I am A Young mother of 2 I was lost didn’t know what to do or who to turn to but once I found gyrls in the HOOD I knew everything was going to be okay because of how caring and nice everyone was the volunteers in the founder of the program she made me see my life in a whole different way and I’m truly grateful and blessed for that
I have collaborated with Gyrls In The HOOD Foundation on a number of different fundraising projects and campaigns, and each time it has been such a wonderful experience. Chez Smith, the founder & director of G.I.T.H, is one of the most humble people that I have ever met. G.I.T.H is an organization that is truly so important to me. As a strong advocate for reproductive justice & the protection of Black women in American, I feel eternally grateful that I found this incredible, crucial, and important organization so that I can continue to do my part to help as well as spread awareness to others. I plan to work with G.I.T.H more and more as I hold this organization very near and dear to my heart. Thank you, Chez, for all that you do for Black youth in Chicago. You are such a strong, resilient role model for the gyrls.
