I have been going with my two friends for their appointments and treatments at Moffitt. I have only met positive caring staff and doctors. They stay and answer all your questions. Thank God for Moffitt.

Slick marketing campaigns and television commercials.
Once you're lured into the system you will be treated poorly, overall.
The patient care experience is awful.
Virtually impossible to obtain appointments or make changes.
A mega cancer hospital system based primarily on greed and arrogance.
They truly specialize in patient victimization instead of empowerment.
I would know, I have Stage 4 cancer and was treated and mistreated at Moffitt McKinley for two years.
I'm sure there are some outstanding clinicians there, but finding them in the mega cancer center will be nearly impossible, unless you have a personal referral.
Finally decided I had enough, and transferred all of my care to a different, smaller Oncology group in the Tampa area. Being treated much better now and having a much more respectful treatment experience.
If you are unfortunate enough to have cancer, think about looking elsewhere for your medical care. . . . .
When I was a volunteer patient advocate with Samaritan’s Touch free walk in Clinic, we had patients with very treatable cervical cancer, who would have died from lack of treatment with no health insurance. Moffett took them on as patients, provided free surgery and follow up care, saving their lives. I have supported Moffett, monthly ever since.

Moffitt Cancer Center is among the very few hospitals in the Tampa Bay area that does not charge its patients and their families a fee to valet park their cars. It starts there. From the time you step out of your car through your entire visit, you feel welcome and well cared for. The staff really believes in the mission of the placce..."to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer." There is no doubt in my mind that they believe they can cure cancer there-maybe not in our lifetime, but their research is pioneering and could lead the way to some cure for some type of cancer in the future. There is no need to leave Florida or the southeastern region of the nation to get good care. It's right here in Tampa at Moffitt Cancer Center.
