We have a child with a life threatening diagnosis & gaining weight was such a huge battle in our home even with a feeding tube. Having a special needs child can be so expensive & I can’t thank Healthwell enough for the scholarship that helps pay for our sons nutritional shakes & supplements. It truly is so helpful & we are beyond thankful programs like this exist. They have made such an impact our family’s life.
I had Hepatitis C for 45 years. HealthWell Foundation made it possible for me to eradicate this virus from my liver by helping me pay the deductible for the medication i needed. Now, I am Hep C free!! Such a wonderful feeling. Thank you!! God Bless the Donors and the Staff that make this possible. Also, God Bless the recipients!
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. We love this nonprofit organization they are totally dedicated to the patient. It took the fear away to apply every year . I only can highly recommend HealthWell. To be in the position were you need help, is hard enough . Thank God for their help.
Healthwell Foundation has been a gift from God. I had been facing serious hardship being on a fixed income and trying to afford my medicines but thankfully they have truly been a life saver!
I can’t say enough good things about Healthwell Foundation. They came into my life at a time right during the pandemic when I was experiencing increased health costs, less income and no idea how I was going to pay for the additional care I needed. Healthwell processed my application quickly; were very responsive, very friendly and seem to advocate for me on a very genuine level. Again, it may be repetitious but I just can’t say enough about HF. I hope this foundation continues to be funded for times to come. They are an asset to the patient community; they are an asset to the community at-large; and they definitely are an asset to the nonprofit world.
Much obliged Healthwell.
Thanks to HealthWell Foundations monetary help my life has been extended for another year and still going strong. Still fighting CLL and still able to spend day after day surrounded by my wife, 2 daughters, grandaughter and son in law. Health Well Foundation allows so many families to experience continued love and life.
Thank You So Much
My 95 year old mother, Marie Vander Griend, has been on a very expensive medication for pulmonary hypertension for several years and it has been very helpful. Medicare and her supplement pay a good portion of it but she was paying $300-400 monthly as well. The Healthwell Foundation covered that amount this past year, for which we are very grateful.
I was referred to Healthwell and they helped me and my wife by arranging for a grant to help cover the extremely high drug that I used to help with my Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
With out their help I could not have been able to continue with this drug that slows the process of the IPF.
Seniors like me with out the very generous help from Foundations like Healthwell would be bankrupt due to the cost of life saving/extending drugs.
If it weren't for Healthwell Foundation I would not be able to afford my cholesterol medicine. I can't take the pills because they give me horrific cramps all over my body. The Rapatha shots I take every two weeks are extremely expensive and have literally saved my life. Thank you Healthwell Foundation from a very grateful recipient.
My Healthwell Foundation grant covers my monthly copays for Copaxone, my MS medication.
I have been on this medication for over 20 years. There is still no generic that is exactly the same product. My quality of life remains stable which is exactly why I have fought so hard for this medication. I am now on Medicare, with limited funds. If I did not have this grant, I am not sure I could continue this medication.
Healthwell is a wonderful foundation! Through their generous grant, I have benefited from the use of an osteoporosis drug that I would never be able to afford otherwise. The application process is user friendly and my request was promptly reviewed. There was no long waiting period for a response. Healthwell Foundation is a blessing for anyone who qualifies for a grant.
Thanks to the Healthwell foundation I was able to continue the medication I so desperately needed. Without their help I would not have afforded it! I am very grateful for their help.
I am so grateful for the HealthWell Foundation. When my doctor prescribed a medication for me I was flabbergasted at the cost of the medication. I knew that I could not afford it. A good sole told about this foundation. I applied for a grant and got it! The foundation worked with me and it was easy! Thank you HealthWell Foundation!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Your generosity helped my wife afford her chemo! Your generosity, literally, helped save my wife's life. Words cannot express how thankful we are. God bless you all.
Talitha and Andrew Hardin.
Than you for your help with obtaining repatha which my Dr says it’s a wonder drug. It’s really great for my heart condition.Don’t know what or we’re I would be without HealthWell help really great. Thankyou
With the high cost of my medication for PAH I would not be able to afford it. This means I would go untreated. I am so grateful that HealthWell Foundation covered my co-pay and made it possible to receive my medication. Thank You.
HealthWell helps me everyday with my GCA diagnosis. They take the worry away from me questioning myself "will I be able to continue on with my prescription."
I can't thank you enough for your help.
