Programs: In 2014-2015 sant la provided 9,376 units of service to the community, and served 2,050 new clients. Below are our core program areas, operated by a team of 11 staff members, 18 dedicated volunteers and interns in over 25,000 hours. Sant la's cornerstone services include information and referral, care coordination, application assistance, review of correrspondence and naturalization support. In 2014-2015 sant la served 1,334 individuals. Through sant la's employment security and reemployment assistance, in 2014-2015 our employment team served 3,135 job seekers with resume preparation, online applications, employability orientation, referrals to training programs, and job placements. In the year, our team filed 466 applications for unemployment benefits and sucessfully managed 1,493 unemployment claims. Sant la's financial security program assisted 1,068 clients in resolving a myriad of financial issues through our services including low income tax clinic (litc); tax preparation through our vita program, mortgage modifications, consumer credit issues, resolution of identity theft, and home-buyer education. Through sant la's health connect in our community program, our community health worker assisted 1,562 individuals in accessing benefits including food assistance, medicaid & florida kidcare, including 368 clients applying for insurance under the affordable care act. Through its positive youth development and educational attainment program, sant la's parenting team continue to foster strong parent-child relations and communications, healthy family interactions and promote educational attainment. In 2014-2015, the program achieved 48 strenghtening families program graduates. As part of its community information, education and engagement program, sant las weekly tv show, "teleskopi", educates, informs and engages our community. This shows air on island television and is viewed by more than 500,000 haitian-american households in the south florida haitian-american market. We also continue to lead community needs assessments, demographic research and policy advocacy efforts to benefit the community.
