Hasty’s Haven rescued some nurse mare foals a few years ago and we reached out. We adopted a foal from them and he is living his best life with us! We are blessed to have been able to adopt this sweet boy from this wonderful nonprofit. They are truly life changing for us as well as the many animals they provide for.

Hastys Haven is my favorite place, my happy place. All of the animals there are deeply loved and cared for. Joann goes above and beyond to bring these animals out of horrible situations and give them a life they are worthy of. They quickly realize they are safe and taken care of and no longer have to be afraid or worried. I wish every rescue had the heart and integrity that Hastys Haven has.
Hi, My name is Sherri and I just recently adopted two (2) Arabian horses from Joann and her wonderful organization Hasty Haven. My first visit there was amazing!! The kindness, love and welcoming me into their Rescue was amazing. I can see the love and care that they have in helping any animal they can. They do more than just help them, they go to a level of fighting for them in order for the animals to have the best life forever. If you are looking to adopt or just want to volunteer at the Rescue I promise you will be blessed. Hasty's Haven is absolutely amazing! I run a 501c3 horse rescue myself and met Joann (the founder) when she had gotten teeter the 24hr old baby donkey! Ever since then we have been dear friends and help each other and are there for each other anytime day or night!! This rescue absolutely does amazing things and saves so so many! Best rescue around! And that's coming from someone who has their own just 30 minutes away! I will always support them and so should everyone else!! 10 stars!
Hasty’s Haven is not only a rescue for horses but it is a family. This family has been working towards the dream of having a horse recuse for many years. They deeply love their animals, they show this everyday in through their kindness and dedication. They are gentle with animals that have had trauma. They are determined in giving animals the time they need to recover and trying everything to help the animal succeed. When they took in a horse a client needed to surrender, they not only took in the horse no questions asked. They also met my client with love and compassion for her, as she was grieving giving up a horse she loved and care for for years.
Hasty’s Haven is one of the best places to ever happen for rescue. JoAnn and her crew are some of the best hearted people you will ever meet. We have personally witnessed firsthand the turnaround of severe neglect cases all because Hasty’s Haven was willing to take a chance on the least of these.
Thanks to the wonderful crew at Hasty's Haven, we got out first two horses for our place, a gorgeous Dutch Harness mare, and a spicy little Rocky Mountain Pony filly. Later, we got our mini horse, and donkey. These animals had been through it, but Hasty's performed miracles with them, giving us 4 well adjusted animals, that otherwise would not have survived. The animals they save go on to be someone's heart horse, therapy animal, companion animal, and pasture pets. The heartbreak they endure to rescue the animals they do is impossible to put into words. Hasty's Haven is full of angels on earth, and they save the four legged angels here with us. The world needs more organizations like Hastys.
Everyone is knowledgeable and kind! They do not mind answering questions and making sure that each home is a perfect fit. I have adopted many animals from them and always recommend them to others