This may sound like a cliché but it's not. HealthWell Foundation is truly a Godsend. When I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis seven years ago the prognosis for this disease was 5 to 8 years of life to remain. Since I was detected early things were not that bleak however the medication that was needed to slow, not reverse, the scarring of my lung was quite expensive to say the least, as well as the copay. I applied to HealthWell and I met the qualifications and received the grant to assist with my copay and I am now heading into my eighth year of life after my diagnosis. Thank you HealthWell from the bottom of my heart, and lung
This organization has helped me live. Healtheell stepped in and provided the additional funding I needed for a extremely expensive chemotherapy drug. I don’t know what would have happened if I didn’t get this drug. In addition to the help to my body, it removed the anxiety and allowed me to relax and get through the ordeal with less stress. I cannot express my gratitude for the assistance Healthwell has provided me. I join countless others who say thank you so much.
I am a senior citizen 86 years old living on Social Security plus a little extra from an IRA. My doctor prescribed Repatha for my high cholesterol because after using statins for many years started having an effect on my legs. My Medicare Part D left a considerable co-pay for me, which I couldn’t afford. I was given the information about Healthwell Foundation, and they were gracious to give me the $2500 co-pay that was needed for the years supply. What a WONDERFUL feeling to know that there was wonderful people that cared.
Thank You from the bottom f my heart

THANK'S TO HEALTH WELL FOUNDATION. I AM ABLE TO AFFORD TO PAY & TAKE THE EXPENSIVE REPATH (CHOLESTER MEDICATION) TO CONTROL IT.
ITtis nice to be able to thank a few or many who donate money for our meds. I have Multiple Myeloma, a cancer which a short time ago took people from their families in no time at all. Research has been fantastic and this disease can be treated with almost 10 regimens of drugs, but they are very expensive. With good healthcare, which I have paid for for 54 years, most of my costs are covered. I a ma retired teacher; my wife a retired nurse. We would not be able to come close to paying for the meds. Right now, you are my backup; you re there for when there are changes in Medicare or Blue Cross / Blue Shield. The amounts you set aside and help me pay each month are so important. I have a simple goal: live another ten years (I am at the 7th since diagnosis), so I can be part of the lives of my children (5) and grand children (11). Thank you for your hep!!!!!
SINCERELY, Bill McKay
MY MOTHER HAS TO GET A SHOT CALLED PROLIA TWICE A YEAR FOR OSTEOPOROSIS. WITHOUT THE GRANT FROM THIS FOUNDATION SHE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO AFFORD IT.
HEALTHWELL REPS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SO KIND & HELPFUL. THIS YEAR THE FUNDS WERENT AVAILABLE TO HER. BUT WE WERE TOLD TO KEEP CHECKING IN UNTIL MORE FUNDS ARE OPEN. HEALTHWELL & THEIR VOLUNTEERS HAVE BEEN A BLESSING- THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF MY MOTHER- NORMA KENNEDY
When the specialty pharmacy called to tell me that my grant with HealthWell had expired and I had an appointment the next day to get an injection I was upset because I could not afford the medication on my disability. I called HealthWell and they put my mind at ease. My grant had not expired so the employee at HealthWell got on a 3 way call with me and the specialty pharmacy and got it worked out in one call. He was so kind, courteous and professional. They have all been so easy to work with from the application process to answering any questions I might have. They never make me feel bad about asking for help. Thank you HealthWell!
When my bone density test came back and the results were as bad as they were, my doctor wanted me to start taking shots daily. The co-pay was terribly expensive even if I had a regular salary instead of disability. The doctor got his nurse to tell me about HealthWell Foundation, a company that gives grants to help with expensive medicines. They were so easy to work with and with just a few questions I was approved. The medicine changed and I only take shots twice a year but HealthWell stood by me all the way. Ask your doctor or pharmacy about them or look them up on the Internet.
My husband Jeff was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer in December 2016. After surgery and treatments the costs for his care was off the carts. The immune therapy alone was $13,000 a month. The HealthWell Foundation supported us with the funds for his medications for four years.
Jeffery passed on May 29th, 2021, I don't know what we would have done without their support. HealthWell took a big financial burden off his plate and allowed him to live the rest of his life without worry.
I'm so grateful to HealthWell!! I just completed our Family Trust and the HealthWell Foundation will receive monies on my passing in hopes it will help other people with the challenges we faced.
God Bless you HealthWell and your Team,
Healthwell kindly provides me with assistance on my MS medication that is not covered by Medicare. They are so kind and their assistance provides me with hope and love! They make a big difference when it comes to helping people!
My wife must take several extremely expensive medications in order to stay alive. We are both retired, living mostly on social security. Healhwell has greatly reduced the burden of paying for my wife’s medications. We are so thankful!
