After serving on six Missions trips through four different organizations to various parts of Haiti, I have chosen to dedicate my time, talent and treasure to Haitian Christian Outreach (HCO). The HCO commitment to spreading the Gospel as well as meeting the basic needs of the people is bar none outstanding. The testimonies of Pastor Roro and his wife, Eline speak to their dedication to the Haitian people in many different communities. The staff members have been welcoming and devoted to insuring the work is progressing in all areas (church planting, healthcare, children and community development). While serving in the field on two separate trips, I observed firsthand the progressive work on the hospital; the growth of the schools for children as well as the Christ-like service of the people ranging from Pastor Roro himself, to his staff members and even the students being served. I am blessed to have partnered with such an organization as HCO. HCO is living proof of Matthew 12:33; “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.” I hope many others choose to serve alongside HCO as they will definitively see the true “fruit of the Spirit”.
Haitian Christian Outreach (HCO) is a remarkable organization, desiring change in Haiti and being that change. I had an opportunity to go on a one-week trip to Haiti through HCO in 2012 and was so impressed by the way this organization runs-- a well-oiled machine! All the questions I had or lists I needed for my first time, not only going on a missions trip but also to Haiti, was all spelled out on their website. Any questions I had were answered by a professional staff. It was a week that forever changed my life. I donate to Haitian Christian Outreach because I know that every dollar spent goes to projects that touch the people of Haiti transform lives. Every seed sown into this ministry/organization is well worth it!
Review from Guidestar
There are many hours of volunteers here in the US working the offices for HCO. There are many volunteers that go to Haiti to help lives become stronger. I personally served with RoRo many years ago and know that the dedication from him and his team are one of the greatest missions I know. They do not try to change the Haitian's but help them grow. Schools, churches, medical teams, hosting mission groups, preaching and teaching, and helping to set up new job opportunities for Haitian families, like starting a chicken farm, are just a small list of helping opportunities. The Haitian's like a hand-out, but what they want more from us is a hand-up. This is why I support HCO. If I could go to Haiti myself I would. For now, I know the help from me is needed by supporting HCO with money and prayer. God Bless HCO.
