Harvest Time International is a great and trustworthy organization. I have donated to HTI for many years and it feels good to know that they will do with the donations what they say. I also like the fact that they don't believe in free hand outs to everybody.
This isn't a charity, it's a store. Food is cheaper at retail stores. Also I'm legally blind and soon as I walked in, an employee made a rude, demeaning comment. This place is a scam, praying on people in need. Disgraceful.
The prices were average. They charge 6 dollars to shop there. You can find better deals at walmart and biglots for food and it wont be passed the sell by date.
Also, employees made fun of my friend who is legally blind.
Bad experience overall. We really needed free or heavily discounted food and couldnt find any here.
My 12-year-old daughter needed community service hours for Beta Club and I wanted to make sure it was meaningful and gave her the opportunity to learn that not everyone is as fortunate as she is. I choose Harvest Time because it gave her the opportunity to help families in our community. The staff at Harvest Time were very welcoming and appreciative of us being there. The shift we signed up for was only 3 hours and she needed more hours to fulfill her community services hours. The staff welcomed us to come earlier and get more hours. Her "supervisor" Nick was very professional and knowledgeable but was also able to communicate on her level so that she understood exactly what was expected of her. She is looking forward to going back soon and even asked if they would let her come help "just for fun" because she liked knowing she was helping others. For me, it was a proud mom moment.
I like to say that volunteering uplifted me by helping someone else without a fee. The environment was safe and everyone staff and customers were friendly.
I have witnessed God work in wonderful ways through this ministry. Their mission field and influence has grown exponentially. They supply food, clothing, housing, medical and dental care, and spiritual support to those in need on a local and international basis. In disasters they are the go to people for help by local and state government. They are trusted by both secular and religious organizations due to their integrity and dedication. Corporate donors trust them with reclamation of product that would otherwise be lost or less efficiently disbursed by other NGO's.
This organization can be trusted to use every dollar of revenue in the mission field with the minimum in administrative costs.
Harvest time is an organization of integrity. An organization who cares about the people, the employees and the community. They see the need in the community and they meet it even if it takes from their own lives. Blessings to you all at Harvest Time.

Harvest Time International is a wonderful and God filled organization that helps people not only people within their local community, but people all over the world. They are an inspiration to so many other organizations and cities, providing a biblical model to helping families who are struggling. Everyone within the organization loves people and has committed their lives to helping others. I am honored to know and serve with them.
This organization goes above and beyond in their desire to help relieve the hurt and pain that so many in our nation and the nations of the world are experiencing through lack, trauma, devastation and other calamities that are facing the world today.
They provide various types of resources at minimal cost to those receiving help. Dr. Murphy and his staff are consistently looking for ways to better assist the community and the world at large.
I admire their diligence and the integrity to maintain an organization that is not money driven but people driven.
I am proud to be a part of this great organization.
While spending my vacation in Florida I had the privilege to help sort donations and stock shelves at Harvest Time. I was amazed at the huge amount of gift in kinds they receive and how well and proffessional it was all organized. Besides contributing to a real good cause it has also been a lot of fun volunteering there. The staff has been very friendly, welcoming and thankful. I also had the chance to see the dental clinic that back then has been in the process of being set up. They became aware of the problem of the people and simply reached out to meet the need.
When my family were in tough times and we were in really hard times with money, there weren't many options for us. Harvest Time was a blessing at the perfect time for us to help us get back on our feet.

I met John Murphy on an airplane and fell in love with him and knew I had to help his ministry anyway I could. John and Mary are truly servants of the Lord.
I have had the honor of knowing this ministry and outreach from it's early days. The visionaries and leaders are some of the most generous people one could ever meet. I have the privilege of watching Harvest Time International grow, from a small truck trailer to a massive warehouse. I think one of the many reasons for it's amazing growth is that Harvest Time has given people their dignity back. It's not about food and clothing alone. It's about giving people a reason to hope again. It's about giving people the dignity and the hope that they really matter. Sam Hinn
Great place to volunteer and feel you are really making a difference. Tons of people get helped here every day. Love it!
