My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Harmony Farm Sanctuary during our road trip and we are so glad we did! We had signed up for a tour and were lucky enough to have Shari as a tour guide. She was so lovely! We had such a great time during the tour that we ended up volunteering for a couple of days. The cherry on top was that we got to spend time with all of the sanctuary residents afterwards. Nothing gets better than that!!
My girlfriend and I went for a tour in September and volunteered afterwards. We loved it so much we came back the next day to volunteer again! Pancho the donkey was obsessed with me it was great.
Our tour guide was wonderful and I can tell she puts a lot of thought into how best to articulate animal rights talking points. Hope we can visit again someday!

Harmony Farm is an amazing place! From the second I stepped foot on the property, I could tell how well taken care of the animals are. From their diets, to the enrichment items in their enclosures, to the love and attention they get, I can’t imagine a better life for an animal. I stayed on the property for over a month and learned the animal care routine inside and out. The farm is such a well-run and organized operation with the best volunteers! Robine and the volunteer team are incredibly dedicated and passionate and know each and every animal’s personality. It’s truly a special place!
I've been volunteering at HFS for 10 years and it's amazing to see how much has been done. Compassion abounds says the hand painted sign at the front gate, and Harmony Farm Sanctuary lives up to it in every way possible. From the smallest mouse to the largest steer, every animal is treated with dignity and respect, and can expect to live out their remaining days well fed, well cared for, loved, and in safety. The volunteers that come find purpose and meaning in the community that is created there, and the children and adults that come in search of healing can find it from the animals and people alike.
Whenever I get to the Sisters area, I have to visit this place! I find Harmony Farm Sanctuary to be one of the most spiritually uplifting experiences possible. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a number of volunteers and just about all of the animals. To see the care and love that the volunteers provide and the appreciation and love that the animals give in return is absolutely amazing! Such beautiful interactions that really make you appreciate life itself. I really couldn’t imagine how strongly bonded the volunteers and the animals could get until I saw it with my own eyes! The care and compassion that the founder and volunteers have for the animals here is abundantly clear. When I was working with Harmony Farm, I witnessed them give emergency medical treatments to animals and rescue animals who were going to be killed by their original owners. The work they’re doing to create a safe place for animals and for humans is so healing. You can tell the animals are happy and safe there. I loved volunteering, never would have stopped if I hadn’t moved away.
I have been blessed to be a volunteer at HFS for seven years. I occasionally help with the feeding but I mostly do the numerous odd jobs that need to be done. I help trim hooves, do animal care, transport animals to vet, manage the manure pile, and help wrangle animals for farriers and vets. I am incredibly fortunate to help with a weekly group from our local schools. HFS is a magical place with a wonderful and dedicated group of intelligent, kind, and committed volunteers led by a visionary founder/CEO. Had the pleasure of volunteering there for about 18 months before my wife and I moved out of the area. I learned a lot of about compassion in that time, reinforcing all the reasons I went vegan in the first place. A wonderful place to be a part of, I miss all the people and animal friends.

The space is organized and clean, with each animal receiving the proper amount of care (and more!). The animals live very long lives in a safe and loving environment. Volunteers are given thorough training to help them better aid the animals and farm.

Being part of Harmony Farm is one of the best gifts in my life! I have learned so much about animals and about myself! From my earliest memory I have always loved animals. I have always had a dog as a best pal to adventure with...I've always been a fun "auntie" with all of my friends pets... and I always knew I wanted to do something with animals. I thought I would one day be a veterinarian when I was a kid, but then I realized that that could be a really sad job if people didn't care about their animals like I did. I've thought about volunteering at an animal rescue ...but then also realized that I would want to bring home every one-eyed and three-legged dog, and I would feel sad for every animal I couldn't adopt. Working at Harmony Farms is perfect though! I get to hang out with all of these happy animals that already have the most wonderful home! And what is even better, all of the humans there, love the animals as much as I do! Harmony Farms might be the happiest place on earth! It is a gift to find the place that you are supposed to be!

I have loved Harmony Farm for so many years. They used to be in Sisters and I would donate my post halloween pumpkin ... and just want to be a part of what they were doing. I finally started volunteering this summer...and it has been the best experience. All of these animals get so much LOVE. And all of the animals seem to understand english...because everyone is constantly talking to the animals. The volunteers at the sanctuary treat the animals as their friends... and it just makes you happy to go there...or be a part of these rescued animals lives. I have learned so much and I'm just so appreciative that places like Harmony Farm Sanctuary exists.

Every hour I’ve spent at Harmony Farm Sanctuary has been such a gift to myself! This was never my intent when I sought opportunity to volunteer there; of course I hoped to help some animals and learn more about them. What I’ve found in more than 20 months of visits there, is that I yearn to be there! I have such deep fondness for each of the individual personalities there, and see that same response in other volunteers with whom that I work. I love how all the busyness of our society just fades into the background, and I am fully present with the animals and the rhythm of caring for them. This is one of my happiest places on earth. Every animal is special & able to be exactly who they want to be. I actually get giddy, a day or two before my volunteer shift. Some of my most favorite beings live here, and I actually have a really difficult time driving by the road that leads to this sanctuary, without stopping in.

