Mission: Seeking to put god's love into action, habitat for humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Programs: In 2017, macon area habitat for humanity constructed and closed on 1 new home and rehabilitated and closed on 3 homes. We have now directly served 117 families in bibb and jones counties since 1986 with 47 of these families living in lynmore estates. In partnership with macon-bibb county, the affiliate demolished and clearing 17 blighted lots in lynmore estates. The organization celebrated mortgage burnings with 3 habitat families who have paid off their homes. Continued success of the restore contributed 184,000 in sales to further our mission. The lynmore estates neighborhood association (lena) launched with a neighborhood celebration and membership drive in march. Macon area habitat for humanity reached 73% of a 1. 5 million fundraising goal for a major gifts campaign to help with the completion of work in lynmore estates.
