HansonHouse has worked hard with my friend for almost 3 years now and her confidence ahd the changes in her are dramatic. As a young mother and wife, and past school councilor, her injury was not only life changing for her but also her family. She has had the support to get back out in the community and get productive again as a volunteer. She has learned to use public transportation to give her more independence and volunteers worked and still work to help her get the skills she needs to manage her housework to the best level she can, cooking and shopping help, yard help and just the social part of new friends that understand her disabilities has given her new life. The family as a whole is beginning to heal and find a new and acceptable normal as husband attends caregiver group. She is awesome and HansonHouse has helped her recover her joy.
This organization was formed when my husband had a TBI. One year before one of my best friends husband had a TBI. There were no community services for these TBI survivors. My friend and I got together and formed a organization that would help our TBI survivors to integrate into their home community again. We are starting our 15 year in business. Many members have graduated into new jobs, new life and a new place in their community.