A transformation of soul and energy happens the second you drive through the gates of Harmony Farm Sanctuary. The cows and goats come to the fence to greet you, Ronald the cat makes sure to direct you to the right parking spot, and Sirius, Lurch, and Lily the turkeys say, "Hello" in their special ways.

I loved visiting and staying at Harmony Farm Sanctuary so much. The owner Robine is very kind, thoughtful, and knowledgable. I love her eagerness to share stories about herself and the sanctuary residents, as well as how much time she'll make to converse and show you around. The animals here get their needs meet well, are a joy to be around, and they are surrounded by a magical view of the trees and mountains. The tiny house on the property is very cute, has most things you need, and the bed is comfortable and comes with a great view of the sanctuary and beyond. One of my favorite experiences at the sanctuary was the sound and sense of peacefulness, especially in the evening. The sanctuary overall is very well run and there's a huge team of support given that there are over 50 volunteers. I'd come back again in a heartbeat and I highly recommend this as a place to donate, volunteer, and/or for visiting.

Farm sanctuaries hold a special place in my vegan heart and when my daughter moved to Bend, OR which is near Harmony Farm Sanctuary I knew we had to visit. This place is amazing in the work they do to rescue farm animals from terrible conditions. The animals are protected and lived by the staff and volunteers and I hope they continue to grow with the help of donations from kind people.
I found Harmony Farm Sanctuary six years ago and I can say I am so proud of the owners and volunteers learning, growing, and caring for horses, ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, and fowl. Every time I come to Sisters, I visit Harmony Farm Sanctuary. Visiting those animals, I wonder who rescued whom! I've learned the personalities of some of the animals--intelligence, emotions---and you can tell by observing that these animals feel safe and are very well cared for. Over the past few years I have been involved with several farmed animal sanctuaries. I love all the heart and hard work that people invest in these wonderful places. Harmony Farms is a perfect embodiment of what farmed animal sanctuaries are hoping to accomplish. They have a high level of animal care and attention coupled with a strong ability to attract dedicated volunteers. They are also great at reaching out to the community, local and beyond, to inspire people, connect them, and open their hearts to the plight of farmed animals everywhere. I’m so happy to have found such a worthy organization - robust in their fundraising capacity and daily farm chores and motivational to everyone who crosses their path. This place radiates joy.
As a visitor to Harmony Farms, one is immediately impressed by the vastness of their mission. Of all the different types of animals cared for at the farm, there might be only one of each represented. Meaning the caregivers must be knowledgeable about a wide range of diverse animals (much different than caring for all the same breed/species/etc.).

I am a donor to Harmony Farm Sanctuary. It is a unique farm animal nonprofit. It rescues all such animals, including sheep displaced by recent wildfires. It’s Director, Robine Bots, and volunteers work with veterinarians to heal injured animals, including those mistreated by former owners. One grossly overweight potbellied pig could barely stand or see. Today, he is a healthy guy and much happier. A lonely male dairy calf, scheduled for slaughter, got a new friend when the Sanctuary sought to rescue an older cow. This nonprofit cares deeply about its mission and the animals are thriving.
I have an 8 year old neighbor in Sisters, Oregon, who visited Harmony Farm a year ago. The 8 year old writes stories about the animals he met at the farm. He reads the stories to his class. The stories are about how the animals have friends, don't bully each other, and how they feel safe, after coming from sad situations. His teacher uses the stories as lessons for the children about how they treat each other, their own pets, and wild life. Who knew the positive ripple effect one visit to Harmony Farm Sanctuary would have on our small world. Bravo Harmony Farm Sanctuary! You are changing lives for the better.

This is a very well-run farm that with a great admin staff, all volunteers. Every volunteer cares greatly for the mission of this farm, and everyone takes excellent care of the animals.
Harmony Farms Sanctuary is one of the most amazing places to visit and volunteer. All of the animals are loved and cared for insuring they have a long and happy stress free life. It's a place where people come together and enjoy the camaraderie of like minded individuals wanting to make a difference. It's no wonder animals and humans find enormous amounts of healing on this farm. The owners are heart centered individuals, vegan, and do not use anything produced by the animals. Harmony Farms knows each animal is different, and special care is taken when it comes to diet, medical attention, pairing and housing. There are so many amazing things about this place, I could go on and on!
Robine is my favorite person. The last few years I've traveled out there to shear the sheep and help take care of hooves.

Having moved to Sisters from the “big city”, I never could have imagined myself feeding pigs and goats or shoveling cow manure, let alone actually looking forward to doing so every week for almost three years now. The most unexpected gift from being a volunteer though, is how Harmony Farm Sanctuary has blown my heart wide open and literally changed me from the inside out. I never expected to discover the unique, endearing, funny personalities of each and every one of my “farm babies” and I certainly didn’t anticipate falling in love so deeply
As a donors and volunteers, we have witnessed first hand the extreme value in Harmony Farms Sanctuary. The passionate volunteers who year after year, work 7 days a week are the steel of the organization.
Beyond the incredibly dedicated volunteers, are the hard costs. Providing sanctuary to a wide variety of animals comes with; feed, vet & medicine bills. Harmony and it's cadre of volunteers work to secure many local donations, but cash donations are always needed.
There is no waste, every dollar goes directly to supporting the farm & caring for the animals.

