Mission: Gwinnett ballet theatre (gbt) has been nurturing young dancers since 1977. We offer the best dance education possible, enabling graduates to pursue a professional career, while instilling a knowledge and love for the art form. Gbt also educates and inspires audiences through performances, scholarship program, outreach programs, and collaborations with other non-profit groups.
Programs: Gwinnett ballet theatre annual performances include a full-length ballet in the fall and spring, a christmas production of "the nutcracker", and recital performance at the end of the school year. Gbt also performed as an honor company of the southeastern regional ballet association and participates in its annual festival.
the gwinnett ballet theatre school is one of the few non-profit dance schools in the region. This non-profit status ensures that priority is placed on the individual dancer as opposed to acquiring large numbers of students. This focus on the individual child results in strong, confident dancers. Beginning at age four, students are offered the finest training available. Classes utilize the talents of teachers selected for their ability to obtain results while fulfilling the gbt motto of "nurturing young dancers. " gbt's teaching philosophy involves the whole dancer. Confidence and a spirit of independent creativity are the results of this focus. While gbt concentrates on classical ballet, dancers are encouraged to learn other forms of dance, and company members are required to do so. Classes in jazz, modern, and hip hop are available at the appropriate age and levels of development. As students graduate into the junior and then senior companies, participation in auditions and attendance of summer intensives at major national ballet companies is strongly recommended. Gbt's participation in the southeastern regional ballet association is also a focal point of the serious student's participation and development. Gbt prides itself on many successful and well rounded students who have achieved professional careers. The formula for this success is offered to all who participate.
