Mission: The guild's and its affiliates' mission is to help each individual reach his or her maximum potential and to help families cope with the responsibility of caring for a disabled family member at home.
Programs: Residential services - the residential services program providestasteful and safe homes and apartments with staffing levels appropriateto residents needs. Intermediate care facilities (icf's) serving 40consumers, provides services for the most profoundly mentallychallenged adults. It is staffed 24 hours a day and backed by clinical staff in compliance with strict quality standards. Our individual residence alternatives (ira's) serving 70 consumers are for persons enrolled in the hcbs waiver program. Staffing varies according to individual needs with a focus on maximizing independence and participation in communities of interest.
day habilitation-our participants are young vibrant adults with mild intellectual challenges. They are active community volunteers, offering assistance to local organizations from senior centers, hospitals and churches to neighborhood cleanup campaigns. Each participant focuses on individual valued outcomes. An additional site at 3106 quentin road was opened to reduce overcrowding in the other facilities. This site has state of the art computer systems for participants and has developed new job opportunities for these individuals in their new neighborhood.
pre-school - our preschool program serving 250 children provides therapeutic and evaluation services to preschool children ages 3 to 5. The center is housed in a spacious, fully air conditioned school building. All classrooms and therapy rooms are equipped with developmentally appropriate equipment. The preschool is staffed by nys certified specialists including a registered nurse and delivery of services are delivered in the child's native language. The combination of services provides an environment where children are able to develop to their fullest potential and prepare for richer, fuller lives.
