Haiti Reads is a organization in Haiti in the Port-au-Prince region. In a country where you pay to attend school this is a free service to the children and families of the area. They lost everything including the building which housed their library in the earthquake of January 2010 and are struggling to rebuild. This is a most dedicated group committed to the Haiti people, greatly in need of donations and funds to get the books and other equipment to Haiti. The cost is deep and funds are scarce. I have seen the dedication and heartache of those involved in rebuilding Haiti Reads and it is definitely worth anyone's contribution/help.

I joined Haiti Reads because I believe in their work. The organization was progressing with work on a library in Haiti, but the devastating earthquake destroyed everything. Haiti Reads continues to work to help promote literacy through books and libraries. Haiti Reads is in need of support, but the work continues. This is a wonderful organization for a worthy cause - higher literacy rates in Haiti.
