I first heard about HSKI when I was closed captioning a Texas news station during the Haitian earthquake. Michael was interviewed. He had made a rare fundraising trip to the states and was desperate to get back to Haiti to check on his boys. I was so impressed with his passion and sincerity that after my shift was over, I looked up HSKI and became a donor. Every time I send money or even repost a status on Facebook, I get a personal thank you from Michael and his team. I wish I could do more. I have no doubt that every bit of help that is sent goes directly to the boys.
I have never met a person more dedicated to helping orphaned children, than Michael Brewer of HSKI. His selfless gift of most of his life for these children is so amazing to me. He truly loves the children he cares for and his Number One thought is taking care of "his boys". He loves them and worries constantly about them. Michael your strength and love for these children makes my heart smile. You are amazing, and I am proud to call you my friend.
HSKI is a wonderful organization that needs our help. They go way beyond the 2nd mile to help kids who have such great needs and have nowhere else to turn. I recommend HSKI in every way for their heart of gold and faithfulness to these kids. I pray that whatever funding they need will be provided.
Hundreds of thousands of orphaned and abandoned children wander the streets , forgotten and hungry. They have been struggling to survive since long before the devastating 2010 earthquake. Family Circle/Haitian Street Kids have been offering a place of hope, food, lodging and health care to the most needy in Haiti for many years. I found this organization about 1 year ago, have followed their struggles, corresponded and donated money and supplies. I feel good about every bit of effort because I know it all goes directly to the kids. Michael Brewer has dedicated his life to helping these children. I feel this is an amazing organization.
I planned my visit to Haiti months before the earthquake and I arrived about six weeks after the devastating disaster. Observing firsthand the works of several different organizations, I was most impressed with HSKI.
Michael Brewer has given years of his life to helping our less fortunate brothers. If more people could witness the tremendous impact he has had on the "forgotten children", his organization would get the support it deserves.

My role with the HSKI is purely from a supportive prospective. My initial contact with Michael Brewer and the Haitian Street Kids inc. was about a year ago. My place of work throws away blankets because they didn’t fit the décor of the facility. I looked for a local charity to pick them up but was unable to find one. I went to the internet to possibly find a charity that could use them. I stumbled upon HSKI, e-mailed them asking if they could use the blankets. I received an e mail back explaining what they were all about and that they would be happy to accept the donation of blankets. Since then things have just ballooned, I have sent/donated many blankets, clothes, hygiene and oral care items, water filter, tarps, food, money, tents, and it all is appreciated by the children who receive. I have had quite a bit of interaction with HSKI. We are currently (my older brother and I), sponsoring some HSKI children so they can go to school. I think what they are doing is very commendable, honorable, and I am very proud to support the street kids of Haiti and look forward to them growing up to be the best they can be. I look forward to meeting them some day. Sending goods and money to The Haitian Street Kids brings me joy beyond belief. It is an honor and privelege to be associated with them.