Words cannot express my gratitude for this amazing organization. I have stage 4 lung cancer with metastasis to liver, bone, and innumerable brain tumors. Never smoked and unfortunately it’s incurable. I was working as an RN when I received my diagnosis. My social worker from the Cancer Center nominated me for a respite. It’s been nine years of fighting and I believe I have been blessed with the extra time. I chose a week at Bethany beach with my daughter and best friend. The house we stayed in was wonderful and the gift cards were an added bonus. Mary Beth was my liaison she was so understanding and made sure everything was in order for us. I can’t thank her enough for all she did. I am forever grateful for Week Away and everyone I encountered. Bless you all!
My wife was diagnosed with ALS almost one year ago. We were shocked and saddened by this report. However, working with her Neurologist, she was started on the two drugs available to hopefully slow the progression of this disease.
The Radicava Infusion treatment is very expensive and I had no idea how we would be able to bear the cost of this treatment. It was suggested that I reach out to some Foundations to determine if we could receive any financial assistance. The first place rejected our request, and just when I was beginning to think there was no chance of getting help, I was referred to the HealthWell Foundation. The application was simple and the approval of a Grant was very quick.
Without HealthWell coming to our aid, I doubt we could be getting the treatment. A huge thank you to this great Foundation and for the wonderful work they do!!
The drug I need to use is an injectable and is expensive. My insurance will pay for some of the cost but there is a significant copay. My PCP's nurse suggested I apply for a grant from HealthWell which I did. The process was very easy via their website. For the past 2 years, I have been able to use money from Healthwell Foundation to pay the insurance copay amount. The process is very streamlined.
My story is this: Without Healthwell I would not be able to afford my MS medication, period. My out of pocket is $483.81 per month after Medicare advantage plan kicks in their portion. I am so blessed to have their help. It is so easy each year to apply for grant assistance ... and then you get that letter, it's total relief! I will be able to keep taking the Med another year, the one Med that helps to slow MS progression down. Thank you to Healthwell and all the donors of the grant foundations.
Great non-profit. My wife has multiple myeloma and the medication costs are astronomical, approximatly $15,000 a year out of pocket for just 1 of her medications with good insurance. Without Healthwell we wouldn't know what we would do to afford this. They are heaven sent and I can't thank them enough. God bless them.
HealthWell is a fantastic organization. As a young adult breast cancer patient, who couldn't afford the financial and practical costs of having cancer and also dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, I have received support from HealthWell in paying for food and psychotherapy. Many people don't know that health insurance doesn't fully cover the cost of healthcare, especially for major medical conditions such as cancer. HealthWell helps to fill the gap between what insurance pays and what patients are able to afford.
The HealthWell Foundation was wonderful and save me from bankruptcy. I have had Systemic Lupus Erythematous since I was 17 in 1974. At that time doctor didn't have many medications to chose from. The only one that worked best for me was prednisone and I am still on it, never been off prednisone. Fifty years later the first FDA approved Lupus treatment became available. Of course, my out of pocket cost with insurance was very high for a single person living alone on Social Security Disability. My out of pocket cost was $1,098 co-pay/co-insurance for each treatment. The first two treatments were two weeks apart, then once a month. My Rheumatologist at the time in 2009 referred me to the HW Foundation. My doctor preformed the Benlysta infusion treatments in his office and they cost me $57 co-pay for each treatment and the office did all the paperwork. In 2013 his practice moved out of state. At this I found another Rheumatologist and needed to find an infusion center. This is when I had to start doing the monthly reimbursement reports, copy invoices and insurance E.O.B. reports of day and amount of service by codes. Out of office infusions in a private facility cost me more out of pocket co-pay $210, but the HealthWell Foundation paid my co-insurance $888. As of 2018 I changed my insurance and they pay my co-insurance and my co-pay remains $210 per treatment and my prednisone has been reduced to it's lowest ever at 5.5mg a day. It all could have not been done without the help of the HealthWell Foundation Benlysta Grant and I'm feeling better than ever thanks to them and the services they are able to provide to people like me with chronic health issues.
High praise for the HealthWell Foundation. I was struggling without success to find a supplemental Medicare plan that covered my primary care physician and my neurological specialists, and covered my very expensive medications that require home infusion. All of this all had been covered by my private insurance but after I became disabled I had to switch to COBRA and pay the premiums myself. After months of trying and being unable to get confirmation from any of the prospective supplemental Medicare plans, I turned to the HealthWell Foundation based on a recommendation from the provider of one of my more expensive medications. As a result, I received a grant that allowed me to keep my private insurance and, thus, keep my current providers and my home infusion therapy in place (as well as my piece of mind).