For over 15 years, I have worked and watched this non profit blossom into a well oiled machine that distributes food, household goods and medical supplies to sustain nonprofit organizations in the United States and also responds to disasters nationwide and as needed worldwide. I am very proud and honored to have my name associated with this amazing organization.
This organization helps families to help themselves. Their Community Hope Center helps families who struggle to stretch their income. It is NOT a grocery store but an assistance program which more than 500 families visit on a daily basis. They also house a medical and dental center as well as an DCF food stamp office.Harvest Time provides so many services helping local families but also worldwide. Just stop by for a tour or volunteer to see yourself!
Wonderful ppl to work w. Out to make a real difference in the community. Everyone there has a pure heart of gold.
I know this organization since 1998 when I volunteered the first time. They have grown tremendously helping families around the world. Great place to volunteer!
Great staff!!!. Amazing service!!!. You can find at this place real people working for others and serving all the time.
Today this organization was said to be open, after three volunteers signed up (Myself one of them) , we were sent confirmation emails that we were still good to go for Today. After arriving, we found the place completely dark and when we called the office our messages were ignored. Honestly, I was appalled at the overall treatment of us volunteers- I will not be returning.
I have volunteered and have done tons of charity for my community. Im a single mom of 4 and one is chronically ill. This is the first time i have ever needed help and cant seem to get any. I dont know if I dont know who to talk to or what. But i cant get the help. Im trying to make rent and cant feed my kids. Im self employed and cant get help bc I dont have pay stubs. Ive had my job for 10 years. Im devastated that I've never asked for anything and cant get help the one time i need it. My name is Rebecca. 4079364776 if anyone knows how to do this
The last several years their prices have gone bonkerz! They are supposed to be helping those who need help, not screwing them. The final nail in the coffin was last month I was overcharged at checkout by $10. The register lady just kept ringing up other customers as I waited for over 20 minutes. Seems NOBODY has a brain there to just give me $10 cash back and send me on my way while they figure out how to process the over ring. What do they need me there for? A bunch of morons. Tired of standing and waiting I ripped up my receipt and exited. Good riddance.
HTI is such a life source for Seminole county. My wife and I have donated occasionally for the past several years and feel great about the work they do. We have also taken a tour of the facilities to get a first hand feel of the operations and were very impressed. So many people coming through every day to receive help and the staff is very professional and does a great work. HTI is also unique because it is not just a food bank. People in need can receive food, clothing, house cleaning items, personal care and even furniture. They definitely make a difference and are a trustworthy, longstanding organization.
Harvest Time is an amazing ministry. Years ago, when our family was going through some very hard times, Harvest Time stepped in and met some of our needs. I will never forget their kindness and graciousness during that time. Since then, our family has volunteered with Christmas Bag of Joy. It's truly amazing to see the faces and hear the stories of people who are able to give Christmas gifts to their kids because of HTI. I also saw many years, when there weren't enough donated gifts to meet the needs, that members of the Harvest Time team would go and purchase gifts so that they wouldn't run out of gifts for the people. I also appreciate the fact that HTI offers practical counseling to help change situations.
Harvest Time is an amazing ministry. The way the organization is run and kindness of the people running it is extraordinary. I am continuously impressed with their generosity and willingness to help low income families meet their many needs. My family and I have been donating toys and our time to their annual Christmas event for the last 5 years and we will continue to do so.
I have never been to Harvest Time Inc, however I know friends that have served there through volunteering , and also know individuals that serve in management as well. All those involved in either capacity have been faithful and concerned about the quality and care that goes into making Harvest Time successful! I plan to someday volunteer there myself because I am aware of the large volume of products they offer and the huge responsibility that goes with administering all their resources to people who are relying on them. I know many have been served well through this organization and we need to support this ministry that serves and provides so much for so many!
My experience in Harvest Time International as a volunteer has been excellent. It's a great place to volunteer and get back to the community. Great vision and mission for those who are in need.
