Healing Paws for Warriors’ goal is to stop veteran suicides. I have volunteered with them for several years and have seen our graduates regain confidence and reengage with their families and friends, and even make new friends. This program helps ease some of the anxiety, so they can enjoy going out to a restaurant, go shopping, travel, further their education, be more productive in their jobs, participate in sporting events, and even follow their dreams. For this program, dogs are rescued from shelters and trained to become certified service dogs. This opportunity is offered at no cost to the veterans.

The mission of assisting a struggling Veteran while rescuing a dog is admirable. I have volunteered with this organization for several years and am impressed by the dedication of the leadership and success of the mission. The graduation ceremonies are incredibly touching. I would definitely encourage anyone who may be interested in learning more about Healing Paws For Warriors to do so!

This organization has saved lives and change our trajectory from being closed and alone from the rest of the world. By training the Veterans and the dogs together they are able find the sweet spot for the achieving the goal of quality training and support. I was able to learn so much from this training. My pup has even been to the White house through all of the security and the chaos of a Medal of Honor Events in DC. Everyone from the White House to the Pentagon praised my pup!

The Training program is not easy and while Mike and his team truely care so much! They take their mission seriously. They are brutally honest and will hold you to the tasks you are asked to perform. The other incredible part of this program once you graduate, you are a part of a family. If you need a refresher or update they are there. The life of the service dog is a part of the program, your dog and you are a part of a lifetime promise.

I donated in memory of a friend who passed away and emailed the organization to let them know. Never got a receipt for the donation or any acknowledgement

I’ve been volunteering with HP4W for over a year now and it’s not just nonprofit organization trying to help veterans, it’s a family. I couldn’t be more thankful for these group of people not only helping me with my own military struggles, but also seeing how they impact the community. Hearing testimonies of the veterans they’ve helped saved is truly inspiring. What HP4W does really saves lives of our veterans. I’ve even got my partner involved as a volunteer! I’m so extremely proud of everyone and all the effort they put in to make this organization function. I can’t wait to see how they continue to grow and continue to impact the community in a positive way!

This special organization works with military veterans that are suffering from PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Military Sexual Trauma. They rescue dogs that are in local shelters that have the aptitude to be trained as a service dog. They they work with the dog and the military member to assist them in daily living. I have watched military members re engage in life, watched veterans become more involved with their families again, start working and becoming productive citizens again. I remember one of the first graduations I attended when a veteran spoke of the number of pills he was taking daily to deal with anxiety, pain, depression etc. and how when he got his service dog he was able to actually sleep again and cut down on all the necessary medications. Truly a life changer! I am a nurse and have cared for patients that are on multiple medications - your life is not yours, you just exist. These service dogs are giving the veteran assistance, trust, and reliability unlike any pill out there. Truly a wonderful nonprofit.
