed delighted to meet us as we toured the facility and grounds. All my wife and myself can say is the work that Zamfira Pauna does through the Heart of Romania's Children Foundation really touched us personally. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Romania and we were grateful for their dedication to helping others.
I know this charity for years through our church. President Zamfira Pauna is doing great work through this charity in Romania for children in Romania that need love and help . There is so much I can say about Zamfira and the foundation she passionately build, but I will keep it short and sweet. The one thing worth mentioning is that Zamfira is so passionate about easing the burdens of the Orphans and the Elderly that on soo many occasions we had no funds or insufficient funds for the events planned yet she dug deep in her pockets to fill that gap and made it happen. She is thoroughly dedicated, passionate and caring and any help she receives she multiplies the blessings. I have known Zamfira Pauna for over 15 years. We worked together in a long term care facility in different capacities. She exhibited a compassionate concern for the elderly in the facility. We became friends. That is how I learned about her concern and compassion for orphaned children in her native country of Romania. Concern and compassion are what prompted her to start the “Heart of Romania Children’s Foundation.” Her goals have always been improving lives and bringing hope to orphaned children. My husband and I have been contributors. We know that Zamfira puts her heart and soul into anything that she does. We believe that any contribution that we give to the Foundation is being used in the best possible way, and that the goals of bringing hope and improving lives are being fulfilled.
I am a nurse at Advent Health, and my first contact with this Foundation was in the very beginning when the drive to help some of the not so fortunate children in Romania started very enthusiastically. I have followed the success stories and watched the many positive transformations in these children's lives, that transpired over the many years. The relentless efforts and collaborations, the personal drive and commitment of all the members is to be commended and appreciated by all of us , for it could not better serve those most at need children.

Zamfira is one of the most dedicated people when it comes to helping orphans and generally people in need in her hometown in Romania. A lot of people leave their hometown and forget about it, but Zamfira through Heart of Romania’s Children Foundation has been on a mission to relieve some of the pains and problems that orphans and needy adults have in Romania.
Everyone who ever met her knows that she carries these people on her thoughts on a daily basis. My family had the privilege to go and meet some of these orphans. We spent the day with these children and came away with a greater blessing than what we actually brought to them.
My children were young at the time and witnessed what life was like for these children, who had very little, yet had more joy and appreciation for life than most of us. It was definitely an eye opener for all of us. I have to mention that the man who takes care of these children, was also orphaned at a young age himself and did not want of his establishment to be thought of as an orphanage, nor of the children as of orphans. All 18 children called him Daddy! From what we witnessed this was not an orphanage, but a real big family. We were definitely blessed by our time there!

I think that zamfira it's an amazing altruistic person who put the base on an organization called Heart of Romania, witch trying to help a lots of kids from orphanage in this country. One of the most beautiful thinks for the heart is to see this little children, the smiles, the tears of their gratitude to receive food,clothing,school supplies and any kind of help. We take it for grated but for them, they live for that kindness to see what just that little bit of care and concern from our part can do for a person's life. Recently, I took a trip to Romania to visit different organizations that help children. Having spent three years in Bucharest in the early 1990’s, I have always had a special place in my heart for the country and its children. My church was looking to identify organizations that we can partner with and through an Internet search, I found Heart of Romania. Before my trip, I had spoked with Pauna Zamfira from the organization. She insisted that while in Romania, I make my way out to an outlying community of Bucharest to visit a private orphanage called Casa Lidia. I had never met Pauna but I was moved to reserve a day to visit Casa Lidia because of her sincerity and love for this special place. Bucharest is a wild city with vicious traffic in the center that slowly abates as one enters its outer communities. Casa Lidia is located in Domnesti, about a half hour drive from the center of the city. My cab driver asked for directions once we were close and a few minutes later we were there. O

In june 2011 my wife, briannie and i had the wonderful opportunity to do something that we will always be grateful for. during our vacation to romania, we prioritized a visit to the romanian orphanage sponsored by heart of romania children's foundation. leading up to the trip, briannie and i managed to raise over $500 from friends, family and co-workers in only two weeks!! in working closely with zamfira, we were able to successfully create "personalized care packages" for each of the 18 children at the orphanage. we used the remainder of the funds to purchase food and personal hygiene products for the children in romania. although the lead up in purchasing the items and creating the care packages was fun, the most exciting aspect of our trip was being blessed with the opportunity to hand each of the children their personalized care package. seeing the glow in their eyes, the appreciation in their smiles and the happiness in their laughter was priceless! thank you, heart of romania children's foundation for providing my wife and i with this incredible experience. we are already planning another trip to romania centered on further supporting the orphanage and heart of romania children's foundation! keep up the great work! From the very first day i was introduced to the president of heart of romania i knew this there was something special about this foundation. zamfira spoke with such passion and conviction of the children residing in that orphanage. i would see her canvasing with other workers for items of necessity or for monetary assistance or even invitation to gala benefiting her cause and the people would respond positively. i look forward for the opportunity to make an active contribution to such a worthy cause and hopefully, one day, would have the privilege of travelling to romania and meeting some of the blessed recipients of this worthy organization. may theses children find loving homes in the future and bless others as they are being blessed.
