I have ordered several items from Haiti Projects over the years. They were all beautifully made. I bought several lavender sachets to include with gifts and they were very well received. I will definitely be ordering again from this nonprofit. Great work!!

I know that each item is hand-sewn, hand-embroidered, hand-washed, hand-ironed and hand-packaged - you get the idea - by women in a rural village in Haiti doing what they can to pull themselves up. Our purchases, each and every one, directly effect a woman and her family. Directly. Buy from them. Donate to them. We are all connected. Make the connection. Do it. You will feel better. I promise you.

Haiti Projects does amazing things for women in Haiti. They help run a women's clinic, library, all-girls soccer team and more. I love the hand embroidered pieces they sell - they are made in Haiti by incredibly skilled women, who are paid Fair Trade wages. I have so much respect and admiration for Haiti Projects and the women I've spoken to who work with HP. Love supporting organizations that pay their employees a fair wage.

One of the best organizations; a wonderful place to find unique embroidered products that are gorgeous and stunning. The best part is the empowerment, purpose and pride that they are providing to their partners in Haiti.

I am the lucky owner of many embroidered items from the amazing women in Haiti that Haiti Projects assists and have donated to the recent school backpack campaign. I support this non-profit because they believe in assisting women and families to be independent and help them market their talents and skills. It is run by an amazing team of volunteers whose hearts are pure gold. I love Haiti Projects!!

Haiti Projects is focused on what will build Haiti in the long-term. Women's empowerment has been repeatedly shown to be the smartest way to invest in development. Haiti Projects not only empowers women to build sustainable businesses but is also thinking about the whole picture. It is rare to find a nonprofit that thinks long-term yet has the immediate impact of helping so deeply.

Haiti Projects was established over 15 years ago by its founder who saw an opportunity to lift a poor rural community in Haiti out of poverty by giving women a chance to utilize their sewing skills to produce quality embroidered products for market. It has successfully created economic opportunity for these women who in turn have been able to send their children to school, seek health care and build a sense of community

Haiti Projects provides training and valuable skills for women. The income earned has a direct impact in the security of their lives and of their families. They also focus on helping women empower themselves to escape poverty. They focus on education as well, so overall the positive presence in the community is significant.

I am inspired by Haiti Projects and the people who have invested their time, energy, and resources into helping others in such a comprehensive way. By empowering women, this organization has a impact on every part of the community, and it functions with the understanding that to be effective, comprehensive support of the economics, health, and education of the people it serves is vital. Knowing that the empowerment of women positively influences the community for generations, Haiti Projects' work has a very high return on investment, and they work tirelessly to make the most out of what they have.

Haiti Projects is not a charity organization but instead works to create jobs in rural Haiti so people can earn a living and support their family. The program is about empowerment through jobs and has done so much to help women be able to send their children to school. In the wake of the earthquake rural areas have been flooded with refugees and more work is needed. Help Haiti Projects rise to this challenge.

HPI has successfully lifted at least 75 families out of abject poverty by establishing a women' sewing cooperative. The proceeds from marketing their exquisite embroidered goods goes back directly to these women so that they can not only support their families but also send their children to school. The cooperative, community library, micro-lending program, educational scholarships, and family planning clinic has put Fond des Blancs on the road to sustainability and prosperity. Our main concern, as with most 501C3s, is financial stability. We need to do some serious fundraising through grant writing.

I have been the Treasurer of Haiti Projects since 1996, and have known our founder, Sarah Hackett since that time. Here, in a nutshell, is what Haiti Projects has made possible for the women of Fond des Blancs and their families. 1. Discretionary income earned by the women's embroidery workers has supported family diet, education, and family planning 2. The follow on effect has changed their outlook on life and their opportunities. 3. The Family Planning Clinic offers them (and their husbands) contraceptive options and counselling. 4. The Library offers their pre-school children basic instruction, leading to the potential for schooling to follow. 5. Our educational funding projects provides the opportunity for further education. 6. Many of the women now take computer classes at the Library and through internet facility there they can gain information and access to the larger world. 7. A local credit union has recently set up a local branch for direct deposit of payroll. Within a matter of a few years, women in the village have gone from being largely illiterate and uninvolved in life beyond their immediate families, to income earners, bank account holders, internet surfers. It is an amazing transformation.

Even before the earthquake, Haiti Projects was providing important service to Haiti driven by their mission of empowering a woman, to raise a family, to lift a village. The family planning clinic and hospital, the library, the scholarship program and most importantly the woman's sewing cooperative, provided a means, through employment, of sustaining and lifting improverished Haitian villages. Since the earthquake, continuation and expansion of Haiti Projects is needed more than ever.
