Atlanta Habitat for Humanity does not use professional fundraisers and builds affordable homes only in the city of Atlanta and Fulton County. We are one of over 1,500 Habitat affiliates in the United States. I believe the previous comment is referring to Habitat International. We are a completely separate organization from them with our own 501 C 3 status.
I have been a contributor to Habitat for a number of years in terms of time, and money. Of late, the organization has turned to professional fund raisers. I find that such activities and the tsunami of fund raising mail from Habitat has materially altered my view of the organization.