The love and devotion given to every one of the rescued farm animals at Harmony Farms Sanctuary is amazing. As a fairly new, part time resident of Sisters, OR, I’m not able volunteer on a regular basis. However, Robine, who owns and runs the sanctuary, is always appreciative of any volunteer help that is offered. She and her family recently purchased a different property for the sanctuary. The family had to move and brought all the animals to their new location for purpose of providing the best lives possible for the animals. The coordination of volunteers who helped plan and execute the move of animals was an enormous task. A great amount of care and consideration was taken during the move to avoid any unnecessary stress on the animals. The animals seem to have adjusted very well and seem to love their new home.
I have been volunteering at Harmony Farm Sanctuary weekly for almost four years. It is incredibly heart warming to see the love and care that all of the rescued animals receive from the founder, Robine Bots, her family and all of the dedicated volunteers. This truly is a sanctuary for them to live out their days with love and peace. Even better is what the animals give back to all of us volunteers and therapy clients - unconditional love, laughter, lots of cuddles and a feeling of joy. The volunteer work isn’t always glamorous and there are occasional days when I’m not sure I feel like going but without fail I feel much better after I’ve been there - it is definitely my happy place. I’ve been volunteering at Harmony Farm Sanctuary for several years. Each animal has their own unique story of how they ended up at HFS; some come from abusive/neglectful owners, some were “throw aways“, tossed aside like trash. Others ended up at HFS because their previous owners could no longer care for them and wanted a better life for them.
By showing kindness and compassion to each living creature at HFS, people gain the trust and love from the animals.
I’ve been involved with Harmony Farm Sanctuary for the last 5 years. I was inspired by the book by Tracy Stewart “Do Unto Animals” and the work she has done around rescued farm animals. I searched for a local sanctuary and was introduced to Robine Bots and the work she does here in Central Oregon.
I’ve witnessed the incredible experiences the sanctuary offers to local school age students with disabilities and those who are from disadvantaged homes. Watching the kids interact with the animals warms ones heart.
My family and friends have now been introduced and have visited or donated in support of this small, but mighty Central Oregon sanctuary.
I have been so impressed and believe in the mission, that I’ve volunteered to be a board member.
I had the opportunity recently to volunteer at Harmony Farm Sanctuary with my real estate team. We were so touched by the dedication and love Robine Bots has for every animal saved from abuse and neglect. This farm sanctuary has provided our family invaluable benefits that help support the lives of not just these animals but provides fundamental life skills in compassion, diversity, acceptance and kindness that helps support the local community and beyond.
My 12 year old son has severe ADHD, diagnosed mood disorders, anxiety and depression. He understands he is unique from his friends, having to work ten times harder than anyone else. He finds solice, love & understanding in the presence of these beautiful HFS animals, that appreciate him for who he is. The farm provides him the opportunity to feel safe & loved and be able to give back to support others, uniquely like him. It also provides him work experience having to care for, clean up after and help build and clean various structures on the farm that shelter the animals. HFS allows him to be focused and driven, accomplishing the chores of the day.
It is invaluable for the mental health of not only my son, but our family. It provides us all the clarity to breathe, to refocus and understand the important work we can do to help support all creatures put upon this earth.
My entire family leaves HFS feeling refreshed, lighter and accomplished allowing us all to face any struggles with a renewed sense of self worth and confidence.

This farm provides an opportunity to do something bigger than oneself. It is a sanctuary, not just for these animals, but for any human that interacts with them. We are indebted to Robine, her family and the HFS animals for providing such an extraordinary opportunity for our family & this community
Harmony Farm Sanctuary has literally changed my life over the past 4 years from how I see farmed animals, to what I eat, to how I be with other humans and in numerous other small ways. Robine who started this sanctuary is truly, endlessly generous with her energy, time and love. She always helps when an animal needs it but also when humans need it. This sanctuary has a unique open feeling that is inviting so that any type of person can feel comfortable to come and create a relationship with other beings - human and animals. I feel loved when I am there by the animals and the other volunteers. I am there many days a week now feeding and loving on the animals because it has given me so much that I am always ready to drop what I am doing and help out. I have endless gratitude for this community.
After a 37 year career as director of non profits, I chose to volunteer at Harmony Farm Sanctuary because of its mission executed in every day actions. The founders and volunteers walk the talk in millions of ways through blood, sweat, and grunt work caring for animals and the land. The impact of this one little non profit on the community, and the many individuals who come to seek therapy, kindness, trust, and understanding are the very reasons why I stayed here when I retired. Animals find love, care and safety, often for the first time in their lives. Therapy clients, Life Skills class members who are differently abled, volunteers seeking an outlet for contributing hard work all grow in love and joy at Harmony Farm Sanctuary.