Hasty’s haven is an amazing rescue. Their care and dedication to every horse that comes in is truly amazing. I work very closely with them as I am their Veterinarian. We work closely together to find everything we can to make the horses feel better and find them the best homes. Joann and her teams love for the horses goes so deep.
Hasty’s Haven is a true inspiration. The entire team there is dedicated to making the world a better place, one animal at a time. Hasty's Haven is an incredible nonprofit that rescues, rehabs, and adopts out horses and donkeys. They take in animals that other rescues would normally pass on because their rehab expenses would be crippling financially. Hasty's founders work tirelessly to raise the much needed funds to provide exceptional care and even in some cases a humane passing.
I’ve known the Hasty’s Haven team for several years now! I first met them through working with their vet who attends to all of their rescues! They take the best care of all of their animals and even go the extra mile for those with special needs! There have been several times we have called Hasty’s Haven with a horse in need and Joanne is always there to help! When I went off to vet school, Joanne posted about a little filly in a Tennessee kill pen right down the road from my house! I was able to foster Virginia and really learned a lot about what these horses go through and what it takes to rehabilitate one! I ended up adopting Virginia because she was so special and taught me so much! I can’t say enough good things about Hasty’s Haven! The sweetest people who do the best work for all the right reasons!
Hasty’s Haven is run by the most amazing group of people. They’re kind and inviting to volunteers and guests, but most importantly they work day and night to take care of the many Equine in their care. So many lives saved there and I’m happy to be a part of it!
Volunteering at Hasty Haven was one of the best experiences I have ever had. It was more than spending time with the animals. The owner Jo Ann is passionate and you can tell she would do anything for these animals. She is eager to teach you even if you know very little. I tell everyone I know to visit Hasty Haven. I just wish I had more time in my day to spend there.
I first became acquainted with Hasty's Haven when they became involved in a seizure of a large number of Arabian Horses being abused, starved and were dying or close to deaths door. Hasty's Haven helped with the rescue, and brought two a very young mare and her foal back with them. They were on deaths door. As best I could I tried to help financially as I am an Arabian lover from get go, and raised and trained them for years. These two not only flourished, but were pampered and brought back to not only peak health, but they worked with these two as no handling had ever been done with any of those Arabians. I know all the horses, ponies, and other critters in their care are treated with love, respect, and the utmost care at all times. Just recently, these two were adopted, and although I will probably never see them again, my heart goes with them to their new home, (and I wish I could have taken both of them, but I was not able to). I know their new human companion will give them a wonderful home, and care for them also, as Joann it very picky about where the rescues go to when adopted. I know that all involved with Hasty's Haven work so hard to save, protect and nurture every horse, and pony (and other critters) that they can. It is my fervent hope that others will see this and meet Joann and then help out in whatever way they can to support the work Hasty's Haven does so well. They are exceptional people doing exceptionally hard work to save and protect those horses, ponies and other critters that need help so desperately. They go through heart break and happiness and the picture I added, well if you could have seen these two a few days after they arrived at Hasty's Haven, you would have thought they would never have made it, and today, they look perfect, this picture was taken a few months after they arrived, but when they arrived, you could count every bone in their body. they had been so neglected, were totally doing without real nourishment. In just a few months they had gained weight, and started getting their spirit back. I know they worked tirelessly to make sure Journey and Cruz received the best care, best nutrition, and were loved. It was miraculous to me, as the first day I saw them, I wondered if they would even survive. I just do not have enough words to cover how wonderful I know Hasty's Haven (staff and volunteers) are!

I became acquainted with Hasty's Haven when almost 40 Arabian Horses were seized from from a man that was starving them and abusing them to extreme. I have found that they are so dedicated and caring, trying to help all horses that come to their attention and at auctions that have need of care and the attention they have been without from previous owners. They work hard and make even a visitor feel at home and appreciated.
The changes in the horses after Hasty's Haven takes them is quickly apparent. Out of the Arabians, they took a momma and baby that were in the worst shape of all of the Arabian, waking skeletons just one step away from deaths door, and the improvement and changes in these two are miraculous, they now carry good weight with ribs quickly disappearing, the coats are becoming shiny and healthy, and their attitudes are perky and bright.
I can not sing the praises for Hasty's Haven loud or often enough.

