Mission: To provide simple, decent affordable housing in fauquier and rappahannock counties to those families who could not afford a home through regular programs.
Programs: The purpose of the building program is to provide simple and affordable housing for those individuals who could not otherwise afford a home through normal programs. Through the utilization of volunteers for the majority of the build process, we are able to keep the construction costs to materials, key sub-contracts and government fees, which allows us to sell the home to the habitat family at an affordable rate.
the organization operates the habitat restore, which is a retail store selling surplus new and used building and home improvement materials to the general public. The material for sale are donated and sold to the public at reduced costs. The objectives of the program include providing inexpensive building materials to low income and general public, provide habitat families the opportunity to serve sweat equity hours as volunteers, recycle surplus materials and provide general volunteer opportunities for the public while raising funds for the organization.
