Meeting Beverly and Healing Horses has been nothing short of a miracle for my family. As adoptive parents we have had many challenges and the help my wife and I have received from Healing Horses is priceless. My two daughters continue to volunteer there and my oldest is now a leader there. Thank you Beverly! ❤

My son Jonathan has been going to Healing Horses for some 3 years. The changes in Jonathan have been amazing, his self confidence.....through the roof!! The way he feels responsible for those horses, he takes his "job" very serious. The program Ms. Beverly has going on there is unlike any other, first of all, the minute you walk in that place, you feel love, Ms. Beverly loves the horses and these special individuals, who by the way always seem to have a smile on their faces. It's amazing how she can figure which horse fits with who's personality. Jonathan loves going there every Saturday and spending time being helpful, responsible and simply happy!

My daughter started off doing community service with Healing Horses One Child at a Time in March of this year. She only needed a few community service hours, but after just one day she was ready to go back, not to earn hours, but because she loved helping Ms.Bev and working with the horses. In only a few trips she had made a connection with the horses and with Ms.Bev. She even begged to go over and help with outside chores such as spreading mulch during the week. I am able use this as leverage over her when needed, she loves going so much. This organization is truly a great opportunity and does amazing work with young kids and at risk kids. Ms.Bev has such a big heart for her children (she considers all the children hers) and for the horses she rescues.

I have been a part of this non-profit from almost the very beginning. Ms Levitt does great work in getting the horse back to being healthy and happy. Some of the horses have been abused, negleted and just not treated like they should have been. My son Nathan has learned how to care for an animal and to love them and to show them kindness. My son has had a lot of traumatic experiences in his life. Healing Horses has been a great place to learn that he is not alone and he can come through this and move on with his life. I have seen Ms. Levitt work
with many children through the years she truely Loves what she does and the children and horses love her. I am so thankful I have known her for 30 or so years.

I have followed Healing Horses One Child at a time for years and have been nothing but impressed. Bev’s care and compassion for horses and children are evident in everything she does. I recently have had the opportunity to work and spend time with Bev at the farm, and am amazed by her knowledge of horses, children and life. I truly believe in this non profit 100%!

I have known Ms. Bev. since I was a young child and since that day she has welcomed myself and family into her life. I have seen the passion she has for others and for the horses. I see and hear all the amazing stories of things that Ms. Bev. has done for all the children who have been apart of Healing Horses One child at a time and I how she has devoted all her time to taken care of the horses and given them a second chance to not only be loved by her but by all the children as well. I feel this is an amazing organization and would mention it to any of my friends/ families who have children that could benefit from these horses. Ms. Bev. runs this program through donations and doesn't charge any of the familys for the services that the horses provide to the children.
Ms. Bev, has taken the time to explain to my children how she has helped all the horses she has on her farm and how they help the children.

I began volunteering at Healing Horses on child at a Time several years ago when my daughter was in high school. I have seen a lot of lives changed over the years including mine. Miss Bev does what she does for the love of both the kids and the horses. She does all of this through donations and charges nothing to the families for their therapy.

My daughter has Aspergers and benefits greatly from this amazing organization. It is very difficult to find a place for teens who struggle. Ms. Bev does not charge the families anything at all and she does so much for "her" (as she calls them) kids and her horses. The teens who attend feel loved and accepted. My daughter came home after her first time at Healing Horses and stated "Mom, I finally found a place where I fit in". She was 13 and finally found acceptance! Ms. Bev helps my daughter with social skills, teamwork, accepting responsibility, and MOST importantly...accepting herself the way God created her. Ms. Bev is always ready with a smile, a hug, encouraging words and wisdom to share. Communities are in great need of places like "Healing Horses One Child at a Time". We are so blessed to have this wonderful resource for our daughter to attend.

