In 2015, we had to put our 20-year-old Cat down, and of course, it was devastating. About a month went by, and we couldn't handle having our home empty of a cat. I was already following Habor Hope on Facebook, so I kept an eye out for a possible adoptable, and one day Claires photo showed up. I got a hold of Laura and scheduled a time for my husband and I to meet her. I got to meet and pet Claire and, of course, wanted her. While there I got to meet all the wonderful kitties who live there, they all have special needs and most will live out their lives at the rescue which is more like an assisted living center for kitties to live out their lives. I was fortunate that she had extra room at the time to take Claire, who wasn't special needs but did need some care. We had to wait for a few weeks while her wounds from being burned with an electric razor healed, and she was spayed. Laura delivered to our home and stayed until she could see that Claire was calm. Laura is always there when you have a Cat concern. I text her, and she gets right back to me with helpful ideas like the time my 2nd Cat got outside by mistake. You can't find a more dedicated Cat person than Laura.

Harbor Hope Cat Rescue has helped us find homes, get medical care and provide us with resources for local stray animals. This rescue is top notch and has also helped us find new family pets ourselves.

I can’t say enough positive things about Laura and Harbor Hope. Laura takes in a lot of kitties that have significant medical issues/needs. Once they are in Harbor Hopes care they have a home, love and medical care for life. Laura truly is an angel on earth!
About 13 years ago Laura rescued some kitties from a hoarding situation. I took Nutmeg and Sugar and have been a supporter ever since.

I love what Laura and her army of volunteers with Harbor Hope Cat Rescue does for all the cats that they take in. HHCR takes on many cats that need medical attention, temporary housing and sometimes just the love that that they so deserve. Laura knew I was looking for two cats, preferably a brother and sister. She knew of a foster parent to two beautiful black cats that needed a good home. They were not HHCR cats but she knew they needed a Forever Home. Laura set me up with Bethany and I adopted two beautiful black, “formally feral” cats. Laura and Bethany supplied me with all the items that I needed to start caring for the cats. I fell in love instantly with Tom and Mickey, named after my parents. Laura is a Mother Teresa to all the cats in the harbor area. This is why I’ll keep donating to HHCR

I cannot say enough good things about Harbor Hope Cat Rescue. I first got involved with HHCR while working at a specialty vet clinic. Laura brought a blind kitten who was new to the rescue in for an appointment to see if she was healthy enough for adoption. I fell in love with the kitten instantly and contacted Laura the next day to talk about adopting the little fluff ball myself! There was clear communication through the whole adoption process. I was so impressed by the great care HHCR takes with all of their rescue cats and I loved getting to meet the other shelter residents when I went at the end of that same week to finalize the adoption and bring Astrid home. That was 8 years ago, and Laura still stays connected with me and follows up with Astrid's pampered kitty life! Before I moved out of the state, HHCR always made space to babysit Astrid when I went on trips, which brought so much peace of mind, having a cat with a disability. HHCR is the best!

This is one of the best rescues in the world as far as I’m concerned Laura is the most compassion and cares about the animals and will do whatever it takes to make sure they’re safe and they have a safe home. We adopted a cat from her her name was zorra was blind and diabetic, Laura walk us through everything that we needed to for her she called to see how she was doing. She only had her for two years after we adopted her she developed cancer. It was the best two years that we had and it all stems to this rescue. Laura is the best.

This review is coming from someone who has known and worked with this rescuer since 2006 - through my work at a veterinary clinic she frequents for vet care. During these years she has also acted as support to help me with my own rehoming work for pets that have been relinquished and I have done volunteer work for her.

She is an outstanding member of the community at large offering assistance in trapping, healthcare resources, and reuniting lost pets. The work she does is ceaseless and she pours herself into the act of compassionate care for these cats whether they be completely social or feral.

Laura Carlson is a phenomenal person both as a feline advocate and a citizen in her community.