I am a blind and disabled woman on SSDI. My osteoporosis began when I was 37 years old. Medication to preserve my bones is very expensive, and I've needed it for nearly twenty years now. Once my husband retired, it became difficult for us to cope with the copays for the Prolia I need. HealthWell Foundation has been a godsend. Not only is the application process easy, but all aspects of using my approved grant has been accessible and user friendly. This particular grant is not always available from year to year, and HealthWell has been able to recommend other grants and organizations. It's a wonderful service!!
I have a family history of heart disease coupled with high cholesterol usually beginning in the early 50’s. My doctor started me on a statin medication early wanting to get a head start, unfortunately I suffered bad side effects from every different statin that we tried. At 65 I had a 90% blockage of the LAD and had a stint placed in my heart, the doctor stressed the importance of lowering my cholesterol. I took classes for dietary help, exercised tried to do all the right things but still my cholesterol levels were too high. Then a new class of medication became available and my doctor was very anxious for me to try it, however the cost impossible for me to afford. The nurse in the lipid clinic gave me the information to contact HealthWell Foundation. They were very kind and helpful, they guided me through the qualifying process and I was accepted. I receive my medication at no cost! This is where I can’t hold back the tears of gratitude. My cholesterol levels have gone from the 230’s and 250’s to a steady level of 30, yes that’s not a type O. It’s 30!! I have zero side effects from this medication. As far as I’m concerned HealthWell has been
a life saver for me.
Thank you HealthWell

Health Well helped me with paying my insurance deductible for Prolia. As a retired person I came to realize that the Prolia deductible was not in my budget but the Prolia medication was helpful and necessary for stronger bones. Thanks Health Well !
without the help of healthwell foundation i would not be able to take my injections. i am on a fixed income and greatly appreciate your help financially and also the advise your employee give me.
Healthwell is absolutely amazing!! They are always there for there patients. Despite limited funding they try to help as many people as they can. Please if anyone can only donate $1, that will be one more dollar to help a patient in need.
Thank you Healthwell for all you do!
HealhWell came through for me when I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
The medication I needed was over $7,000 a month!
They provided enough of a copayment to allow me life saving medicine.
The great support in customer service was another benefit.
This organization is incredible. Thanks to the Healthwell grant I’ve been able to access much needed nutritional supplements for my child. Thank you so much for all you do!
I would like to share with you how the HealthWell Foundation changed my life, but before I can do that, you have to understand what my life was like before the HealthWell Foundation entered my life.
On July 27, 2020, I woke up and I could not breathe. I could not climb a flight of stairs. After a trip to the emergency room, I was admitted to the hospital and five days later I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). As a result of the PAH, I was in congestive heart failure and given three months to live.
There were revolutionary medicines that could combat my PAH, but these medicines came with astronomical, life-changing costs. Even as a senior citizen, now on oxygen 24 hours every day, there was no financial aid for me. I pounded the pavement. I contacted the pharmaceutical companies. I contacted the manufacturers. I could not find help, until one day my local pharmacist recommended that I reach out to the HealthWell foundation, and so I did.
I wasn’t sure if I would qualify for aid through the HealthWell Foundation, but the woman I spoke with encouraged me to just answer a few questions for her, and before I knew it I was approved for a grant that would cover the costs of my PAH medication. HealthWell would pay my pharmacy directly and I would receive the medicine I would need to combat my condition. I was so happy I cried.
Now, one year later, I am still here. With consistent access to my medication, my condition has improved tremendously, and though PAH is a life-long burden, my condition is manageable, in no small part because of the support and generosity of the HealthWell Foundation.
Every day I am so grateful for the HealthWell Foundation and the work that they do to help the underinsured. They have been so integral to my fight against this rare disease. I encourage anyone I know to donate to the HealthWell foundation, any chance I get, because HealthWell helped me get my life back on track.
A number of years ago I was being evaluated and considered for a bi-lateral lung transplant. Part of this process is getting educated about the costs associated with the required medications. These were hard lessons as it seemed I wouldn't be able to afford the costs for a couple of the medications. I felt I needed to make a choice about receiving a transplant or not based on the price of these meds. Our transplant social worker helped me contact HealthWell and apply for help. HealthWell paid for some of the most expensive medicines I had to take. This was life-saving in the truest sense and I can't thank them enough.
HealthWell foundation helped me two years in a row to be able to have the expensive Prolia injection. The application process was done easily on line. TI qualified for a grant that paid for my copay portion of the injection to treat my osteoporosis.
I have MS and don't know what I would do without the HealthWell Foundation's help. Everyone has always treated me with kindness and respect. Thank you for being there HealthWell.!!!
