The prices here are absolutely ridiculous. They will be like "Retails for $180 our price $160!"... For a used item. Forget it if the tag is still on it. They are GREEDY!! I've shopped here since I was a kid, and it has gotten astronomically worse over the last few years.

American rescue workers down the street has much better prices and friendlier staff who will mark stuff down for you on the spot if they think it's prices too high. Lewisburg goodwill has good deals too. The Community Aid in Selinsgrove is good too.

Avoid this place if you thrift because you're poor. They don't care about poor people.

They overprice things and they never have sales. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you like to pay an arm and a leg for secondhand products.

At one point I was a volunteer there and I saw first hand what hand up truly is. They are greedy and rude. The manager treats the volunteers with disrespect. She gets off on belittling her volunteers and she treats them like they're her personal butler. I often hear her scolding volunteers and talking rude to them when I'm in the store. Something has to change because I'm not the only with this opinion.

I would not recommend this store to anyone on a budget because they price their items like it's a consignment shop. They claim they want to help the community but instead they FORCE others and even elderly people to work for the help that they're asking for instead of just helping. If you decide to shop at this store, just remember you will be paying $70 for a USED Cuisinart kitchen appliance or $45 for a used VHS/DVD player with defects.

I remember when HandUp was a small organization based out of a church just helping as many people as they can, now they have their own store, their own recycling, help build houses and so much more. HandUp has been there for my family during our times of struggle and we are so thankful for that.

The HandUP Foundation is more than a discount store and recycling center. It helps needy families in our area through their many different programs. The benevolent fund is funded from the proceeds of store sales and recycling materials. This fund helps families pay bills in exchange for volunteering (a handup NOT a handout). HandUP is currently raising funds for a much needed shelter. There are homeless in our area but they are invisible because they are not living on the streets. Instead they live in cars, and hop from home to home of relatives and friends. In my opinion, HandUP is the best kept secret in our ares. They are helping people and changing lives. SPREAD THE WORD!
