Terrible communication. If you are trying to get the dogs adopted - you would figure out a way to stay connected with people. Delays in communication reduces the chances for the dogs. Very disappointed. 48+ hours and absolutely no response. The professional thing to do is at least acknowledge people.
I do not recommend this organization. They do not communicate well. We adopted a very sick dog and we were not told about his medical condition. It was very clear that something was wrong and his medical records were never given to us at adoption. I haven’t had a good experience communicating with anyone in this organization. Some take a very long time to respond. Others are just very nasty and unfriendly. As much as I want to help rescue animals, I unfortunately do not recommend this place at all.
Very insensitive people. I would not recommend to adopt form them. I rate double zero's and feel sorry for the dogs they have. They turn away people who would truly give the dogs and cats good homes and they lie. The first time I seen the dog I wanted at Petco they told me he was two and house broken. I looked him up on the internet and they said he was five and a work in progress re being house broken. I still wanted to adopt him because we have had dogs all our married lives and have no problem house breaking our dogs. We both work close to home and our dogs are let out often. When we went to do the meet and greet at Petco the Foster told me he was a little over a year. I still didn't care and just wanted to give him a good home. He also had an assist on his behind which she never told be about I asked because I felt it, I still didn't care I wanted him. She told me we could adopt and wanted a copy of my application which they obviously don't read the originals and all of a sudden came back to me after she told me we could have him and told me they would have to discuss more if we could have him because I stated we crate our dogs when we are not home on the application and they didn't want him crated and I said fine I won't crate him I have gates. I even told her that the only dog that is really crated is our 15 year old because he is blind and we don't want him to fall down the stair. The other two really have the run of the house and they both use their cage as beds at times. They said they would e-mail the next day and never did. Then while I was waiting for my husband to get the car I seen the Foster talking to the Petco staff and telling them while one of them kept looking at me while I was crying. It was such a bad experience for me. We our good pet owners. Our dogs live very long and we take such good care of them and to be refused in this way. It was like they gave him to me and took him away. Come to find out they refused someone else I know because her older cat was declawed. I know they are saying not to declaw my son adopted a cat and did not declaw but six years ago cats were still getting declawed and vets did it. Through the years we have had five dogs, the first one lived until she was 13, second one was 17 &1/2, we currently have a 15 year, 9 year old and 7 year old. They are truly happy dogs and I feel the dog we were going to adopt would of been a nice addition to our family but I guess the Half Way House felt we were not good enough. I hope and pray that the dog we were going to adopt gets a good home. I had to rate on star to post but I really rate double Zero's.