I am diagnosed with IPF. The meds I have to take are very expensive. I am a retired person on SS and retirement. There is no way I could afford the meds I’m on. The HealthWell organization has literally saved my life. These ppl are a godsend to me. And very sweet and concerned ppl. I thank them from the bottom of my heart
Extremely helpful in controlling today's drug costs when you are a senior citizen on social security. Excellent service when you call in with a question.
Healthwell Foundation came to my rescue when I needed them most! I have stage 4 breast cancer and am living on a small disability budget. All other grants to help me with my medical bills were claimed, but Healthwell Foundation came to my rescue and gave me a grant. I am forever grateful for their help, financial support, and adding me to patient support list. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Health well was very helpful to me. When my osteoporosis injections were costing me $1000.00+ each month- they helped me with a grant. The paperwork and pharmacy connection were made for me. My grant came off the cost of my drug each month. Thank you.
The HealthWell Foundation has literally been a life-saver for me. The medication that I am required to take to lower my LDL cholesterol level is VERY expensive. Since I am retired and on a fixed income, I could not afford to pay hundreds of dollars every month, even though I have Medicare, supplemental insurance and a prescription plan. Due to other health issues, this medication is the only one I can take for my cholesterol problem.
Certainly retired Senior Citizens should not have to worry about how they are going to pay for these medications that are ridiculously high priced. I am SO grateful to Healthwell for supporting me with these costs and allowing me the chance to take this medication that is critical for my health. I am forever indebted to them for helping me to maintain good health.
Health well foundation is a life line for me my cholesterol was extremely high and i was unable
to tolerate other statins I was advised by my physician to use REPATHA UNFORTUNATELY I
could not afford the price reached out to Health well for help they recommend that I filled
out and application and I qualified for help. My cholesterol is much lower and tolerate the
med much better. Health well is a needed foundation and I ask that all who can please keep
this foundation going.
HealthWell Foundation has been able to let me live to a close to normal life since I have been diagnosed with multiple myeloma. I am grateful for their assistance during this period of time in my life, and hopefully their assistance will prolong my life.
Healthwell has been a huge player in my ability to afford to get Ofev an orphan medicine that helps slows the rate at which my lungs alveoli (the little air bubbles in your lungs that breathe for you) are popping and dying. Working with Healthwell's team to secure a grant to cover the out of pocket cost of Ofev has been strangely enough a very pleasant experience during a difficult time of live. Their team of people have made dealing with a very stressful need to get financial support a momentarily uplifting experience that can turn around a tough day.
I am a multiple sclerosis patient who has benefited from the Healthwell Foundation by receiving a grant for my very expensive medication. It has enabled me to be able to feel as well as possible. Thanks Healthwell for helping my life be better. Nancy Beaudoin
I can honestly say Healthwell Foundation is a God-send. I am one of those people, who as my doctor described, who could eat salad for three meals a day every day and still have high cholesterol. I was told the only hope I had was a drug called Repatha. I was so happy and my doctor gave me a prescription. Even though I had medical insurance, this drug was way beyond my financial means as far as the copay would cost. It was important that I somehow get my cholesterol under control due to the fact That I have A-Fib which is a stroke causer as well as a problem called amyloyd angiopathy which can be also the cause strokes (excuse my spelling). At the time I was only 70 years old and still felt I had a lot to give to my family. I tried everywhere and then was told to try Healthwell Foundation by the company that makes Repatha. This is my second year using Healthwell to supplement my co-pay. I am so thankful to Healthwell. Thank you to all at Healthwell. My lab tests now show my cholesterol is under ccontrol. Y ipeeeeee!!!!
I have really bad osteoporosis, and my insurance company wanted a copayment of over $300.
I am on Social Security, and this was way over my budge. A call to HealthWell Foundation gave me the medicine I need with no copayment. The following year, a call again helped me. I don't know what I would have done without them.
HealthWell Foundation is literally a life saver for me. I don't know where I would turn without the assistance from them. My life would surely be more of a struggle.
My experience is that the operation is well run, with courteous and caring responses to my questions and prompt payments.
When the choice becomes yes or no as to whether I will continue this drug for the benefit of my health or not, the HealthWell Foundation steps in and make a positive difference for continuance.
With the financial assistance of the Healthwell Foundation I am able to take Prolia for Osteoporosis. The Healthwell Foundation is a superb organization financially assisting with so many different meds for so many diseases. In my communication with them I have always been treated with dignity and respect.
January 2019: hopitalized with diagnosis of giant cell arteritis. After the immediate treatment with mega doses of prednisone, my doctor determined that the next step was treatment with actemra(approved by the FDA to treat GCA). I would have never received this medication was it not for the generosity of HealthWell Foundation. They have continually and consistently provided acterma at no cost to me (no out-of-pocket cost).
