In the past few years I have had to ask for help in a couple of different areas. Food is the first and foremost need. I have needed to avail myself of the services of The Harry Chapin Food Bank. They volunteers are kind, helpful, and friendly. Everyone associated with the organization does their level best to be of assistance. I have found recently that when you are in need some people look upon you as though you are a bum. Just looking for a handout, in fact that is hardly ever the case. I hope to be able to return some of their kindness by volunteering in their organization.

Mission: To overcome hunger in our communities through education and by working in a cooperative effort with partner agencies in the procurement and distribution of food, equitably and without discrimination.
Target demographics: Individuals, Families, Seniors, and Children
Geographic areas served: 5 Counties of Southwest Florida
Programs: Where is the Food Going? Our food distribution programs aim to reduce barriers that families face as they struggle with food insecurity by making food readily available throughout our five-county footprint. Through these distribution programs, Harry Chapin Food Bank feeds more than 250,000 people a month.
