Mission: Habonim Dror’s missions are:To build a personal bond and commitment between North American Jewish youth and the State of Israel.To create Jewish leaders who will actualize the principles of social justice, equality, peace and coexistence in Israel and North America.
Results: HDNA has operated in North America for 75 years providing progressive Jewish and Zionist education for youths and young-adults. We run seven machanot (summer camps) across Canada and the US and local year-round programming for our population centers. In addition, we offer three Israel programs. Our gap-year Israel program is the longest running in North America, approaching its 60th year. Our summer Israel program is 5 weeks long for 16 year olds.
Programs: A five week summer program in israel which creates young leaders with strong jewish identities through first-hand experience with israeli people, their history, culture and society.
a nine month gap year (between high school and college) program in israel where participants will live collectively in small groups with peers from the international habonim dror community and travel the country while learning about the diverse history of israel, the israeli people and the hebrew language.
furthering the education and enrichment of jewsih youth through various projects, including but not limited to a six day reunion seminar, year-round educational and social activities and assistance to the seven affiliated zionist summer camps in north america.
