Programs: Hamakua institute works to promote efficient and sustainable farming practices, along with proper management of a community's natural resources. Appropriate technologies are identified which best suit a community's needs while acting in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner. The organization focuses on multi-stakeholder partnerships and social investment, identifying issues and opportunities where the interests of corporations, governments and rural communities intersect. During 2017, building of hamakua institute's future facilities continued.
