Guilderhaven is a kind and compassionate organization. They have helped guests of Family Promise keep their pets by covering veterinary bills while the homeless family works on securing affordable housing. They truly make a difference for people and have had a significant positive impact of the community! Mary Giordano Executive DirectorFamily Promise of the Capital Region
excellent organization which helps so many who are in need and love their pets but just cant do it with out an organization like Guilderhaven! Thank you Sue for making it all happen!
I was put in touch with Guilderhaven, Inc. when we needed to find a home for our cat. Everyone I talked with was understanding of our situation and willing to go above and beyond to help us!
This is an amazing organization who have made it their mission to assist animals in need. Please continue to support them!
I run a spay/neuter program for pets of low income area residents. Some people aren't able to afford our deeply discounted prices. Guilderhaven is always willing to help. Great organization.
The safety, happiness and well being of animals always comes first with Guilderhaven. I am so appreciative they are in these animals' lives. Thank you
A long time has passed since Sue Green & Guilderhaven helped pay my vet bill for Sierra. I'm disabled & barely had money for food but my girl always ate first & Dr.Orto came to the house to help her i just found out who paid the bill don't know how much it was I was very sick. Last week my girl crossed the rainbow bridge to heaven with Dr.Ottos kind help, she came home today in a beautiful wooden box. I asked if i had outstanding bills & he told me Sue & Guilderhaven paid her bill & for that i am very grateful. & am now in a position to make a donation to Guilderhaven so someone in the same circumstances can receive medical care for their dog. Thank you again sorry it took so long. Waiting for my heart to stop hurting so I can open it again to a new fur baby. Sincerely Robin Elliott
I found a baby squirrel that work in a hot parking lot and called Jean and she offered a safe place to care for him he turned out to be a red squirrel and when I went to her home she had some wonderful baby animals that were so well taken care of that I was very happy and she was available I couldn't ask for a better person to take care of these beautiful little animals
Guilderhaven, Inc. is an amazing organization with the most dedicated and caring volunteers. We adopted Cotton in February and the volunteers (Laurie and Dorothy) helped us through the transition of bringing him home to our house of 2 dogs were amazing. They were with us each step of the way and they made the transition for us go smoothly with their help and guidance. They have hearts of gold and truly care about the animals. Thank you Guilderhaven, you are simply the best and we can not imagine our lives without Cotton being in it. Truly a blessing.
I found a litter of baby rabbits that something had dug up and scattered; they were only a couple of days old and so little that I could fit the three survivors in the palm of my hand. We made several calls to different rescue organizations but no one would take them in. Fortunately, we finally found Guilderhaven, and they graciously agreed to take in and care for the babies even though they were already slammed with an influx of animals. We were so grateful that these little creatures would have a chance at life. Thank god for Guilderhaven and the dedicated people who devote their time to saving the smallest and weakest among us. I was informed that the babies survived, thrived, and have been released back into the wild. Another success story!
I, Barbara A. Biittig, rescued a yorkie who is 11 years old. He was found at our local golf club and had be there for over 2 weeks. I am the Town Clerk in our Town and the owner of the club called me to see what could be done with this little guy. He had not been neutered, very bad teeth, and was very skinny. To have every thing done to him was very expensive. I checked with Guilderhaven and spoke with a very wonderful lady who gave me all the information on him being neutered through their program. Riley was neutered with such wonderful care. He is doing wonderful and is a new dog. He joined my other 3 eleven year dogs. Thanks to Guilderhaven Riley has a new lease on life and feels like a 7 year old. This is a wonderful thing that is being done by them.
Guilderhaven is the best organization to help animals I have ever seen. We are so blessed to have them in our community. No one could care more or do more for our helpless furry friends and family members. A few years ago my mother died and I was left with her dog. My husband did not want us to take him in, so I contacted Guilderhaven. They were amazing. They immediately put up flyers and advertised his story, looking for a good 'forever home'. Their efforts were amazing. I had several people contact me. In the meantime, my husband saw how much I loved the dog and had a change of heart, so we were able to keep the dog. But I will never forget how Guilderhaven was there for me and my mother's dog at our lowest time. Thank you for everything you do. You are a Godsend.
