Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: To develop, build and manage affordable and supportive housing opportunities for special needs populations, including but not limited to seniors, veterans, and those who experience disabilities; and to foster affordable housing opportunities for those in need in the haines borough.
Programs: Haines assisted living provides full state-licensed assisted living care to up to ten seniors in eight apartment units within the facility.
senior and veteran independent living - sixteen independent living senior households are served in two facilities; st. Lucy's senior living (five apartments) and soboleff/mcrae veterans village (eleven apartments). Low-income seniors and veterans are residents, leasing under federal affordability guidelines and regulations.
wellness center - independent non-profit health services providers, including southeast alaska regional health consortium (searhc), southeast alaska independent living (sail), and hospice of haines, as well as the hal corporation administrative offices are provided program and office space at cost. Searhc facility is a state of the art dental clinic.