Harvest time international is a great organization. I have volunteered there countless times and I can only say good things about this place. John and Mary Murphy truly have hearts for the people. They work extremely hard to keep this place running. All of these negative reviewers fail to realize how much they have given up to build a place not for themselves, but for the community. I have personally seen this ministry change so many peoples lives and is continuing to do so. Thank you so much for allowing me to help out in the community. I can tell this organization is only about helping people. I look forward to continue volunteering there.
I worked yesterday as a volunteer stocking and sorting food for the food pantry. It was really hard work but it was so rewarding to talk with the people that came in to get food and to know I was helping someone in some way.
I was introduced to Harvest Time International through involvement in Leadership Seminole. Pastor John Murphy truly has a heart for making the community a better place and giving a hand where there is a need. HTI strives to make a difference to as many people as they can by filling a need for housing, food , medical supplies and even dental care for those that can't afford to do so on their own. I'm impressed with their broad vision and dedication to service. They are a great asset to our county and beyond!
This is a great organization to give your time and donations. The founders have a heart to help people in need and this organization was founded in their own garage! Today they are helping families locally but also international. The great thing, everyone can join and be a part to make a difference. There are various volunteer opportunities sorting relief products like school supplies, food, clothing etc.. it's a great place to volunteer for church and corporate groups as well as families with children.
This place has GREATLY helped out my family. If it wasn't for Harvest Time, I don't know what we would have done. Some of the prices can be a little high at times, but they are still 30-60% under what it is in other stores. I got to meet the owners of this place and they have the most genuine hearts.
Thank God for Harvest Time.
It's getting to pricey everytime people go there the prices go up you can't go online to get prices from wal-mart (exc) the stuff is donated from diffrent stores for people can afford to buy it used to get stuff cheaper then wal-mart now might as well go to wal-mart and by the same stuff you have cheaper you raised the price on everything to benefit youself to pay your car payments i guess you don't have any pride in what Harvest Time International Inc is all about that's for sure not about you living high off the hog
I lost my respect for Harvest Time when they fired countless staff over the past few months claiming "money problems". This place profits off of poor people while the owners and all of their relatives employed there drive luxury cars. It must be really hard to pay your staff with car payments that high.
For a place that has so much potential, it's a shame that no one has stepped in or complained. the owners are there to make money and look good to donors, and don't care what happens to their loyal employees or their customers. If this is supposed to be a "Christian" organization, I'd hate to see what heathens would do.
i came here to work and complete my community service hours for probation. when I first came I met the 2 coordinators terry and frankie. terry was quiet and frankie was funny and kind. working in the back was terrible, betty and ken are the meanest people i have ever met. i liked being in the office with frankie she would make me file and made me feel welcome. i found out that she was fired and i just dont have any motivation to go there. people are rude and they make me feel like a bad person. terry is never there. a lot of nice people get fired there. bring back some happy people and put some cold air in the warehouse.
Harvest time is a coverup for the pastors needs.
Employees work no breaks except a 30 minute lunch.
Which wouldnt be so bad except they work in non air conditioned areas and on their feet the majority of the time.
If this place is indeed a missionary there to help people why does a quota need to met daily, total $ taken in for the day beeds to be reported by 5:15?
Volunteers have wised up and have stop coming because they realized working for a tyrant like Betty and scammers John and Mary Murphy is not work it.
Donations that are suppose to go hurricane and disator victims end up on the store floor for sale.
Don't believe?
Come in for urself.
See how workers are treated like third world prisoners.
See how the nasty the store is jept while John and Mary drive infinity cars.
Do not waste ur time volunteering or working here.
Only come to investigate and report ur finding here for all to know.
The 5 stars are from harvet time administration lying to the public.
Come see for urself!
Harvest may have started out with a good heart but now greed has taken over.
I've started volunteering here for almost a full 2 weeks and might I just say that this place is amazing. The people here are the nicest around, they truly care about the well being of their volunteers and their workers. The work they have me do is pretty fun, the people there are EXTREMELY friendly and caring. I've looked at a myriad of different community service options I had open to me, but once I came here, I knew that this is the place I wanted to do my full 100 hours. I would recommend anyone wanting to do community service hours to come here.