Love that they came to a birthday party and promoted animals lives. They have also been great with group visits leaving our kids with great memories and knowledge
Guilderhaven not only saved my dogs life, but my sanity as well as restored my faith in humanity! Sue is the most caring kind hearted soul. She took immediate action when my poor pup needed an emergency surgery I couldn't afford. Everyone else told me I needed to put him down because of the vet bills in our future. Not Sue! She connected me with her phenomenal Veterinary team and told me she would help support us however the organization could! She was honest and very upfront with expectations and advice. I couldn't possibly put into words what all of this meant to me during a very difficult time. I have since done everything I can to help support guilderhaven because I was blessed with first hand experience of the kind of love and support they offer not only the animals but the people that love them and are in need. There is no more genuine, authentic, compassionate or caring organization out there for our fuzzy family! Thank you Sue and all of Guilderhaven supporters! I can't imagine our community without you!
Guilderhaven provides a very valuable service to the community through low-cost spaying/neutering cats.
My mother loves her cat. Her cat provides her unconditional love and companionship. However, she lives on a very limited income. In 2015, Guilderhaven facilitated the spay/neuter of 561 cats so that those like my mother can have a pet responsibly.
It is such a great organization that provides a wonderful service to our community!
Guilderhaven came through for me when I needed help for my beloved cat,if it wasnt for Guilderhaven she would not be with me today.
I have been a board member, volunteer, and grant writer for Guilderhaven, inc. I got involved and continue to stay involved with this non-profit because of all the good they do for the animal community. They have facilitated the spay/neuter of many cats and dogs through the years as well as provide food for animals that are in need as well as medical intervention. In addition to companion animals Guilderhaven, inc., with the help of our wildlife rehabilitator, has helped wildlife as well.
I have known the people at Guilderhaven, Inc. for many years. They work tirelessly for the unfortunate animals. I have used them to get one dog spayed and one dog neutered, preventing unwanted litters for a family. I am now going to reach out to them for help with a mother cat that has had four kittens at my home. The mother is no more than a kitten herself, and is feral, so the entire family will have to be trapped. They all will need shots and be spayed and neutered. I live in the country, and am finding unwanted cats all the time. I am in greyhound rescue, so I know what it takes to re-home an animal. I also work with a local horse rescue organization. The job of caring for animals unfortunate enough to find themselves needing help is huge. To keep on going the way Guilderhaven, Inc. has, makes an enormous difference.
Greyhounds As Companions, Inc.
I have found Guilderhaven, Inc. to be a valuable resource for Greyhounds As Companions, Inc. They have found donated dog food for us, as well as many other products, bedding, supplements, medications, etc., and donated them to us. Sue Green is also working on a way for my granddaughter to get her two dogs spayed and neutered later this month. I know if I ask Guilderhaven for help, its always there.
Guilderhaven is one of the best volunteer groups that I have ever dealt with. Guilderhaven first helped us many years ago with numerous barn cats that we were caring for at a local equine facility. They helped with medical expenses many times when these cats needed veterinary care. When that facility closed, they were instrumental in helping catch many of these feral cats and rehome them. Sue Green, one of the board members, even came out with us late at night to assist in our efforts to catch all the cats! Guilderhaven is an all volunteer organization that truly cares about the animals. My husband and I continue to support Guilderhaven and the important work they do.
My Police Department received a call for an injured fawn, stuck in a fenced in area. The fawn wasn't moving at all. I went in to get him and then brought him to the Emergency Vet. They weren't having much luck with the fawn and he was transferred to Guilderhaven. Within 2 hours, the little guy was up and moving around. Thank you Guilderhaven!!! The picture below is what he looked like on the way to the Vet.
This is a great non-profit with volunteers who really care about the health and welfare of animals. We adopted a dog through them. He had been abandoned and they took care of him for months until we adopted him and remained a resource for us as we worked through initial separation anxiety issues. Excellent group!
Wow, I can't say enough good things about Guilderhaven. I adopted a dog from them about 14 years ago. He was two at the time and sadly he was just put to sleep recently at the age of 16! Guilderhaven had him in their shelter...the volunteers walked him, had bake and garage sales and fundraisers to raise money to continue to help dogs like ours, and cats as well. They are a great group of people with such caring hearts.