I have been a volunteer at Healing Horses "one child at a time" inc. for 6 years now. It is wonderful to be around the horses and high risk/special needs children, Over the years I have seen children bond with horses, to the point of training them to be ridden again. I also have seen many of the high school volunteers go on to college with the knowledge of knowing what true responsibility really means.
This non profit works from outside donations only. Families do not pay to be a part of this program.
I have helped myself with my depression being out there with these wonderful horses. They love the grooming, bathing and just time spent with them. Don't overlook this non profit. You won't be sorry. Lynn Oliver

This is such an amazing organization! I have learned so many things about horses and important life lessons from here! From my experience here for 4 years now I have definitely become a stronger, and more outgoing person! I love being able to visit Ms. Bev (grandma Bev) the owner who is like another grandma to me, and all the horses and animals! I have made some amazing lifelong friends from the 4 years I've been here! This has definitely been a life changing experience!

I 1st learned of Beverly and Healing Horses when my son was in 8th grade and got into some legal trouble. He is now 16years old and still goes there. Beverly is now like a grandmother to him. She is always there to lend a hand or a shoulder to lean on, even when she has her own problems. This woman has taken in horses that others would put down and bring them back to health. She works with children and performs wonders with them, building their self esteem. She has more heart than anyone I know and one of the hardest working people out there. She is definitely God's gift to our abandoned 4 legged friends.

5 years later and I'm still volunteering here. Not a day goes by at Healing Horses "One child at a time" where you don't see some kind of healing and miracle happen. I can honestly say, I don't know where I would be if I hadn't continued coming here. I most likely would have made a left instead of making a right. I'm forever grateful for the positive influence and acceptance from Bev and the other volunteers.

Healing Horses "One Child At A Time" is a incredible place. I am extremely grateful for my experience here as a volunteer. I have made many new friends and enjoy working with the horses. I have finally found a place where I am not judged and It brings joy to my heart to know what a difference we make even if only in the heart of one child or one horse. Healing Horses has allowed me to feel accepted and know that I am part of something greater and together we are making a difference. Thank you Bev for everything that you do, allowing others to share in a truly wonderful cause and thank you volunteers. You inspire me. :-)

Things are looking so much brighter for the horses and children who so need this program. Taking abused, neglected and abandoned horses, rehabilitating them with nutrition, training and oodles of love creates a new life for these animals. They then go on to be a new life line to children with emotional, physical and learning issues. What a beautiful way to bring love to both horses and children. Great job Beverly....

I was introduced to this wonderful place by my neighbor Nancy Elkins. She and I go out there to help Bev in any way that we can. I have only been involved for a few months, but during that time I have seen many miraculous things happen. Whether it be a horse coming in that was abused in some way and then see the progression of the love and kindness to transform that animal into a trusting loving creature is beyond words. To see a child with a learning or physical challenge, become at one with such an animal is truly the most beautiful thing you'll ever see. Besides these things, it brings me personally to a new place in my own mind and heart that is better than any place I've ever been in my life.

Bravo Bev, may God keep you here for a long, long time to continue your unselfish care of those who need you.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bev and Healing Horses about a year ago. I was so interested in the horses that I asked about volunteering there. Only problem I had was I had never been around horses. Bev explained that they are just “over grown puppy dogs”.

With trepidation I went the next week to see how I could help. I have been able to see the transformation in the horses. When a new horse arrives at Healing Horse …”One child at a time”, you can see the fear in their eyes and posture. After being there for a few weeks or even days, you see them relax in their new environment. They know that they will receive the vet help, food and love that they crave.

The horses know me and accept me. I look forward each week to volunteer there. The horses greet me a nudge in the back which is their way of saying “Welcome”.

I think Healing Horses does amazing work and both the horses that have been abused and the special needs children they help because of the relationship with the horses. I have had the privilege of seeing the changes in the children that come there and their amazing progress.

Before going to Healing Horses, I thought horse therapy was just for physical needs. At Healing Horses, my granddaughter Miri receives therapy to communicate and relate to others. At each weekly session, Beverly Levitt constantly finds innovative ways to encourage Miri to increase both her vocabulary and sentence length.
Healing Horses and Beverly Levitt excel in multiple diverse areas. In addition to rescuing horses and therapy for special needs children, Healing Horses is a great place for teenagers. For Miri, relating to the teens is a vital part of her therapy.
Healing Horses is a win win situation all the way around for the horses, special children, as well as giving teenagers a productive way to spend their spare time.
Grandmothers are entitled to "senior moments". Frequently, I find myself saying that Miri goes to Heavenly Horses. For Miri, Healing Horses One Child at a Time is heavenly.
