Several years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Camp Huff and Puff while working for LifeFlight. The helicopter visit is part of the annual camp experience, allowing the campers the chance to see the aircraft. The very next year I began to volunteer as a nurse there. Camp has become a part of my summer now for the past 12 years. Huff and Puff provides an opportunity for children with asthma to enjoy the outdoors, participate in games and sports, and learn about their illness. Physicians, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists and other medically trained staff are always available to make the camp experience safe as well as fun. I have had the pleasure of having my daughter be at camp with me, and she loves being there. Camp Huff and Puff is a wonderful way for kids with asthma to learn, laugh and breathe easy!

I have had the privilege of being a part of Healthy Lungs as a volunteer but also as client served while growing up. I was a camper for many years at their various asthma camps, then a counselor as I went through highschool, and now a Respiratory Therapist on their volunteer medical staff. I have been a part of camps, inservices, and presentations and to see what Healthy lungs is all about from both sides has given me such an appreciation for the organization. I would always recommend any program by Healthy Lungs and hope to be a part of support the organization and their causes for many years to come!