Our story with Hasty’s Haven begins with a travesty and becomes a triumph. There is no end because we are blessed to know this awesome, open-hearted and totally devoted family.
We met during the developing rescue and seizure of 25 starving and neglected equines and a number of goats; etc. from a neighboring county in North Carolina.
Joann and her family are skilled at fostering and safely adopting out Equines to secure and loving homes.
Starving horses not only have to be carefully and slowly returned to health at a great expense but also handled differently due to the trauma many have experienced. They can be difficult and sometimes outright dangerous.
Hasty’s Haven provides the best in daily care, veterinary care and also has a very skilled handler to help gentle and reassure even the most scared, feral and potentially aggressive creatures. Hasty’s Haven fostered and brought along a young mare from this case and in less than one year ‘Miranda’ (formerly nicknamed ‘Kicky/Bitey’) has found a loving home where she is comfortably venturing out on trail rides with her new farm family.
Miranda is just one example of many animals that have had the good fortune to find themselves saved by the fine family that is a true “Haven”!
The minute I met Joann at Hasty’s Haven I knew I wanted to be a part of the team. I am so impressed with the love and care she shows to all of the animals they rescue. She can tell you everything about the history of every animal and the horrors it has been through. Each animal has a very specific health and rehabilitation plan. The animals she takes in are a part of her family not just pets. I am so happy to be a volunteer at Hasty’s!
Hastys Haven does wonderful work for horses. They take premier care of their animals and work tirelessly to ensure they find the best homes for each and every one of them. You can tell when you visit them how much they care and how hard they work for every single animal in their care. They are truly inspiring and a wonderful place to find a horse that is a good match. I tell all my friends and clients who are looking into a horse or farm animal to talk to them.
Went out to their facility to assist in some picture taking for their site. All of their animal residents (horses, donkeys, chickens, pig, etc) have plenty of space to move around and are feed regularly. They are doing an excellent job at providing the love and care necessary to all of the animals present and you can see it in the way that the animals will interact with people both new to them and that they have grown accustom to. Hastys Haven is an excellent group and hope to see more of what they can do
Hasty's Haven has been instrumental in the Rescue and Rehab of so many animals that had been abused and/or neglected by former owners. Without Hasty's Haven many animals would have been slaughtered or flat out died in the pens. I support them at any time I can.
This nonprofit is full of wonderful people with big hearts that truly care about the work they do. I love to see the stories about all of their rescues and i love to help out when i can. They're the best in my book!
We have been a huge fan and follower of Hasty’s Haven for awhile now. My daughter has enjoyed volunteering there once and talks all the time about wanting to go back. We donate as often as we possibly can. We believe whole heartedly in what they are doing and admire their love and dedication to these animals they are saving. ❤️

This is a truly amazing rescue that cares deeply about the for the animals well being. Hasty’s Haven does incredible work to rehabilitate horses and other farm animals that have been abused, neglected, and otherwise mistreated. From the first time I volunteered there, I felt welcome and included. It’s been wonderful to have a part in helping to make profound improvements in the health and well-being of animals in critical condition. The love that they have for the animals in their care is truly inspiring.

There aren't enough words to fully describe how awesome our experience was with this organization. We adopted 2 horses, 1 donkey, and a mini horse from them. Joann was thoroughly transparent about what care the animals would need, once they left her rescue and built their new lives in their forever home, on our farm. We are delighted with each animal we adopted! This family TRULY KNOWS equines! The rehab work they do, on what might appear the most "hopeless" cases, is outstanding. They love these animals deeply and their devotion to them is highly evident in all they do. Their adoption fees are so reasonable and we feel comfortable contacting them if we have any questions, after the adoption. We LOVE HASTY'S HAVEN!!!! I am the current farrier for Hasty’s Haven. Over my years in the profession I have visited a lot of rescues, and I can honestly say that in terms of the care the horses are given not one of them comes close to these girls at Hasty’s. You can really feel the love that all of them have for the horses in their care. They are dedicated, determined, and passionate about their work. I know that anything the horses here need, they get. That might mean scraping pennies or going hungry but if that’s what it takes, that is what happens. Any horse would consider it a blessing to land here. Thank you girls for what you do for the horses.

I began to support them when they saved the life of a horse named Athena. Same Name as my granddaughter. I watched what they do and how they care for each animal as if it is the most important animal on the planet and realized they truly care about life. They are there with animals in horrible conditions and some at the end of their lives and they treat them with dignity and respect. I have also seen sweet ponies and donkeys from the beginning of their lives grow and mature and find forever homes. What a wonderful organization.

I volunteered at Hasty have for about 6 months before moving to Oklahoma. Joann the owner was very patient with my daughter and taught her many things about owning a horse. I went on a rescue with the group and saw what rescuing really means. I love the heart that she has for the horses and how they truly become part of her heart. Love Hasty Haven.
