My team and I had a great experience working with Habitat for Humanity LA. They were organized, friendly and great to work with. Our team had an incredible experience working with them to build 4 homes for the community of Long Beach. We look forward to partnering with them on another build day in the future!

I first volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in the days immediately following 9/11. No other organization made it so simple to pitch in. I've spent the past 18 years volunteering with Habitat on a regular basis, and it is always the highlight of my week. The opportunity to help families in need, learn a valuable skill, and teach other volunteers how to help, is unparalleled.

HFHGLA has been a wonderful experience for me. I stared volunteering with them about 3 years ago. My initial reason for volunteering was to be a small part of helping a family in need. Throughout my life I have always been blessed with a life of abundance. I was never in need. I heard about so many young families, especial young single mothers with a few kids that had so little, living in conditions that were hard for me to imagine. I wanted to do something to help them. I started working with Habitat and started learning so many new skills from habitat employees who were very skilled and knowledgeable contractors. Each day I work on the site is a great learning day for me. For me, this has been an experience where I have received more than I have given.

This is by far one of the BEST nonprofit organizations! You help place families in homes that might not have the chance to do so on their own. I travel on vacation to volunteer and support Habitat LA and each time I feel blessed to meet the families and be a part of such a wonderful organization. The leadership and staff are amazing!

I've partnered with Habitat LA for 2 years now for my company's (Verizon Media), annual day of service. I can't express enough how amazing it is to work with this non profit. For all of our build events, Victoria Green and the rest of the team have worked tirelessly to coordinate everything and make sure the day goes smoothly (which they all have!). We've done the house and onsite play house build, both of which are super fun, great for team building and above all, so rewarding to participate in. I didn't fully understand how this non profit worked before this, but my colleagues and I got to learn a lot about it, and who it impacts. There are tons of great volunteer opportunities but I'd definitely recommend that everyone have the opportunity to work with Habitat LA!!

I volunteered with Habitat for Humanity at one of their builds. It was a rewarding experience to frame the walls, knowing that my sweat and effort would help build a home for a family in need. I'm inspired by the organization and the work they do in Los Angeles.

IBI Group sponsored and participated in a Playhouse Build event with Habitat for Humanity LA earlier this summer. Our team had a fun and exciting day working together to paint to match the theme we chose in the morning and put together the finished pieces in the afternoon to create our unique playhouse. Habitat's team provided all the materials we needed to paint and build the playhouse, helping break up the tasks that would later come together to create our final product. Halfway through the day, we were already looking forward to our next event with the amazing team here! Victoria did a great job of keeping our team informed of the organization's mission, future events, and other ways to get involved with this group. We highly look forward to building our next playhouse with H4H again soon.

The Habitat for Humanity team was professional, organized, and easy to work with. They did an amazing job of both educating us on their mission and organizing events in which we can actively contribute to that mission. Working with them was rewarding, educational, and fun!

We have had two successful build-a-thons the past two summers with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles and we plan to continue on an annual basis. All of my colleagues and our clients rave about what a rewarding experience it was! This organization is really making a difference in people's lives and contributing a positive way to the surrounding communities. We give them two thumbs up!!

Although Los Angeles has been my home for many years, I had been feeling disconnected from the city. Hoping to find a new community of people and a re-connection with LA, I reached out to Habitat for Humanity Greater Los Angeles... an organization I had championed only from a distance for many years. From day one I was welcomed in a way I've never experienced in decades of volunteering. Despite my complete lack of construction knowledge, the staff and crew leaders seemed genuinely excited about my participation, partner families expressed heartfelt appreciation for my time and fellow volunteers were eager to share encouragement and laughs as we built alongside each other.
After only two volunteer days I signed up for the Habitat crew leader program and completed my training and hours this month. Now volunteering on a weekly basis, I feel more and more like a part of the Habitat family - I am learning how to build, helping deserving families, developing a sense of community with the 'regulars' (staff, crew leaders and skilled volunteers) and, once again, feeling connected to my city.

