I have seen firsthand how Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley is changing lives. I am the current office coordinator for the affiliate and this is the best job I have ever held. I get to work with our partner families and see how this not only helps them realize a dream, but it teaches the whole family concepts of giving and generosity as they help other families with their homes or at the ReStore. I get to work with the volunteers and I see examples of such selfless giving, heroic altruism and community spirit that it occasionally brings me to tears. I get to work with the donors and I see what has to be the most generous people on the face of this earth. If it's goods or funds, this community is bountiful and charitable. We are so blessed. I love my job and I love the people with whom I work. They sincerely want to do so much good for the Magic Valley. I am lucky to be among them.
As a relatively new board member, and a relatively new resident of Twin Falls, I am still learning a lot about the impact Habit for Humanity of the Magic Valley has had--and is having--in our area. It is rewarding and humbling to be part of an organization that cares so deeply about such a fundamental need. Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley provides many opportunities for community members to come together to provide for others in a very practical way, and its a wonderful thing to see.
As a Board Member with Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley for the last six years I have witnessed the heart and soul that goes into providing affordable, decent housing for families in Southern Idaho. The Executive Director and Staff work side-by-side with volunteers and donors helping families secure new and renovated "forever homes". It is a true joy to watch members of the community come alongside of their neighbors as they transition from dilapidated or inadequate housing into a home where there is space to grow and flourish! If you are looking for a way to give back to your community with hands, heart, and your whole-self there is no better way than spending a Saturday hammering nails, checking out the ReStore, participating in the Annual Rim to Rim race for homes every September, or just making a donation that ensures that we build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter in Southern Idaho and throughout the world!
I was homeless for due to domestic violence. They expedited my application and within a couple weeks of homelessness, I was accepted. I have been in my home almost 4 years now. It is a great blessing!
I am currently the president for Habitat of the Magic Valley, and have been on the board for over 4 years. I am immensely impressed how our board, volunteers and Restore employees have weathered through this pandemic that has been our new norm for the past months. We were great before this and even stepped it up to become a brighter non profit. Our Restore has done a great job throughout my time on the board but the past year has been amazing! All due to our commitment!! I am blessed to belong to this wonderful family we call our non profit!! Tricia~
As a volunteer, I am happy to say that Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley is an organization committed to their mission of providing the opportunity of affordable housing to their partner families. As a former builder, I am impressed by the quality of the construction and how well they manage their volunteers, many of whom have no experience but a great deal of enthusiasm. It is affirming to participate in their activities, because the end result is a real house that will quickly become a home.
I am a front row witness of how this Habitat affiliate has grown and matured since Linda Fleming became the Executive Director many years ago. The number of the volunteers, the many houses built, the community contacts made, the excellent fundraisers including the very popular Rim-to -Rim Race have made the Twin Falls Affiliate exceptional.

Habitat For Humanity of the Magic Valley is an amazing organization helping Southern Idaho families realize the dream of affordable home ownership through fervent passion and hard work. Through hundreds of hours of service and dedication we were able to buy a home from habitat that provided a path to self-reliance and peace of mind that empowered us to focus on life and a pursuit of thriving for our family.
Habitat for Humanity knows that having a secure home is a family's first step in climbing the ladder of success in society.
But Habitat for Humanity in Twin Falls, Idaho takes that ladder one step higher by encouraging emphasis on education: each new Habitat family has a bookcase (made from recycled wood) filled with reference books (dictionary, atlas, health book, family cook book, fairy tales) and fiction books based on the ages and interests of the family members. This is made possible at no cost thanks to the local Barnes and Noble contributing unsold books. Information on obtaining a library card is also included.
The leadership of the Board, Executive Director, and staff is innovative, extremely hard working, and visionary.
I have worked with Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley on many occasions. This nonprofit has been exceptionally serving the Magic Valley for over 20 years. Their staff and board supports families through home ownership and their Restore has saved thousands of pounds from landfills.
Call me biased (My sister Linda is the director at HFHMV) but this group of wonderful people at the ReStore and HFHMV do amazing work to provide homes for deserving families. I have had the pleasure of assisting in the Rim2Rim Race for homes for most of the last 10 years including this past race during COVID 19 where they managed to raise over $30,000 to build homes. Linda and her group work tirelessly and amazes me over and over. I consider it a blessing to be able to call all of them friends and Linda as my sister. Keep up the great works.