Not only do they treat you with dignity but they go beyond in trying to find ways to help you out in your medical and dental needs. As a patient in the health I can't say enough about how well they treat you and will go beyond to make an appt if you need to be soon sooner than the scheduled apt. As a new patient for the dental I will be going in on Friday and having 6 teeth extracted for free.
Im an ex employee, I quit because from the outside it looked nice but once I was in it became a nightmare, and most of the reviews here are true. behind the scenes harvest time is a sinking ship. employees are treated like sweatshop workers and receive no breaks except a 30 minute lunch. your expected to be on your feet the entire time, no talking and limited restroom visits. management needs extensive training on how to treat people and how to communicate. bonnie was mean she doesnt work there anymore but every once and a while i'll see her downtoen, and terry doesnt work. shes' been there for some time and its wierd how she gets so many days off and still remains hired. Yes prices are going up because now harvest buys their stuff and needs to make the $ back. Yes the workers are mean and rude but maninly because management is mean and rude to them. and yes the owners are stealing your money. but its really simple dont shop there and dont work there.
For several years I was a 24HR caregiver. Our family's income hardly covered the essentials. No extra for stuff people take for granted, like OJ, a car, meat, fish, chicken, fresh produce. Harvest Time fulfilled a need. ...for several years...UNTIL the last year! Someone has decided to raise prices, far above, in some cases, what you can buy and pay for in dollar stores, even Publix(with coupons). They are telling every employee to tell the "complainers" it's due to Harvest Time now having to pay for food items from previous donating vendors. Employees are saying the general public is fed up. I NO LONGER can afford to shop there. I'm telling my senior high-rise fellow occupants about what is going on, and, they too, agree not to be able to shop there any more. Funny how Second Harvest in Orlando gets all their items donated, and Harvest Time has to pay. Something stinks in Sanford.
They sell BROKEN and DAMAGED items and WILL NOT RETURN YOUR MONEY. They Sell EXPIRED food and WILL NOT RETURN YOUR MONEY. They sell at slightly less than original retail. Many there are rude. The "Pastor" and his family have got to be raking it in since everything they sell, they get for free! What a racket!!
Their Genuine care for all no matter what ethnic, social, cultural background is incredable! They really are filling a huge need here in our community and internationally both socially and economically by providing Free medical and dental care, treating those that are in need with dignity and respect. The founders John and Mary have an incredable heart for helping people. The goals they set before them are nothing short of wonderful and incredable! Thank you John and Mary! MR
This is a great place -- when you needed a helping hand they were great to me and my family--its just sometime price be to high on some items then things be one price today and another price the next day on the side Bonnie and Betty run omg price go up and up everyday it like going to walmart. Same price. Then some of your working not friendly at all special Bonnie .
I've volunteered at Harvest time for over a year. i found everyone there to be very caring and compassionate about helping people who are in need.If You are looking for a place to volunteer I highly recommend Harvest time. You will be greatly blessed.
I have had a membership card for over four years now. It was time to re-new but because we make to much money according to the chart the lady had we were not allowed to renew. We were turned away. We work for a living & do not get ANY state assistance. We have bills like all other american's and appreciated the savings we got at Harvest Time. Maybe you guys should require a pay stub because if all people were honest like I was there would be less people going to Harvest Time! The lady asked us if we were losing our home? I guess if we didn't pay our bills then maybe she would have given us the card. Very Sad!
Harvest-Time International is a wonderful Christian Community Assistance organization that is there to help all those who are in need, either Locally, State wide, Nationally, or Global. Many of us have come and volunteered, made friends, cried and prayed for each other or for those who have come in with no other place to turn to. I fine Harvest-Time employees giving of themselves. And this was in tune to the Haiti Disaster Relief, at the time of the earthquake that took place. Harvest-Time is the best of non-profits. God Bless
I think that Harvest Time Int. is a great organization also a blessing for the community. I believe that we need more non profits organizations like this one that can bring hope to the people in need and an opportunity to serve others.

Thank you for your feedback Maria! We are actually going to add dairy products to our Assistance Program very soon.
