Causes: Job Training
Mission: Heart of oregon's primary purpose is to create a youth corp that assists at-risk young people ages 16 to 27 in reducing their poverty through involvement in projects that provide them with pre-employment skills, marketable employment skills and income.
Programs: Provided job skills training, work experience and education services training for over 180 youth. Activities include 1) environmental conservation (habitat restoration, trail creation and maintenance, fence building and noxious weed removal), 2) construction and weatherization of affordable housing, 3) recycling and litter management, 4) public safety through fire fuels reduction, 5) firewood cutting for senior citizens, and 6) other community service activities.
