Mission: The mission of hawk ridge bird observatory is to protect birds of prey and other migratory birds in the western lake superior region through research, education, and stewardship.
Programs: Research of migratory birds using banding and counting data collection to study the intensity of bird migration and the distribution, abundance, and migratory pathways of birds in the western lake superior region. Research also includes citizen science based activities, such as the hawk ridge st. Louis county birdathon, western great lakes owl monitoring project, and west skyline hawk count.