Definitely one of my favorite non-profits. I constantly see all their work on social media and how it really changes the lives of many families and communities for the better. Affordable housing in the la area is a main reason why many families struggle, but thanks to this organization, they make it possible.

I have volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles during their Veterans Build, Hollywood Build, Power Women Powertools Build and more. It is such a joyful experience to see so many people and companies come together to raise money and build homes for low income families. The staff are invested in making a difference and they pore their hearts to find resources for the families. If I had a million dollars to donate I would donate to Habitat for Humanity. If you have never volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, you should! It is a life changing experience to learn about the program and hear the stories of the new home owners. You truly get to see where your money, resources and volunteer hours go to. Thank you Victoria Green for the joyful experience. -Alma Godinez

I have been building with Habitat for 20 years across the country with my company and have always believed that it is a great way to give back and to give people a "hand up" versus a hand out. Our employees enjoy spending the day learning new skills, working with new people and meeting future homeowners. They are always surprised at how great the need is in our communities for affordable housing and the impact that Habitat has on the future homeowners and their futures. Helping people to afford a safe and quality place to live leads to great things for the "partner families" and is rewarding for all those involved in the process. Habitat LA has a great team of people that really care and do great work. We are lucky to have them.

I enjoy shopping at their ReStores. There are always new treasures for our home improvement projects and the prices are deeply discounted. I like that all the funds go to build homes for families that need them in my area.

As a consultant and executive coach, it has been my privilege to work with the Habitat for over eight years in different capacities as a professional. The agency staff and board are tireless in their commitment toward providing housing for families in need. Every individual within the agency has a genuine passion for the mission and goes "above and beyond: in their efforts to provide a quality home for as many families as possible. I am honored to work with such a dedicated and committed organization

I've been a volunteer with Habitat of Greater L.A. since 2004 and I love to brag about my involvement. Their staff is made up mostly by volunteers turned staff, including their President/CEO. I take pride in my work with them and hold dear in my heart the families I've built with and for, as well as the hundreds of other volunteers I've met and who've also touched me. I can go on and on but we may run out of bandwidth. I build. I smile.

I have always been aware of Habitat for Humanity's work, but it was not until I started working and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles that I truly understood the importance and impact of this organization. For the board, staff and volunteers at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles it is all about the families. Every fundraiser, build day, event, press release, partnership, tweet and facebook post has intention behind it - to make affordable housing a matter of conscience and action for hardworking families in Los Angeles. Over the past couple of years I have seen a new ReStore open, environmental sustainability become a priority and a number of lives changed. With more funding and more advocacy, I truly believe that the sky is the limit for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles.

Our company has volunteered with Greater Los Angeles Habitat for Humanity for the past decade. We have always had an amazing experience both as a team building activity and an opportunity to give back to the community. The staff at Habitat is very responsive to our needs and is always available to answer any questions. This is the reason we keep coming back to help build houses! I highly recommend Greater Los Angeles Habitat for Humanity to companies in the LA County who are looking for a rewarding hands on experience.

I have shopped at the Habitat for Humanity store in Gardena and have found some great deals for my home. they have windows, doors, lights tile and really cheap! Made my bathroom remodel affordable. They get lots of items from sets from the movie studios too.

Habitat for Humanity is one of the best nonprofits out there. I support their work because it is not a give-away program. Families have to contribute hours in the construction of their homes. Then they repay a loan to Habitat which is used to build more homes. Talk about stretching your dollars for lasting impact! I encourage others to join in support of the cause.

I have volunteered and donated to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles since 1998. This is one of the few organizations where you can see your donation in action. Funds help buy building materials and volunteers work alongside the future homeowners to build the homes. I also like that this is not a give-away program...the families pay back a mortgage to Habitat after moving in and those funds help build more homes. Your dollar goes a long way with them!
