Mission: To foster understanding of hearing problems & the importance of good hearing; to conduct activities & programs focused on the further development & wellbeing of hearing impaired people; & to support scientific research projects on healthy & impaired hearing.
Programs: Hear the world foundation usa, inc. (htw), continued the program of recurring hearing screenings, testing and hearing aid fitting and repair in partnership with doctor of audiology students and red bird mission health clinic, beverly, kentucky. Red bird mission is an institution of the general board of global ministries of the united methodist church. Htw recruited volunteer audiologists and students from four graduate audiology programs: university of louisville, indiana university, university of south florida, and kent state. The volunteers staffed recurring clinics for hearing instrument fitting, adjustments, repairs, and rehabilitation. The clinics are held at the red bird mission health clinic, in rural beverly, kentucky. Htw provides services and hearing instruments at no cost to clinic attendees.
